Story
ARIZONA ONLY ** PHOENIX METRO AREA ** We are ready to start taking applications for Trixie, a 9-year-old miniature schnauzer who recently lost her home. During her recent dental, a small mass was removed from her face. We’re awaiting biopsy results but the vet is optimistic that it was not a concern. We have had three sets of bloodwork done for her and a urinalysis. Her kidney numbers are slightly elevated so it is recommended that she be on prescription food for the rest of her life. We’ve started her on the new food and she is perky and happy. This darling 13 pound girl just loves her walks and her rope toy; she is preciously playful. And, she loves sitting on the sofa with her people to watch TV. She truly watches TV! She seems to be fascinated with it and when the TV is on, that’s her focus. Should there be a dog on TV, watch out 😊 It’s very exciting. Trixie is a non-shedding dog and requires regular grooming. She enjoys being pampered and loves having her humans around all the time. For the times you have to go out for a bit, of course, leave the TV on for her 😊 Trixie is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, fully vet tested, and ready to enjoy the rest of her life with a loving family. Any children in the home should be at least 10 years old and of a very kind, gentle, respectful, and responsible nature. We can set up a meet & greet upon approved application. Please email to request one.

Story
Lager is an adorably spunky, happy outgoing Miniature Schnauzer puppy. Lager was raised in the home of a person who had decided to start breeding Miniature Schnauzers and then found it was much more difficult than she initially anticipated. So Lager is basically a puppy that was never sold when he should have been and he has lived with her as a house pet. He has not had a lot of socialization outside of the home but he is very happy and appears to love everyone. He does need considerable training, improving his leash walking, potty training etc. but he is on his way. He has a happy outgoing personality and is very eager to please. He will be a delightful pet for just about anyone. He is under a year old and he weighs about 10 pounds. Miniature schnauzers are intensely loyal dogs and will be great companions and friends for a lifetime. Lager has a beautiful coat that is silky and smooth and very thick. He is a good boy to Groom as well. Lager is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Lager's adoption fee is $450 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
Perry is an active, spunky young male who we consider the class clown. He is always on the go and ready for a good time. He is good with dogs but a proper introduction is needed. He will need someone that can be active with him and get his energy out. His new family will need to teach with consistency and have some patience while he is learning the new rules of the house. Perry is about 1 year old and is happy and playful. He takes a minute to warm up and may bark a bit at new people but once he gets to know you (which happens pretty quickly) he will be yours forever! He is about 9 lbs and loves to play with other dogs. He loves sleeping in high places and is always in a “lookout post” when resting or relaxing. Perry is a loving dog who needs an owner who is a “pack leader.” He still needs socializing and we are actively introducing him to new people at the rescue as we can. He is so smart but also tends to become overly protective of his people if he feels he does not have a strong leader. His adoption fee is $325 He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots. This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee.
