Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue:1/25/25 Reason for being in rescue: Barry was found as a stray in North Carolina and landed at a shelter. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Barry is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Barry was found as a stray, so we have no history on him. Our best guess is that he is a doodle of some sort. Only a DNA test will confirm. Given this, we cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he will not shed. Weight: 34 lbs Height: 22 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Barry requires a physically fenced yard with a four (4) foot tall or taller fence as he is an escape artist. What kind of home would be best for me? Barry would thrive in a home with a single person, a couple, or a family. We think he’d particularly enjoy being part of a family with kids who can keep up with his energy and enthusiasm. No matter who his adopter is, Barry will need an active lifestyle to help burn off his endless energy. He’ll happily join you on walks, hikes, trips to the beach or mountains, and even runs to the store - especially if there's a pup cup involved! Barry will need a fenced-in yard, as he’s a known escape artist. A secure fence will give him the freedom to run and play while keeping him safe. He is not a dog that you can leave outside alone in the fenced yard - ever. He’d love to have a playmate or two - whether another dog or your kids - to keep him company. Barry has LOTS of energy and is looking for a home that can keep up. What is my personality like? Meet Barry, a lively, playful pup who also enjoys some quiet moments. He’s the type of dog who adapts to the energy around him – some days, he’s ready to play and explore; other days, he’ll enjoy a calm, cozy time with you. Barry is looking for his forever home after being found as a stray, and he’s ready to shower you with love and fun! Barry came to us as a stray, so we have no information on his life before the came to the farm. We know he is young and active and eager to learn. While he may need some training (especially with walking on a leash and learning basic commands), he’s a quick learner who responds well to treats and praise—especially treats! Barry is a happy, playful young dog who knows how to enjoy a good balance of playtime and relaxation. He’s always up for an adventure, but he also knows when to chill and enjoy some downtime. If you’re ready for a joyful, fun-loving companion to brighten your life, look no further than Barry. This guy is a bundle of energy and fun! How do I act when I first meet new people? Barry can be a little unpredictable when meeting new people, depending on his mood. He may greet you with wild excitement, eager to play, or he might be more laid-back and relaxed. Either way, Barry is a friendly, good-natured dog who’s always ready to make new friends! Other tips and tidbits: Barry was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he's estimated around 2 years old. We celebrate his birthday 1/25/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. February 18, 2025, 6:38 am

Chase is a doodle (we don't know what breed mixture). Only a DNA test will confirm what he is. We cannot guarantee he is hypoallergenic or that he does not shed. Chase is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 31 lbs - Chase is underweight and needs to gain 10 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: unknown Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Chase requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Chase loves being the center of attention and he thrives off of human cuddles and affection. When Chase is left alone, he misses his humans dearly and often cries for them to come back. He would be best suited in a single family home versus a townhome or apartment due to his quirky, vocal nature. Chase would heavily benefit from another large, active dog in the home for play and socialization. He needs someone who will consistently provide love and gentle care for him. Chase wants to be with you 24/7. He wants to go to the bathroom with you. To the post office with you. He is looking for someone that wants a vlecro dog. Chase is currently underweight and will need to be fed 3x a day in order to get a little more weight on him to ensure he has the healthiest and happiest life possible. Chase is the ideal dog for either a family or a couple and is sure to make the perfect, loyal companion. He gets along great with other dogs and enjoys romping in the sun with other canine friends!  What is my personality like? Meet Chase - a bundle of joy with a heart full of love! This sweet boy is always ready to brighten your day with a wagging tail and a big, happy smile. He is a true sweetheart and adores being pet and receiving affection. Chase is doing phenomenal at things like potty training and learning simple commands, but he still needs socialization and more positive learning experiences! He’s an easy-going boy who simply just wants your undivided attention. Whether it’s playtime, a cozy snuggle session, or simply following you around, Chase will be his happiest when he is by your side. Chase has been extremely sweet and friendly to his daily caregivers and we know he will be just the same with his new humans. Precious, sweet, full of life, and nonetheless! If you’re in search of the sweetest, most adorable boy, Chase is ready to steal your heart! How do I act when I first meet new people? Chase loves everyone and everything! Other tips and tidbits: Chase was estimated by 3 years old when surrendered to the NC shelter. We celebrate his birthday 1/27/23. House trained? Humphrey arrived in rescue with a broken jaw that was hanging off the side of his face. He had partial removal of jaw due to trauma sometime mid-2024. The jaw could not be repaired and was hanging. Humphrey has been neutered, is up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative. Given his unknown origin, we cannot guarantee that Humphrey is hypoallergenic or that he will not shed.  