Kate is a sweet and gentle mini Poodle who’s ready to find her forever home. At just under 8 lbs and 2½ years old, she’s the perfect little companion for someone looking for a loving, loyal friend. Kate’s story is one of resilience - she was rescued from a puppy mill in Lancaster after being unwanted, and since joining the rescue, she’s been thriving. She has no handling issues, loves attention, and has shown how friendly and affectionate she can be. Sadly, two months after being adopted, she was returned back to us, but this time with a broken leg that the adopters clearly did not care to fix. We immediately rushed her for surgical repair. She is now recovered and building up the strength back in her leg but taking frequent, 10-15 minute walks. She’s doing wonderfully at the rescue and really shines in the small dog play group, where she gets along great with other pups. Kate’s sweet nature and easygoing personality make her an ideal addition to any loving home. If you’re looking for a tiny bundle of joy who’s already proven how amazing life can be outside of a puppy mill, Kate is your girl! She will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. Kate was diagnosed with bilateral Grade I luxating patellas - it is not severe enough to require surgery but her future family should take care to make sure she does not become obese that would put more pressure on the legs. It would be something that the family and their vet would need to keep an eye on. She is also scheduled for one more final orthopedic checkup and X-rays on her leg in few weeks - the rescue will remain financially responsible for that visit.
