Story
Teddy is an 8-year-old poodle-shih tzu mix. We originally rehomed Teddy when he was a little over a year old when some friends were moving and didn’t have the space for him. He’s been a sweet, cuddly dog for our family, but he has some health and behavioral issues. He’s on medication for anxiety and we’ve come to realize our home environment, particularly with two small children, exacerbates this. He’s not an aggressive dog, but he will nip at them if he feels like they are going to touch him. He also resource guards napkins, paper towels, etc. He has chronic ear infections, which our vet believes is a combination of the hair in his ear trapping dirt and possible allergies. He is an incredibly loving and playful dog with adults he knows. He loves to be close to those he feels comfortable with, sit in laps, and play fetch with his ball. He is housebroken, crate trained, and knows basic commands he learned at obedience school. He also does well with other dogs.

Story
This handsome Miniature Poodle boy is called Wrigley and he is a young 3 year old, 14 pound sweetheart looking for a home.  His life started off with a breeder and he was purchased as a Christmas gift for young children who soon grew tired of the novelty puppy.  They were supposed to take care of him and the parents were not willing to pick up the slack for his care.  The solution was to put this poor 14 pound boy outside on a tie out in the cold elements of Winter.  A neighbor grew so concerned about him and asked if they would give him up to a rescue.  They fortunately agreed and soon this handsome Poodle was in the right hands that could change his life.  He needed to be neutered and it has been done with all other vetting.  Wrigley is a happy boy despite the lack of love and past care.  He seems to have been unfazed that he spent time alone outside and not receiving the real love and snuggles that he so freely gives now to his foster mom. He is housebroken once again and he has left the horror of being on a tie-out far behind.  He is crate trained and we have groomed him just before neutering him.  He has a whole new life ahead of him and we have polished him up to look as dapper as he could before leaving for a new forever home. If you have been looking for a young Poodle to rescue and love then, this is a rare opportunity to get a fully vetted boy with no hidden issues or fears.  He is fine with other dogs, cats and gets along great with everyone he meets. Wrigley was wonderful to the children in the first home even though they did not appreciate him. This treasure is just waiting for a miracle family to love him.  Could that be you?  He is in Tennessee and we transport northward almost every weekend.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 14, 2025, 10:23 pm

Story
Meet Marshmallow, the sweetest softie of a  Miniature Poodle on the planet.  Said to be about 12 years or older,  whorver guessed his age never lived with this spunky, active little guy.  No way does this little guy slow down or hobble?Along like an old man.  In fact, he jumps he begs to get in your lab. He climbs stairs. He just does everything up dog ten years and under would do. He runs and hops around the house like he's half his age. He weighs 8 lbs. He keeps up with the young dog in the home, chasing and playing, running from room to room and not the senior boy he truly is. When not playing, he happily follows his foster mom around the house and is ready to jump on her lap if she sits down. Marshmallow is a happy boy that loves to snuggle and give kisses. Believe it or not, this boy is the outdoorsy type and loves to lay in the sun and explore the enclosed patio.  He is always up for a good walk on the leash is a champ. When being walked.  Just know he is the curious type and is an observant boy.  If he finds something that interests him he will stop and sit to watch what's going on. If you're missing him in the house, he can likely be found on the back of the couch looking out the front window-not barking, just being nosey. When he's tired, he will put himself to bed in his crate, usually burrowing under the blankets. His favorite place to nap/sleep is with his foster mom. Marshmallow is nithing but a joy to have in your life.  All he wants us love, snuggles, and comfy blankets. If you were interested in this sweet little man Miniature Poodle, write to critter cavalry rescue at Ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 15, 2025, 6:39 pm

Story
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - HERSHEY BREED - Miniature Poodle mix SIZE - About 15 pounds AGE - 10+ years GENDER - Male MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Hershey is a wonderful little fellow who recently came to us from an eastern NC shelter. We have no knowledge of Hershey's past though he must have been someone's beloved pet. He's very loving and well trained. When he arrived, Hershey was in immediate need of grooming, but otherwise appeared in good shape. Because his teeth needed care, we had our vet perform a dental, removing bad teeth and cleaning the rest. This quiet, clean, perfect little sweetheart would be happy beside his special person enjoying a quiet life. He loves everyone he meets and we feel he would be kind to other small, well behaved animals. Hershey is seeking the companionship of a wonderful adopter! Though Hershey weighs about 15 pounds, he should lose a couple to be at a healthy weight. He is a perfect size for most homes! For a young senior dog (likely around 10 years) Hershey is in good health, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with him. A home without larger pets or small children, and with a fenced, secure yard will be required. He will make a wonderful companion for a senior person who is able to care for him independently. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Hershey and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Hershey at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.

Story
Boo Boo and Yogi are two bonded seniors (yes they must be adopted together). Their owners gave them up because they did not want the cost of having senior dogs. Boo Boo and Yogi have been fully vetted, and besides a good dental cleaning, they vet recommended them live out their life the way they are. Their age has been estimated to be 12-14 years old. They absolutely adore each other. Yogi is mostly blind and relies heavily on his buddy’s eyesight and direction. They are not fans of cats, although they are tiny enough to not cause any real harm. They’re all bark. The boys weigh 5-6 pounds total. They will spend most of their day sleeping as old dogs do and very easygoing.
