Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 07/06/2023 Reason for being in rescue: breeder release Foster location: Foster Home in Greensboro, NC Special Needs? Ernie is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm-negative. Ernie grew up without much human contact and needs a patient owner who will let him take the time needed to flourish. He also needs a confident dog to follow to teach him to be a loved pet not just a breeding dog. Weight: 16 lbs Height: 16 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? Yes, Ernie needs a fence of 4 feet or higher!  What kind of home would be best for me? Even though he's great when company comes over he would prefer a more quiet house with no young children. Ernie requires another dog in the home for behavior modeling and socialization. What is my personality like? Ernie is still very shy and more of a calm and quiet dog. He's very curious and likes to keep up with everything going on in the house like cooking or couch time. When he first came into foster he didn't wag his tail but now he joyfully wags his gorgeous natural tail. His favorite place to snuggle is in bed and that's the only place he's never reserved. He loves long walks with foster siblings and enjoys being leader of the pack. He's not destructive in the house but loves to play with toys.  Ernie doesn't like to be crated and foster mom thinks he was kept in one until rescued. He was groomed recently and did well with a gentle groomer while foster mom assisted holding him. How do I act when I first meet new people? Very shy and reserved Other tips and tidbits: Ernie's birthday is 10/26/2021. House trained? Dogs can be house-trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 5, 2024, 5:31 pm

Sadie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 12/2/24 Sadie had a dental and had an abdominal hernia repaired. Sadie is a poodle / rat terrier mix. She is NOT hypoallergenic. Sadie is half of a bonded pair with her best friend Willow. They will only be adopted together. If you aren't looking for 2 dogs, Sadie is not your dog. Weight: 14 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 for the pair Fence needed? Yes, she will run away if not on leash or in a fenced in yard.  What kind of home would be best for me? Sadie, and her sister Willow have always been together, sharing a pen in their former home, so they must be adopted together. While we know it may be a bit more challenging to find someone willing to adopt two dogs, we are hopeful that the right family will fall in love with these sweet girls and offer them the forever home they deserve. Sadie and Willow will be happiest as the only 2 dogs in your home. Cats would be okay. Sadie thrives in an environment where someone is home most of the day. Retirees or individuals who work from home would be the perfect fit for her. She loves to be around her people and would enjoy a household where she’s not left alone for long periods of time. Sadie enjoys being outside and will need a home with a fenced-in yard. She loves to run, play, and sniff around, but she is likely to run off if she’s not on a leash or in a securely fenced area. Sadie also loves playing with balls and toys in the backyard, but what she loves most is snuggling up with her human. This is a trait she shares with her sister, Willow, and together they make the perfect cuddle companions. W hat is my personality like?  Sadie is a 7-year-old Ratipoo who, along with her sister Willow, was surrendered to us due to a new baby in the home. Her previous owner shared, “These two are so very loved, and I’m going to be lost without them. I hope they find a home together, but as long as they find someone who loves them and spends time with them, I’ll be happy.” Sadie and Willow have always been together, and because they’re a bonded pair, they must be adopted as a duo. Sadie and Willow have a favorite spot—they love to sleep in your bed, whether you’re in it or not! In their previous home, they often cuddled together on the couch. If you’re open to having your bed shared by two adorable pups, you’ll have some extra cozy nights ahead. Sadie is very food motivated, just like Willow, and she loves fruits, vegetables, and especially pizza as a treat. Just a heads-up: Sadie and Willow will need to be fed separately, as Willow tends to steal Sadie’s food! Sadie is house-trained and will happily stay in a crate for a few hours if needed. She does best with a consistent potty schedule and will keep her crate clean if given the chance. If you have the time, patience, and love to offer, Sadie (and her sister Willow) will bring joy, companionship, and endless snuggles to your life. These girls are ready to find their forever family. How do I act when I first meet new people? Sadie  is very loving and friendly with people and will shower you with sweet kisses, often aiming straight for your mouth! Other tips and tidbits: Sadie was born on or around 11/25/17. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Jackson is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Jackson is half of a bonded pair with his best friend Cami. They have always lived together and won't be separated. If you don't have room in your heart for 2 dogs, Jackson  Weight: 18 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $700 for the pair Fence needed? Yes because Kami needs one and where Kami goes, Jackson goes.  