Story
Meet Blue! Breed: aussiedoodle. Age: est 1 year, 2 months, birthdate 8/31/23. Weight: 31.2lbs. Training: crate and leash trained. He sometimes needs guidance/reassurance on the leash. He is doing well with house training, but will need continued guidance as he has never lived in a home before now. Good with other dogs/cats? Yes to both. In fact, we believe he would do best with another canine companion in his new home. Good with adults/kids? Yes. Personality: a little shy at first, but he warms up to be affectionate and friendly. Reason for rescue: breeder release - retiring. Blue would do best with another dog in his home to show him the ropes. He has a lot of potential. He needs time, love, guidance, and patience to become the wonderful companion we know he is. Blue is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Story
Meet Isla! Breed: Australian labradoodle (cross between poodle, lab, and cocker spaniel). Age: est 1.5 years, birthdate 5/7/23. Weight: 24.4lbs. Training: crate trained. We are working on leash training. She is doing well with house training, but will need continued guidance as she has never lived in a home before now. Good with other dogs/cats? Yes to both. In fact, we believe she would do best with another canine companion in her new home. Good with adults/kids? Yes, although she would need kids that understands she will take time to become the friendly pup we know she can be! Personality: shy but curious. Reason for rescue: breeder release - retiring. Isla would do best with another dog in her home to show her the ropes. She has a lot of potential. She needs time, love, guidance, and patience to become the wonderful companion we know she is. Because she is still leash training, a fenced yard is also best. Isla is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Story
My name is Winston and I am a 6-year-old male poodle mix that is only 12 to 14 lb of pure love. My family has had a sudden and tragic break up and my mom had to go live with her sister and I could not come with her. She had big dogs that might hurt me and Critter Cavalry has helped me and her by offering to find me a good home. I have lived with young children and I love them. I am good with other dogs as long as they don't try to overpower me and scare me. I love to go for car rides and I love to sit in your lap and have you tell me how much you love me. I am a little nervous right now because I don't know what is going on with all the anger that has been around me. I am ready for a peaceful and loving family to adopt me. I am housebroken and I have been good around the foster mom's other big dogs and cats. Everyone has been so nice to me and I'm ready to be nice and loving back in a new home. I walk great on a leash except I do pull a little bit. You see, my former mom didn't take me for walks very much but I sure hope someone will do that in the future when I go live with them. I am ready for a fresh start where there's no angry voices but only kindness. Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com I am in Nashville Tennessee and I can transport to many different places in the Northeast. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 19, 2024, 4:27 pm

Story
My name is Charo and I am a senior girl poodle that is 12-13  years old and I weigh approximately 16 lb. My beloved senior mom is very ill and she is having to give up her precious little girls and Critter Cavalry Rescue is helping us find new homes.  As you can see in these pictures that were just made, I'm a little scared and really don't know what has just happened in my life. Critter Cavalry is reassuring me every minute of the day, that they will do great things for me. They have promised that they find me a wonderful family or person to love me for many years to come. I may be a senior, but I don't act like it. I don't have an ounce of arthritis and I am perky and spunky and would love to go for walks with you every day and snuggle with you. I haven't been on a leash a whole lot, but I know I would love getting out and seeing the world from the sidewalk with a new mom. I am healthy and I am spayed and I am microchipped and I have had blood work done. I look terrific on paper and I look even better in person. I am good with other dogs and cats and I'm a little shy with people at first but I haven't really gotten out a lot in my life. I've just been with my mom and my sisters. Do you have a place in your heart and home that I can come and live for many years? Just write to Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   they transport every weekend from Tennessee to the Northeast and I would be easy for you to adopt and then pick up from their transport van. The ride is very nice. I hope to hear from you   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 16, 2024, 7:24 am

Story
This beautiful little girl is a white poodle who's senior mom has fallen very very ill and can no longer take care of her and the other dogs in her home. Cremona is a 9 to 10 lb poodle girl that is 13 to 14 years of age and in excellent health. She was just taken in by our rescue and we are learning what an amazingly sweet little girl she is. Cremona is quiet, crate trained, and a little lap girl that loves you fiercely.  Of course right now she is very shy and scared.  She has lived with other dogs of all sizes is fine with all.   Cats are her Friends as well. She seems to be housebroken and even though she has very few teeth, she has an excellent appetite and probably could add a few healthy pounds to her body. We are looking for a home that will treat this senior girl with all the best that life can give. She has many more years to live happily as a bad snuggler and companion. We have done blood work on her and all has appeared to be exceptionaly good in results. If you are interested in our charming little Cremona,  please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 13, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 7/22/2023 Reason for being in rescue: stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Bentley is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Please note that Bentley does not like to be restrained. At a minimum he needs to wear a muzzle for vet visits and grooming appointments. He may require sedation grooming. Weight: 9 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $349 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Bentley needs a home that won't cage him in - literally and figuratively! Bentley does not like a barrier placed in front of him that will slow or stop his roll. He will tell you what he thinks with barking, lip movement, or a flat-out hissy fit. Figuratively speaking, Bentley knows what he wants and how to get it. If he was a human, he would be able to manipulate any situation to his benefit. Yes, this little man is one smart guy who is at least 2 steps ahead on his daily plans for your life. Bentley needs an owner who can admire, work with his independent nature and clearly show Bentley respect. Bentley is really looking for a human who can give him a sense of security. If he senses a soft human, then the worst of his personality will dominate all day long. What is my personality like? Bentley is the master of ceremonies or he can be a brat. He has the mood swings of a teenager. Mostly he's a happy outgoing little guy. He can be hard-headed and isn't the dog for the faint of heart.  Bentley loves meeting new people and wants nothing more than to be the center of attention. He would love to be the ruler of the household and have things his way. Bentley is good with other dogs, but likes to be a loner at times. He wouldn’t mind being the only dog in the home; he does portray a bit of resource guarding towards other dogs when in his favorite human's lap. Bentley is crate trained, but prefers to sleep on the bed with his humans or in his own bed close by. He doesn’t ask for too much, just a hand (or two, or three) on him at all times. He’s already very spoiled, but wants to be spoiled even more. A home with small children wouldn’t be ideal. Bentley is crate-trained, but we leave the crate door open. When we close the door, Bentley does display his displeasure. He may just snarl his lips or go all the way to rage like the Hulk. Bentley freely puts himself into the crate to rest and feel safe. It's his world when it comes to the crate.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Bentley will rush up and greet you with some barks. If he really likes you, he will show you all of his teeth in a big goofy smile. He will run around and put on a show, then settle down for a couple of pets.  Other tips and tidbits: Bentley was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 7 years old. We celebrate hir birthday 7/3/2016. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 5, 2024, 5:31 pm
