Story
Smudge Breed: Poodle DOB: 2-26-2024 Gender: Male, neutered Weight: approx. 8 pounds Microchipped Adoption Fee: $400 Smudge is a sweet and shy little guy. Once he knows his people, he is happy to be with them. However, Smudge still has a way to go in his socialization. This means he needs to first meet his new family for about a week, then slowly get to know his neighborhood and then friends and extended family over time. He'll need to go to new places for new experiences, textures under his feet, and challenges he will need to overcome. Hiking area parks and walks on area Greenways are a must. Weekly adventures are a given! We are seeking an adult home for Smudge. We are also seeking a home with another well socialized dog. Yes, we will want to meet your other dog before the adoption can be completed! This is a lovely boy who was provided love and attention in his previous home, but did not have outside visitors and did not leave his property. This is why ongoing socialization is needed- although it would be needed anyway, as he is still just a puppy! His new family will be dedicated to training and working with him to overcome his shyness. We expect him to be a totally different dog in a year! He's sweet now and will be spectacular with just a bit of training! Good w/ Other Dogs- Yes, playful! Good w/ Cats- Likely Energy Level- Moderate Children- Seeking adult home Grooming Needs- High Walks on Leash- Reluctantly, but learning (you must continue training) Special Needs- No Knows basic commands- No Experienced Home- Required Good First Time Dog- Seeking an experienced home Rides well in car- Somewhat, may salivate Crate Trained- Yes Low Allergen- Yes Good apartment dog- No Fenced Yard- Required Adoptive homes within 1 hour of Raleigh, NC area only. All HEART dogs have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies, bordatella, distemper, parvo, adenovirus, and hepatitis. All are tested for heartworms and, if they test positive, have either been treated or provided alternative slow-kill treatment. Dogs are provided monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Story
Blue is a 13-year-old, 12lb black/grey Miniature Poodle. Blue might be an older pup but that doesn't stop him from being the ultimate love bug. Due to him being older, Blue does have cataracts and vision problems, so he will need someone patient who can help guide him. He does wear a belly band to minimize any marking but doesn't mind wearing them to keep your house clean! Blue is leash trained and doesn't really like the crate, but he will go in it, he just prefers to be on his person's lap! He loves treats and affection. If you think you can give Blue a happy home for the rest of his life, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Riley is a 14-year-old, 7 lb. Miniature Poodle. Riley is just about the sweetest dog you will ever meet! She can sometimes be mistaken for a stuffed animal because she is such a soft little fluffball. She is incredibly sweet and gentle with everyone and all she wants in life is to snuggle on your lap and be close to you. She would be an ideal pet for an older, calmer couple or person and would do best with someone who is home more often. She does love cuddling up to her foster dog siblings and prefers being around smaller dogs because they are less scary than the big ones to her. She is 100% potty-trained and only likes to go outside to do her business and then come right back in and find a warm spot on the couch. She also knows how to use potty pads too! She loves to help the kids in her foster home with their homework by keeping them company (check out her pictures for evidence!) She will watch over them and make sure they get all their work done too! When she wants your attention, she is oh so polite about it and will gently paw you until you give her some pets. Riley can't wait to settle down in her forever home and live out her golden years with a loving family! Riley does have cataracts in her right eye, but this does not seem to bother her. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Story
Sparky is an adorable little 7-year-old male yorkie-poo who loves nothing more than a nice snuggle and a soft place to snooze. This easy-going guy does great anywhere you take him. He's great in the car, in the pet store, at restaurants with outdoor seating, and on walks around the block. He's a wonderful companion who has lots of love to give to his forever people! Full disclosure: Sparky has strong marking behavior so he requires a belly band inside the home, which has been very easy to manage. A supply of washable, reusable bands will come with him.

Story
Harry is the sweetest little shihpoo you’ll ever meet. He is neutered and UTD on his vaccines. Harry loves to play with his foster siblings and especially loves to play tug of war and all things with squeakers. Harry does well walking on the leash and is a great companion in the car. He sleeps well in his crate at night and when we are not home. He’ll go right in the crate if you say “crate” and give him a little treat. He devours his dental chews and is very food motivated. He loves nothing more than curling up behind your knees or in your lap on the couch. We think Harry would do well in a home with another fur sibling to play with and continue to learn from. Harry is about 90% potty trained and is a great learner! He doesn’t jump up on you and has the potential to serve as a therapy dog with the proper time and training. Harry has so much love to give and will thrive in a home with structure, routine, training, cuddles, pets, and lots of love!
