Story
Sweet little Gigi, a Poodle X  was picked up as a stray and not claimed.  She is approximately 12 years young, 15 pounds, playful, sweet, and is looking for a family to call her own. She has been fully vetted and has recently been spayed, had a hernia repair and several teeth removed.  She is up to date on her shots, and is microchipped.   Gigi's favourite thing to do is be with her person.  She loves to cuddle and will sit by your side looking for belly rubs and ear scratches.  If you stop petting her she will tap your hand with her nose to remind you to pet her.  She loves to sleep with you and will get right under the covers and curl up beside you.   Gigi eats twice a day and will be your best pal if you offer her some treats during as well. She gets wet food because she has  so few teeth,  but she does enjoy a bit of kibble  in a separate bowl.        She goes to the door to be let out and his well housetrained.  Gigi knows the commands sit, stay and off. On walks or going for a ride in the car, Gigi will often try to chat with people or other dogs that she sees.  Saying thank you will often get her to quiet down.  She will also bark to alert if she hears someone outside but quickly settles.  Gigi loves everyone and is quick to approach people for affection. She is currently in a foster home with 2 other small dogs and gets along well with them.   The best placement for Gigi would be with people who are home most of the time and have a fenced yard where she can go out several times a day.November 23, 2024, 8:49 am

Story
Bella is another poodle mix needing a forever home. She is 3 years old, female, good with dogs, super sweet, and can be cat tested. Bella was found as a stray and upon examination by the vet, she needed surgery to remove a bladder stone. She has fully recovered and is waiting patiently for a family who won't abandon her again. A balanced raw diet is recommended to prevent future bladder stones. There is lots of moisture in the food and it's unprocessed. If interested, please email dcdgavel@gmail.com for an adoption application.

Story
**Note: Podo is currently in Korea but we are looking for his forever home in Toronto. His flight from Korea to Toronto is scheduled for March 18. Background: Podo was one of seven poodles found chained and neglected on a farm last fall. It was suspected that a puppy mill owner had hidden them there. Thankfully, they were rescued and taken to a private shelter, where they began their journey to a better life. Podo is currently living with other dogs at our boarding house, preparing for his flight to Canada. Personality and Socialization: Podo embodies the classic poodle personality—affectionate, sociable, and adaptable. He is sociable and friendly with a medium-to-high energy level. A true cuddle bug, Podo isn’t shy around strangers and enjoys snuggling with his humans. With other dogs, Podo is friendly and enjoys playtime, especially with small dogs. However, when he needs a break, he prefers to rest undisturbed. He has a more confident and dominant personality rather than being overly submissive. He would thrive best as the only dog in a quiet home where he can fully relax without being bothered by other dogs. Behaviour: Podo is well-behaved in the car, during baths, and at vet visits. He is generally quiet but will bark a bit during his meal time expressing his joy and excitement. He has limited leash-walking experience but follows his human well and is eager to learn. Overall, he is a friendly and affectionate boy who adjusts well to new environments. Health and Diet: Podo is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He takes monthly parasite preventatives, and all his parasite tests, including heartworm, came back negative. He eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no signs of allergies. Ideal Home: Podo thrives in the company of people, making him an ideal match for a family where someone is home most of the time—whether retired or working from home. While he enjoys playing with other dogs, he would be happiest as the only dog so he can fully relax in a peaceful environment. Podo is a loving, snuggly sweetheart who will bring endless joy to whoever is lucky enough to adopt him. ----------------- For more info about Podo or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/podo/

Name/Tag#:  Chelsea 4203 Age: 6 years old Sex/Altered: Female/ Spayed Weight: Just under 10 lbs. Breed: Miniature Poodle Foster Home Location: PICKERING, ON Adoption Fee:  $750.00 Temperament: Very sweet, can be a little shy at first in new situations Activity/Energy Level:  Moderate Up to date on Shots: Yes, plus dental done Housebroken: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Ok with Dogs:  Yes Ok with Cats:  Unknown Ok with Kids:  No, adult only home please Origin: Mill release Requirements:  Securely fenced yard, adult only home with previous dog experience   Meet Chelsea- a very sweet and playful poodle that is so ready to be your next best friend.  Chelsea is the total package – she has a fantastic personality, she loves to meet other dogs, she is housetrained (will use pee pads too), crate trained, and loves going out for walks.  She was introduced to snow for the first time in her life and she absolutely loves it; you would think she is part husky the way she runs through the snow.  It is so cute to see her just jump right in and frolic in the fresh snow.  She is also just as enthusiastic to curl up for cuddles on the couch beside you during downtime. Grooming is a breeze with her, she is an eager participant and just stands there while you groom her.  Because of her lack of socializing with young children, she can be a bit intimidated by them and will try to move herself away from them when they are around.  Chelsea has learned so much in her time in foster care, the more you can introduce to her the more confident she is becoming.  She is very eager to make sure she is living her life to the fullest and loves to be a part of everything that you are doing. Chelsea loves to interact with the other dogs in her foster home and will initiate play.   Chelsea is looking for a home with another playful dog in it to keep her company and an experienced adult only home with a fenced yard.  You can’t go wrong with adopting this girl! Story
Meet Candy – A Sweetheart Ready for Her Forever Home! Candy has just arrived in Canada after being rescued from the streets of Mexico, thanks to a kind-hearted woman who saw her potential for love and companionship. Now safe and settling into her foster home, this adorable 3-year-old poodle mix (about 12 lbs) is ready to find a forever family to call her own. Candy is adjusting beautifully to her new life. Her foster dad describes her as gentle, cuddly, and incredibly sweet—she’ll even nudge you for more pets! She’s calm, affectionate, and enjoys gentle play. At night, she sleeps peacefully on the bed, happy to be close to her humans. With a low to medium energy level (leaning more toward low), she enjoys her food, some treats, and the simple pleasures of being loved. Candy is doing well with house training. She has learned to go outside—even bravely stepping into the snow for the first time! She now signals when she needs to go out, though she doesn’t stay outside long in the cold. Once the weather warms up, we believe she’ll love having the freedom to explore a backyard. She walks well on a leash and enjoys leisurely strolls, but she’s likely not the hiking type—she prefers a slow, relaxed pace to take in the sights. Candy is friendly with people and dogs. At a recent vet visit, she happily soaked up attention from the staff and remained calm around other dogs. She was even a perfect patient for the vet! This little sweetheart would be an amazing match for a family looking for a gentle, loving companion who enjoys being close by and showering her people with affection. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly friend who will fill your home with love, Candy might be the perfect match for you! Candy is being fostered in Scarborough. If you think she’s the one for you, apply today—this adorable girl won’t be waiting long! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.