What kind of home would be best for me? Jackson and his buddy Kami arrived together from an owner who could no longer care for them. Jackson is looking for a home where he and Kami can stay together. While he's not as strongly bonded to Kami as she is to him, he enjoys spending time with her and often follows her around. These two will not be separated. This little guy would thrive in almost any living situation—whether you’re working away from home or from home, retired and loving it or still in corporate America, —so long as you give him plenty of attention and love. Jackson would be a great fit for a single person, couple, or family.  Because Kami would not do well with children, Jackson won't be placed with kids either.  Jackson enjoys playing with the other dogs here, and a fenced-in yard is required for him to safely romp and play. What is my personality like? Jackson may be small, but he’s got a big personality! He loves to act tough—especially when barking at the horses—but he’s also a gentle soul who enjoys hanging out with his best friend, Kami. Though he’s not as deeply attached to her as she is to him, he is certainly happier and calmer when they’re together. Jackson is a fan of the great outdoors! He loves basking in the sun and watching the world go by. When he spots the horses across the fence, he forgets he’s a small dog and proudly barks at them—clearly trying to show them that he’s the boss of the farm (lucky for him, they’re on the other side of the fence!). Jackson will benefit from some basic training, including commands like sit, stay, come, and down. While he can walk on a leash, he’d appreciate some additional leash training to help him build confidence and good manners. The time you spend working on these skills will also be a great way to strengthen your bond and help him feel more at home in your space. If you are looking for a little dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart and a best friend to boot, Jackson and Kami would love to be yours! How do I act when I first meet new people? Although he’s a bit shy at first, Jackson loves people and will approach them for pets and affection. Other tips and tidbits: Jackson was born on or about 11/3/2018. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Kami is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. On 12/18/24 Kami had a dental polishing. Weight: 19 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $700 for the pair Fence needed?  Yes without exception - Kami needs a physically fenced in yard.   What kind of home would be best for me? Kami and her buddy Jackson arrived together from an owner who could no longer care for them. Kami is looking for a home where she and Jackson can stay together. Kami is strongly bonded to Jackson and relies on him. These two will not be separated. Kami would thrive in almost any living situation—whether you work or have to be gone part of the day —so long as you give her plenty of attention and love. Kami would be a great fit for a single person, couple, or family, though she would do best with no children. Kami enjoys playing with the other dogs here, and a fenced-in yard is essential for her - allowing her to safely romp and play. Kami definitely has stranger danger - she's lived a quiet life. With people that she knows and interacts with daily she is a happy girl who takes treats gently and enjoys pets. She is uncertain with new people and, like most of us, does not like to be pushed by strangers. If you push Kami too hard or too fast, she will let you know she does not appreciate it with a nip. Slow and steady wins the race with this girl. Respect her space and she will respect yours. What is my personality like?  While Kami is more confident around other dogs than people, she absolutely loves humans, though she’s a bit slow to warm up. When she sees Jackson receiving pets, she’ll often join him, eagerly seeking affection herself. If Jackson isn’t around, it’s best to let Kami approach you at her own pace. Treats work wonders in helping her feel comfortable, and a piece of hot dog will definitely win her over! Kami tends to follow Jackson’s lead, but she does have her own preferences. While Jackson prefers the outdoors, Kami is more of an indoor girl. She loves the comforts of the indoors—warm blankets, treats, and, of course, plenty of pets from her caregiver. Kami will need some training in basic commands such as come, sit, down, and stay. She can walk on a leash but would benefit from additional leash training. The time spent on these activities will be a great way for you to bond and help her feel even more at home. If you're looking for a sweet, loving indoor companion and have the patience to help her overcome her shyness, Kami is the girl for you. With a little guidance, love, praise, and, of course, hot dogs (don't forget the hot dogs!), Kami will be your loyal, lifelong friend. Kami is a loving girl that enjoys playing with every dog she encounters. This little girl has a big heart and simply wants to enjoy life. How do I act when I first meet new people?  Kami is a little shy when meeting new people. She typically hangs back and lets Jackson approach first. Once she sees that you’re safe and kind (especially if Jackson gives you the all-clear), she’ll eagerly join in for pets and affection. Once she’s comfortable, she’ll want to stay close and soak up your attention for the rest of your time together. Other tips and tidbits: Kami was born on or about 7/14/2020. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.
