Story
A very sweet little Miniature Poodle named Zach recently joined our rescue. He is 5 years old and weighs around 12 lbs. He lived in a puppy mill all his life and has some challenges to overcome, but is making progress. Zach was very frightened when he arrived at his foster home. He shook for 3 days and slept alone in the living room at night. Three days later he moved to a bed on the floor in the bedroom. Now he sleeps on the bed with his foster parents and their dogs. Zach is comfortable climbing stairs and likes to spend time outside in the backyard rolling in the grass. He feels safe in his home and yard. He is, however, frightened to leave his safe space and when he went for his first walk on a leash he froze and had to be carried home. He is quiet travelling in the car and is fine with a seatbelt or crate. Zach has a very good appetite and eats 2 meals a day. Benny Bully are his favourite treats. He eats Royal Canin Adult canned food. We add a little chopped chicken and rice. He also eats Performatrin Ultra Kibble. These can be purchased from Pet Valu. Currently there are 3 small dogs in Zach’s foster home. He will sometimes join in when the other dogs bark, but for the most part is quiet. He has not been destructive when left alone. He is friendly with people and other dogs.   When Zach was released from the puppy mill he was severley matted and clipped down very short. It will take a couple of months for his coat to grow back in. Zack is not yet totally housebroken. He will do his business outside in the yard. If he can’t get outside in time he will poo on a puppy pad, but will lift his leg on furniture for a pee (we use a belly band for him so no urine gets on our furniture). He will need a training. Zach would probably do best in a very quiet environment with no children. Preferably he should go into a home with a retiree or someone who works from home and could be with him most of the time. A house with a yard and another dog would be a bonus. He is making great progress and with a little time and patience he will do very well. November 4, 2024, 6:03 am

Story
FLASH is an approximately 1.5 year-old male miniature poodle who loves everyone he meets even after being abandoned He is almost house trained and loves to play with dogs and toys. He also wants to play with the cats he is living with but they don't want to be bothered by a puppy so they ignore him.  He is learning to walk on a leash and patiently waits for his harness to be put on him before he goes out the door.   He insists on sleeping cuddled up to his foster mom and likes to be held when she is watching tv.   FLASH would do well in a home with either another dog or on his own. He would be great for a person who wants a dog but doesn't have a lot of time to walk them as short trips around the block are perfect for him because he has one leg that doesn't work very well and he compensates for it easily by holding it off the ground and only placing it on the ground when he's standing still. He loves running zoomies around the garden and was named FLASH by the shelter because of the speed at which he ran around with only three good legs. He climbs stairs easily and is highly intelligent.   More About FLASH:   Up to Date with vetting: Yes and neutered Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Loves his two feline companions in his foster home - but wants to play with them a lot Reaction to New People: Friendly Good with kids: Yes Resource guarding issues: None Housetrained: Yes - 95%  Crate trained: No Good in the car: Yes Bark when left alone: No Destructive: he is a puppy so will grab things left at his level and run around with them or chew on them but is easily redirected Energy Level: high   November 4, 2024, 6:03 am

Slowly getting used to being in the house.   Hasn’t found his comfort zone yet   Best home scenario:  house large enough that he can run around in.  Would do well with an experienced dog person who has time to help him find his comfort zone. Would do best with someone who is home most of the time to give him the attention that he’s just starting to crave  November 4, 2024, 6:03 am

Story
Hi there! My name is Hare, and I’m excited to share my story with you. While I’m not exactly sure when I was born, people think I might have come into this world around 2017. My life took a significant turn in 2024 when I was rescued from an unlicensed breeding facility in Boryeong. Since then, I’ve been on a heartfelt journey to find my forever home, and I’d love to tell you a bit about myself. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but I have a soft spot for treats! If you offer me a tasty snack, I’ll warm up quickly and enjoy being petted. Though I haven’t met many children under 13, I promise to be gentle and kind. You can even rub my belly and lift me up for some cozy cuddles! I absolutely love going for walks and have learned to walk calmly on a leash, staying right by your side. After our outdoor adventures, there’s nothing I enjoy more than curling up on the couch and relaxing together. When it comes to my dog friends, I like to say hello but prefer to keep my distance—I’m not much of a player and like to avoid any drama. To be honest, not many dogs catch my attention, and I’ve never encountered a cat before, so I’m curious but unsure of how I’d react. Sometimes, I can feel a little anxious when left alone, so I might let you know if I’m missing you. I’m working on building my confidence and learning that it’s okay to be independent. I may also speak up when I want something from you—after all, communication is key! I’m fully trained to use indoor pads and enjoy outdoor bathroom breaks. I absolutely love food, so it’s best to be cautious when feeding me. I tend to be more attached to humans than other dogs, and I calm down wonderfully when I’m with you. I truly thrive on human companionship, and I know I’ll be happiest by your side. If you’re looking for a loving, gentle friend to share your life with, I hope you’ll consider bringing me into your home. I can’t wait to show you just how sweet I can be!

Story
Hi there! My name is Lio, and I’m excited to share my story with you. I was born around 2018, and my life took a transformative turn in 2024 when I was rescued from an unlicensed breeding facility in Boryeong. Since then, I’ve been on a heartfelt quest to find my forever home, and I can’t wait to tell you more about myself. I’m an affectionate little girl who loves to greet both familiar faces and new friends! With my playful spirit, I’ll happily come up to you, nuzzle against you, and enjoy some loving pets. You can even scoop me up and give me a belly rub! While I haven’t had much experience with children under 13, I promise to be gentle and kind. When I feel safe around you, I’ll show you my belly for a nice rub! I thrive on outdoor activities and have a playful side. I have plenty of experience with walks and I’m great at following my person without pulling on the leash. With my high energy level, I need plenty of fun walks and playtime to keep me happy. After a day of adventure, there’s nothing I enjoy more than curling up and relaxing at home. When it comes to my dog companions, I’m friendly and enjoy saying hello, but I’m not much of a player. I can get a little feisty if another dog provokes me, so it’s best to keep an eye on me during introductions. While I don’t guard my food from people, I might growl if another dog approaches while I’m eating. I also tend to be a bit jealous, which makes me think I’d prefer to be the only pet in the household. I’m still working on building my confidence, especially when it comes to being left alone. I might let you know if I’m feeling a little anxious or if I want something, as I do express my needs with some vocalizations. While I haven’t met any cats yet, I’m curious about them! I’m fully trained to use indoor pads and enjoy outdoor bathroom breaks as well. Oh, and I have a bit of a jumping talent! My agility means I could easily hop over low fences, so that’s something to keep in mind if you have a yard. Right now, I know how to sit on command, and I’m eager to learn more tricks! I can’t wait to find a loving home where I can share my playful spirit and affection. If you’re looking for a loyal and energetic companion, I hope you’ll consider bringing me into your family. I promise to fill your life with love and joy
