adoption donation : $1199 weight 19lbs and 28 lbs Age: 3 years Julia and Jerry showed up at a house in a rural area of northern Mississippi, emaciated annd badly matted, and were turned away. The next day they showed up at another house and their luck changed—the couple that found them brought them inside and called Wags, 501(c) three south of Tupelo. Julia and Jerry are a beautiful loving pair, most likely used for breeding Yorkie- poo puppies, and then dumped when they were no longer needed. Today this loving and sweet pair of dogs are happy and healthy, they have been vaccinated, spayed, and neutered, groomed, and are now at a normal weight. They were both tested for heartworm and thankfully were negative. They are extremely bonded, Jerry, the male poodle, anxiously looks for Julia, the Yorkie, whenever she is out of sight and they are never happier than when they are cuddled up together. they are gentle dogs, fine with everyone they meet and good with other dogs and cats. They just are sweet, tail wagging, affectionate dogs who truly love each other. Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Meet Bunny. She is a miniature poodle that came to us from a commercial breeder. She is about 7 years old and weighs about 17 lbs. Bunny is on the more scared side, like a typical puppy mill dog. She is making some progress in her foster home. Bunny will do best in a home with another friendly small dog and a fenced in yard. Bunny will need work on housebreaking. She has now been spayed and had a dental cleaning. Bunny is up to date with vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $200. This is Jordan! His date of birth is 7/4/2024 and he is a mini golden doodle. He came to us from a breeder because he had a birth defect that made him look like both a boy and a girl. After seeing our vet and having an ultrasound it was confirmed he was a boy but needed surgery to fix up some of his urinary system. Jordan is a very playful pup that loves small chew toys and running around with other dogs. He is in a foster home with a large dog, 4 kids under 8 years old and cats and chickens. He does like to chase the cats and chickens so we are working on that but it seems mostly playful. He is crate trained and sleeps in a crate overnight for 8 hours without issue and stays in a crate when the foster family leaves the house. He loves a good snuggle in a lap when he is done playing. He will need regular grooming for the rest of his life to maintain his curly coat. Jordan will always need a daily wiping/cleaning after he urinates and more frequent clipping of his belly hair to keep as much hair away from his urinary opening to keep it clean and dry. Jordan is now neutered, up to date with vaccines for his age and microchipped. Meet Howl Holbrook: Howl Holbrook is estimated to be about a 4 year old (as of November 2024) poodle mix (best guess) that weighs about 10 pounds. Howl Holbrook was a stray that turned up in a Memphis neighborhood and was very friendly to anyone that met him. He had no collar and no microchip and appeared relatively well groomed and taken care of. The finders tried to locate the owners - flyers were posted near the finder's residence, and notices were posted to help locate the owner, but no one showed up. The finder couldn’t keep the dog and luckily we were able to step in to get Howl into a foster home. Howl Holbrook is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Howl Holbrook is a sweetie! Howl Holbrook is the quintessential lap dog and makes a great couch companion to binge watch your favorite tv shows! Howl Holbrook immediately bonded to his foster human and got along well with other dogs in the multi dog house hold. Howl Holbrook prefers staying inside but quickly learned the use of the doggie door and hasn't had any accidents in the house - so we believe he is house trained but could use some patience while transitioning to a new system. We would love for Howl Holbrook to have a fenced in yard to run and play freely, but it is not a requirement. Howl Holbrook is up to date on his shots and is neutered.
