Story
History: Dot is an adorable little curly-q! She needed a second chance and an escape out of the commercial breeding world. She is a bit timid and shy at first but warms up quickly with some patience. She has underwent heartworm treatment and is officially ready to find a forever home of her very own soon! A note from the foster: Meet Dot (aka Dottie) – A Sweet Miniature Poodle with a Heart of Gold Dot, lovingly called Dottie, is a 6-year-old miniature poodle who’s been patiently waiting over a year for her forever home. She came to rescue as a breeder release with multiple medical issues, including heartworm and severe dental disease. She’s now fully treated, and although she had to have all of her teeth removed, she eats just fine and never turns down her favorite soft treats. Dottie is calm and independent, happiest when she’s relaxing in a cozy recliner or trotting around a safely fenced yard. While she’s not a lapdog, she loves affection on her own terms and adores belly rubs. She’s also surprisingly playful — her favorite game is fetch with a small squeaky ball, and she delights in squeaky toys of all kinds. Though she’s not fully potty trained, she’s doing well on a regular schedule with frequent trips outside. She gets along with other dogs but doesn’t need another in the home — she’s just as happy being your one and only or sharing space with calm companions. Dottie is looking for a peaceful, patient home where she can enjoy her golden years with freedom, kindness, and a few squeaky toys by her side. After everything she’s been through, she’s more than ready to be loved. She absolutely loves wearing sweaters when the weather is cool. Have you been looking for Dottie… she is waiting for you! 💕

History: Ray is a super handsome boy who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart with his smile and happy personality. He has his paws crossed to find his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Ray, also known as Raymond, is a sweet 7 year old neutered mini poodle that came to us as a breeder release. Raymond has come out of his shell slowly and is hilarious! He gives you the side eye when he’s not getting his way, will talk to you when it’s time for supper, his daily zoomies make me giggle, and he has started playing with small stuffed toys. He has started living his best life but is waiting patiently for someone to spend the rest of his life with. Raymond is potty trained when on a schedule. He gets two walks a day and is excellent on leash in his harness. We do have him on a special food that has helped with his reflux. He is on anxiety medication which has helped a lot in getting him settled. He is crated when I am at work, he does not like being in there and will tell you for a bit then will settle down. He is SO happy to see me when I come home he talks again telling me about his day. Because he does talk a lot I don’t think he would do well in a home with connecting walls. He sleeps with me on my bed all night. I have a 60 pound female labrador that he doesn’t mind being with, they mostly ignore each other. He loves meeting new people and dogs out on our walks. He is much more comfortable around women than men. He is my third leg when I am home so expect him to follow you around. His favorite place in the whole world is sitting on you or by you on the couch getting scratches. He loves getting tummy rubs! We have just started pulling out the blanket and he loves cuddling under that with me now. He is just the sweetest thing!

History: Ashton is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Ashton is very handsome mini poodle. He just arrived to rescue but settled into his foster home immediately. He gets along very well with his foster toy poodle sisters and the other male poodle rescued with him, we believe they are brothers. He enjoys sharing a lap and toys with all of them. He has puppy energy but also loves to snuggle and get hugs. He isn’t a pro at leash walking but is learning quickly, loves praise and is food motivated. He goes out on a schedule and takes care of business right away. So far he has kept his kennel clean. He is not a fan of his kennel and cries when he is put there but everything is so new to him, I’m sure he will feel more comfortable in a kennel once he is more familiar with his surroundings. He so sweet and easy to have around, he will make a great addition to any family.

History: Cali is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She quickly wriggled her way into our hearts with how sweet and loving she is and she would make a great addition to a lucky home of her own soon! A Note from the Foster: Hello! I’m Cali, or as my foster mom calls me, Cali Muppet! I am a sweet little poodle who spent the first years of my life as a momma in a breeding facility. Now that I am out of there, I am quickly learning life can be really good! I love spending time snuggling my foster siblings on the couch and I like to watch animals on TV! I am making progress on potty training, but because I don’t know how to go down the stairs yet. I have a hard time showing my foster mom I need to go potty. I will go potty on pads, and I will go potty if you put me on the grass outside. I know where I am supposed to go, it is just those darn stairs trip me up! My foster mom is working on teaching me to go down the stairs using peanut butter bread as a treat and I am getting really close to going for it, it is just so scary! I’m a brave girl though and I know I’ll get it soon! I am used to be kenneled during the workday for up to 8 hours and I don’t make a mess in my kennel! I don’t mind being in my kennel, I usually cry a little bit at first but then I calm down. As is typical with breeder release pups, I am a little shy as I continue to learn the ropes, but I am getting the hang of everything slowly! I would do great in a home with another confident dog to continue to show me what its like to be a dog! Although I don’t like to be in the heart of the action, I do like to observe and be included in what is going on. I cry when I am left alone in a room. I want to be by my people! I like to sleep in a puppy pile on the couch with my foster siblings, they are the comfiest! I am good with dogs and cats, I enjoy friends! Kids are fun too; however I might be best with older calm kids who understand my need for patience and slow movement. I’m a great eater and enjoy treats, though they are still new to me and I don’t always know what to do with them. There are so many new things in this world to learn about, do you want to be my partner on all my future adventures? I’d sure love to meet you!

History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Brandy came from Texas, and even though she has down south roots, she loves it here in Minnesota! She thinks snow is kinda fun to run and play in! If you are looking for a serious sweetheart with a playful and mischievous side, look no further! This girl is a bundle of fun wrapped in a sweet, tiny little package! She has energy for days, and will also gladly calm down for a good snuggle! She enjoys playing with her toys, and dashing around like a little rocket! She also will always brighten your day with her sweet kisses! Brandy warms up to almost everyone, but may have a negative history with men, as she is a little hesitant meeting new male humans. She is great with other dogs and likes all sizes of pals, she is also good with cats, though she has some boundary issues so cats may not like her. She just wants to be friends with everyone! While she likes friends, she also has lots of energy and some older, shyer, or calmer dogs may not appreciate her energy. She likes to be the dominant dog so keep that in mind when considering Brandy as a new family member! Brandy is learning the ropes of potty training. She is still young and it appears she was not potty trained in her previous life. We are working on it, but she will need someone to let her out consistently and have patience as she works through learning to potty outside. Are you looking for a nearly perfect companion with lots of love to give? Brandy may be the girl for you!
