Story
Finley is being fostered in PA. Finley is a very sweet, gentle, 8 year old mixed breed boy who loves all people and gets along great with other dogs and cats. He is much more interested in his human and being right with his human than he is about other animals. Finley is a spry, healthy little man who was excellent for his grooming and at his first vet appointment where he had blood drawn and was given vaccines. Everyone comments on how sweet he is and his foster mom thinks he's pretty much perfect. Finley has some vision and is very able to follow his foster mom all over the house. He quickly learned how to go up stairs and he can come down them well now, unless they are new to him. He is apprehensive on unfamiliar stairs and needs help getting started but then he's fine. Finley has sporadic skin issues that seem to cause his hair to be a bit thinner on his back end and belly. These issues may be caused by seasonal allergies but we are not exactly certain of the cause yet. Finley appears to understand potty training but because he is not neutered, he is marking a little, living in a house with other dogs, but he wears a belly band very well. This should improve significantly after he is neutered. Finley is scheduled to be neutered on November 20th and then he will be all set to find his forever family. They will be very lucky people to add this adorable man to their home. He has so much to give and wants nothing more than to be your best friend. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately. 12/6/2024 Finley has recovered from his neuter surgery and is waiting for his forever family to find him. He is an absolute love bug and will make the perfect little companion. He continues to follow his foster mom all around the house and insists on being on her lap every time she sits on the recliner. Finley is very good with the cats and other dogs in his foster home and navigates stairs and follows his foster mom to the door to go outside. He responds very well to his name. Although he is 8 years old, he acts much more like a 3-4 year old. He loves to play with many different types of toys and especially loves to play tug with his human. He is adorable to watch choose his toy from the toy box. Finley's skin issues have also cleared up with antibiotics. Finley is an amazing, healthy little man who is patiently waiting for his forever family.

Story
Meet Honey! Age: young adult Weight: 19 pounds History: former mill dog. I'm a very sensitive soul, and it's taken me a bit more time to come around to living in a home and what it's like to be around humans. Housetrained: working on it Crate trained: no, and after that being my only means of living, I'm very scared of them. Good with: Dogs (I actually do much better with another dog who can help me learn how to be a part of a family), cats. No kids, please, they are a bit too much for me. Special needs: hypothyroidism (meds for this) and gastrointestinal issues, specifically when switching food, so will have a specific diet. I'm ready to start looking for my forever home after month in my foster home and making small strides in the right direction. I'll need someone who is very patient and very understanding and willing to help me learn that family life is the best life. I'm working on my pottying outside, but I will need a completely fenced-in yard and a long leash while I'm learning that you are okay while doing so. It's a scary big world for me right now, and the great outdoors puts me in flight mode, so the fence is very important for my safety. I have it in me to be loved, but it will take time, and it will be so rewarding. We can celebrate my progress together! If you have some understanding of mill dog survivors, you might be my person. If you don't have an understanding of mill dog survivors, but have the patience to put the work in, I might be your dog! If you think you can get past my good looks and my incredibly soft fur, get ahold of my people so we can start our journey together! *Honey is being fostered in Trempealeau, WI.
