Story
Beautiful Betsy is a young, petite miniature poodle looking for an understanding and patient forever home of her own. This shy, reserved girl has been through a lot in her young life. She bounced around multiple shelters in California and Utah before landing with CAWS a few months ago. Up until then, she had no socialization with humans causing her to be skittish around people and easily startled. Betsy still thinks people and human touch are terrifying and is most content being allowed to explore at her own pace. While she currently isn't able to be touched or petted, she has come a long way in just a short time. She takes treats, sleeps on her foster's bed, comes when called, and snuggles all day with the other dog in her foster home. She loves chew toys and she loves playful dogs her size - they help her play and gain confidence. Betsy needs another dog in her forever home who will help her continue to build her confidence and learn the routine. She will also need a secure yard she can explore at her own speed. She's a smart and clever girl and we are confident in time she will trust the right person and she'll bloom. If she is allowed to exist near you without being given direct attention, she becomes playful, runs around, and takes treats. She is curious about what is going on, but likes to stay just out of reach. Betsy does not shed, and she will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. This special dog will require a dog savvy family, ideally experienced with fearful dogs and positive training techniques. Betsy is so adorable and she wants to learn to trust people. Given time, space, and gentleness she will learn how to love and will be the most rewarding canine companion.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Nellie, a delicate and sweet little 9 lb, 6-year-old Poodle who’s looking for a calm, loving home to call her own. This little lady is shy (but always sweet) around people and prefers to observe from a safe distance rather than being the center of attention. While she’s not a fan of being touched, she will tolerate it if necessary. Nellie has a gentle spirit and thrives in the quiet company of other easygoing dogs, and will follow her people from room to room, keeping her distance, but also staying somewhat close.Nellie is crate trained and knows how to use a dog door like a pro, making her a low-maintenance addition to the right home. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and would love a home where she can be part of a calm canine pack that would let her snuggle with them. Cats are no problem for Nellie, as she’s perfectly content coexisting with feline friends. Older respectful children that will honor her boundaries would also be just fine. Nellie is deaf, however this doesn't seem to bother her or change her ability to interact. Nellie’s ideal family is one that understands her need for space and patience and will provide her a balanced routine and structure to help build her confidence. She requires the use of a crate and finds safety and comfort in it's confines- potential adopters should be familiar with the benefits of providing a crate and have plans to do so. She is seeking a home with other dogs and would like to stress that she does not enjoy being touched. Although she is not nippy, she has been roughly and minimally handled, used only for breeding purposes and is really looking forward to settling in with a nice pack of other pups to be her companions. She will likely continue to build confidence and bloom as she has more time to feel safe and settled. If you’re ready to offer a safe and understanding environment for this shy but loving girl, Nellie is waiting to join your family and quietly share her gentle heart with you.Nellie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and health checked. Her adoption fee is just $200. To be considered, please apply online at caws.org. Please note that we work to select adoptive homes that best meet the needs of the animals in our care and not on a first come first served basis- Thanks! Story
Hi, I'm Duke and my mom is a goldendoodle and my dad a German Shepherd. I'm probably going to be about 50 to 55 pounds when I am full grown and have a medium level of energy like my mom. Some doodles may be hypoallergenic, but I'm not and I will need regular grooming. I'm still a young pup and I have accidents so I need a family who can be patient and consistent with me and help me learn all the things! I love my stuffed toys and love being around my people. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. The adoption fee is $300. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! I’m William Wallace, and I’m a 2-year-old chocolate poodle. I came to Rescue Rovers in very rough shape! I was underweight and fill of matts, but my foster mom has done an awesome job getting me ready for adoption! I now weigh in at a very healthy 35lbs and my coat is growing back in so thick and soft. I am ready to find my forever family! She has also taught me to walk nicely on leash and be good in my crate. I am working on my potty training and doing a really good job – we would say I am 75% of the way there. I live with a bunch of other dogs here and I’m very good with all of them! Most of the doggies here are smaller than me, and I am never mean…but I am quite bouncy and playful and I have bowled one or two of my buddies over when I get playing too hard. So probably pups over about 15lbs would be my best match, but it always depends on the home! I love humans of all ages and sizes. I am kid approved! I love to play with toys and I think a kid who would throw a ball for me or play tug would be awesome! Though I love to play, foster mom says I have a nice, moderate energy. Not too hyper, just playful and fun, but I also chill out nicely. A family who will take me on adventures would be amazing. If you think I could be the boy for you, apply to meet me today  at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 28, 2025, 3:36 pm
