Story
ChewyMaleAge: 5 years oldWeight: 7 lbsBreed: Miniature Poodle Hi! I’m Chewy! I am an affectionate and happy guy who gets along with other dogs and kids too! I haven’t been around cats yet, but I am so friendly I will probably love them too. I am crate trained and am working hard on my house training and how to walk on a leash. Walks are my jam. I do like to zip around and stick close to my human. I am really just starting to discover the joys of being a dog and my curiosity for everything proves it. I love to run around, explore, and check out every corner—although I won’t stray too far from you. I like all treats and even though I am just figuring out how to play with toys I do enjoy a good pig ear from time to time and a little tug-o-war game with my rope.   I love to cuddle and have a deep affection for my people. Because I miss them so much when they leave me in my crate, I put on a little protest concert at first, but I am quick to quiet down and settle in. But still, a home with shared walls might not be the best setup for me. Despite my past, I am eager to please and am easily guided—just have some treats handy, I really like those! I easily adapt to all situations and would fit in well with other people and dogs. Oh, and I am a sponsor dog! That means my adoption fee goes to help pay some of the medical expenses for the other dogs in need so they can find their forever homes too. If you are interested in meeting this soft, curly-coated guy who will keep you laughing, snuggle endlessly, and always keep you company, apply to adopt him at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $495 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.  ##2140243##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sierra's adoption donation is $550 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. Sierra requires a secure, physically fenced yard and a companion dog of similar size/energy. Sierra came into rescue from a commercial breeder, AKA puppy mill, she didn't have the easiest start to life as she was limping and they could not sell her. Sierra required a hip surgery due to a traumatic injury to her hip and then required knee surgery due to poor breeding. She has recovered from both surgeries like a champ and is really discovering what it's like to be a loved and cherished member of the family.  Sierra is like most mill dogs and is shy at first, she needs a little time to warm up but once comfortable she loves cuddles and pets. Sierra is still learning to walk on a leash but she loves to be around and play with other dogs. Now that she is fully recovered from all her surgeries she LOVES to run around the backyard! Sierra does require a home with a secure, physically fenced yard. She also loves to hoard toys and take naps on the couch. She will benefit from a companion dog of similar energy to help her continue her progress.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  September 18, 2024, 12:17 am

Story
Little Bobbi Jean is an adorable 11 lb miniature poodle who is about 3 years old. She came from an amish breeder who didnt treat her well, so she really needs a quiet loving home to show her what love can be. Bobbie Jean is currently in a foster home and is getting used to all the new experiences. This little girl has been through so much, but she still has a heart of gold and a sweet personality. She gets along with other small dogs, but hasnt been tested with larger dogs. Bobbi paid no mind to the vet cat. She needs a quiet home since she gets startled at loud noises and sudden hand movements. She is understandably scared and a little shy. Its best if you let her come to you and she will give you her paw of approval by climbing in your lap. We were told by her rescuer that once she is comfortable with you she loves to cuddle. Due to her reaction to noise and sudden movement, we think she would do best in a home without young kids. If you think you are the right home to show Bobbi Jean love, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Charlie Charmer! How can this poor pup be so sweet and forgiving?  This gentle boy just wants to be loved.  Dumped, injured, covered in, who knows what, and left out to die.  Please review the pictures to see his resiliency and transformation.  We see a bright future for this guy because he is so young and has shown nothing but appreciation for rescuing him. Despite his neglect, he has not shown any aggression with food, toys or other dogs and has loved everyone he has met.  He has not been tested with children or cats so a proper introduction is in order.  We love his energy and playfulness but he will need plenty of exercise.  He would be fine as a only dog but because of his love for other dogs and playing, he would do well in a home with another dog his size.     Meanwhile, Charlie with be charming the folks in the prison program working on some puppy skills and making new friends. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 25, 2024, 11:27 am

Story
ABOUT ME... Hi! My name is Rubie Grace! I came from an awful place called a puppy mill. :( Now I'm at a place called a foster home!! It's sooo nice here!! I have lots of dog and cat siblings here. They even have a parrot!! I'm learning how to be a dog here. I love my cozy bed!! (I even share it!) There's lots of toys too, that I'm learning to play with! My foster family gives me something called treats!!! They are so yummy! I'll "sit pretty for them!! I'm very food motivated. Dad makes something special called spaghetti, just for us fur kids, it gives me the zoomies because it's so tasty!!! I AM GREAT WITH... I'm great with all of my fur siblings, but the kittys smell funny!! Still not sure what to think about the bird! I love the kids too! They're teaching me to go outside with everyone to potty. I really like that! They give me treats, cuddles, and lots of love! I know my name now, so I run to them when they hollar for Rubie!!!! I AM STILL WORKING ON... I'm still working on going potty outside, but if I can't make it, Mom and Dad have potty pads for me to use!! We've been working on using the leash also, but it scares me. I don't really like it when my crate is closed, but I do settle down. Mom says I'm doing great at "learning to be a dog I'm still skittish about things around the house, so please be patient with me!!! I AM NOT GOOD WITH... I'm still getting used to loud noises, and sudden movements. It's kinda scary, but everyone tries to make me feel better!! I REQUIRE... My family says I must have a fenced in yard. I think that's a good thing, cause I'm still scared of some stuff. I really like exploring our backyard yard, and my mom and dad don't worry as much because I can't leave our yard! Mom says until I get used to the leash, (we've been working with it in the backyard!) a harness would be best for me!! It scares me a little when we put it on, but I'm ok with it!!! *** SIDE NOTE FROM MY FAMILY Rubie Grace is an amazing lil lady. She has come so far, in the short time we've had her!! She has a wonderful personality!! _________________________________________________ **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM.
