Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue:1/25/25 Reason for being in rescue: Barry was found as a stray in North Carolina and landed at a shelter. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Barry is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Barry was found as a stray, so we have no history on him. Our best guess is that he is a doodle of some sort. Only a DNA test will confirm. Given this, we cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he will not shed. Weight: 34 lbs Height: 22 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Barry requires a physically fenced yard with a four (4) foot tall or taller fence as he is an escape artist. What kind of home would be best for me? Barry would thrive in a home with a single person, a couple, or a family. We think he’d particularly enjoy being part of a family with kids who can keep up with his energy and enthusiasm. No matter who his adopter is, Barry will need an active lifestyle to help burn off his endless energy. He’ll happily join you on walks, hikes, trips to the beach or mountains, and even runs to the store - especially if there's a pup cup involved! Barry will need a fenced-in yard, as he’s a known escape artist. A secure fence will give him the freedom to run and play while keeping him safe. He is not a dog that you can leave outside alone in the fenced yard - ever. He’d love to have a playmate or two - whether another dog or your kids - to keep him company. Barry has LOTS of energy and is looking for a home that can keep up. What is my personality like? Meet Barry, a lively, playful pup who also enjoys some quiet moments. He’s the type of dog who adapts to the energy around him – some days, he’s ready to play and explore; other days, he’ll enjoy a calm, cozy time with you. Barry is looking for his forever home after being found as a stray, and he’s ready to shower you with love and fun! Barry came to us as a stray, so we have no information on his life before the came to the farm. We know he is young and active and eager to learn. While he may need some training (especially with walking on a leash and learning basic commands), he’s a quick learner who responds well to treats and praise—especially treats! Barry is a happy, playful young dog who knows how to enjoy a good balance of playtime and relaxation. He’s always up for an adventure, but he also knows when to chill and enjoy some downtime. If you’re ready for a joyful, fun-loving companion to brighten your life, look no further than Barry. This guy is a bundle of energy and fun! How do I act when I first meet new people? Barry can be a little unpredictable when meeting new people, depending on his mood. He may greet you with wild excitement, eager to play, or he might be more laid-back and relaxed. Either way, Barry is a friendly, good-natured dog who’s always ready to make new friends! Other tips and tidbits: Barry was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he's estimated around 2 years old. We celebrate his birthday 1/25/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. February 18, 2025, 6:38 am
