Story
I adopted Angus when he was 4 months old. He was rescued from a home with small children whose owners could not care for him due to work obligations. My hope was to train him as a service animal to assist with my disability. However, at 6 months old, he is now too strong for me to hold onto a leash. Additionally, the service animal trainer quit. I can't find another service animal organization who is willing to train him as a small mixed breed. Angus loves people, including children, and other dogs. He goes to day care and has been evaluated as a good fit. He has been getting along very well with my 2 year old chihuahua mix. If I could handle his strength on leash I would never consider rehoming him. It has been an incredibly humbling experience to learn I cannot handle a 20 pound male dog. He has been recently neutered and is up to date on all of his shots. He needs a home with an attentive person who would like a dog who is loyal and wants constant companionship.

Story
What my friends at OHS say about me:I really enjoy the company of my human friends. If you have a vacant lap, I would be glad to keep it warm!I had so much fun meeting another dog here in the shelter. My friends at OHS think I would be great at making new dog friends!I am a sweet and sensitive girl who takes a little time to build trust and make friends.I can be easily surprised by unpredictable people. I may do best with older children who can be slow and gentle with me.I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment. The type of home I'm looking for:I may do best in a home where there is another dog to help boost my confidence. My history is a mystery! My friends here at OHS don't know if I've ever lived with other animals or children. It could be with you! Story
We took Bowwow home in 2010, when he was just 6 weeks old. He is a sweet, loving, affectionate little dog who has been a loyal companion. We love him so much, but my partner and I work full time and have two little kids. We are unable to give him the love and attention he deserves, and it breaks my heart. We want to find him a home where he is adored and showered with love. In his older age, (he is 14), he has even having difficulty with the noise of our children and the long hours he is left home alone. He is confined to the kitchen most of the time, which he absolutely hates. But he can no longer have free rein of the house, as he can’t hold his bowels the entire time we are gone. As my kids are little, it has been a huge strain to clean up after him. Additionally, my kids scare him and must be supervised constantly so they don’t hurt him. He has never hurt the children, but does avoid them. He is the sweetest little dog, but his anxiety and toileting is too much for us

Story
Meet Kelsey! Kelsey is 10 years old but has the energy and playfulness of a puppy! Kelsey LOVES toys and he flips them up in the air, catches them and then shakes them like crazy. He is just so cute! He is about 10lbs and is good with all people, other dogs and cats. Kelsey has a dental cleaning scheduled for October 25th so we are seeking a foster to adopt for darling Kelsey. Kelsey has limited vision due to age, but he gets around no problem. Kelsey is current on all vaccines, neutered, microchipped and his blood panel came back with all normal values. Interested in Kelsey? Please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com and ask for an application. 🐶🩵🐶