Weight: 17 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $349 Fence needed? No, but a fence is a great safety feature for any dog. What kind of home would be best for me? Humphrey is a bundle of joy and happiness will adapt seamlessly to any home, whether an apartment or house. Humphrey does not care if his adopter is a single person, a couple, or a family, all he wants is a place where he can be loved, feel safe and enjoy the happiest life imaginable. He would enjoy having a fenced in yard to run and play in. After all Humphrey has been through he certainly deserves a wonderful new life. If you are wondering how he eats after having part of his jaw removed we can tell you he has no problems with that. We do feed him soft canned food but if there is hard dry food out, he will try and eat that too! If you’re looking for a dog who will fill your days with fun, love, and endless tail wags, Humphrey is the perfect match. He’s a loving companion who will brighten up every moment! What is my personality like? Say hello to Humphrey, the most adorable and happiest little pup you’ll ever meet. His upbeat personality runs counter to his life experiences. Humphrey came to us after being hit by a car and having his jaw broken. This tough little guy spent three months running the streets with his jaw off to one side. We have no idea how he survived in such pain. Humphrey made visits to three different veterinary specialists within his first 36 hours here. He underwent emergency surgery to remove half of his jaw. Humphrey is healing beautifully and acts as though nothing happened. For all the pain and trauma he experienced, it turns out Humphrey is the happiest boy you will ever meet! Humphrey was in rough shape when he came to us—not underweight, but badly matted and smelly. After a good bath and grooming, he’s now the picture of health and charm. Humphrey now looks like he could be a model for a doggie calendar, but he may not sit still long enough for the perfect photo! Humphrey is the happiest boy you will ever meet! He gets along fine with all dogs, and he is almost always ready to play. Humphrey’s also a pro at naps so don’t be surprised if you hear him snoring away in his sleep! How do I act when I first meet new people? When Humphrey meets new people, he’s immediately friendly. He’ll jump up for attention, climb into your lap for some pets, and cover you with kisses. Other tips and tidbits: Humphrey was a stray. We do not know his exact birthdate. Our vet has estimated Humphrey to be about 6 years old and we celebrate his birthday as 01/01/2019. Story
Hi my name is Georgie.  I am a fabulous little miniature poodle who is 7 years old and I weigh 17 lbs.  I am an awesome little guy who is so very sad.  Today is the Sunday after Valentine's Day.  I spent Valentine's Day with my beloved mom and now I am in a strange home with 'other' dogs.  I miss my mom so much.  Her daughter told me that I was going to a loving foster home because my mom could no longer take proper care of me.  She was right but that did not help.  My foster mom is very nice and I know that I am safe and loved but....  It would be best for me to go ahead and find my forever home so that I do not have settle in twice.  I am a very sweet guy who loves adult people.  I would love to find a couple in their 50s or early 60s with no other dogs who would make me the center of their universe.  I am not being picky (well yes I am).  I don't ever want to go through the loss of my human again.  I am used to living with a woman but I also REALLY love men.  I know lots of tricks and would love to show you how smart I am.  I can shake hands,  high five, lie down, roll over and stand up and dance.  I am a little ham at heart.  I am paper trained but will do my business when you take me outside.  I do prefer that you go with me and would love a fence in yard of some sort.  I have no real health issues but I am allergic to chicken and a bit picky about what I eat.  I also have itchy skin but think that is because my mom bathed me too much.  I prefer going to the groomer and do need to go frequently.  I do need a new family that can afford to take care of me.  After all I think I am a prince.  I know how to walk on a leash but my favorite thing is to ride in my carriage.  (It is actually a stroller but I prefer carriage.)  I hope you have cried and then laughed at what I have had to say and that you are now ready to apply to be my true forever family.  I have been neutered and am current on all my shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.  To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (I am currently in Tennessee but can be transported to my forever family upon adoption.)February 17, 2025, 1:39 pm

Story
This handsome Miniature Poodle boy is called Wrigley and he is a young 3 year old, 14 pound sweetheart looking for a home.  His life started off with a breeder and he was purchased as a Christmas gift for young children who soon grew tired of the novelty puppy.  They were supposed to take care of him and the parents were not willing to pick up the slack for his care.  The solution was to put this poor 14 pound boy outside on a tie out in the cold elements of Winter.  A neighbor grew so concerned about him and asked if they would give him up to a rescue.  They fortunately agreed and soon this handsome Poodle was in the right hands that could change his life.  He needed to be neutered and it has been done with all other vetting.  Wrigley is a happy boy despite the lack of love and past care.  He seems to have been unfazed that he spent time alone outside and not receiving the real love and snuggles that he so freely gives now to his foster mom.  He is back to working on being housebroken due to the tie-out time he spent outside but is crate trained and we have groomed him just before neutering him.  He has a whole new life ahead of him and we have polished him up to look as dapper as he could before leaving for a new forever home. If you have been looking for a young Poodle to rescue and love then this is a rare opportunity to get a fully vetted boy with no hidden issues or fears.  He is fine with other dogs, cats and gets along great with everyone he meets. Wrigley was wonderful to the children in the first home even though they did not appreciate him. This treasure is just waiting for a miracle family to love him.  Could that be you?  He is in Tennessee and we transport northward almost every weekend.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 21, 2025, 9:36 pm
