Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs on to their new adopting families leaving in March 2025 from Southern California where we are located to the East Coast. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Phoebe to our trip for the right home 💕 As always, for peace of mind for our adopting families we never ask for ANYTHING up front. Adoption fee/travel costs are always due when we arrive in person with Phoebe in hand ❤️
Meet Phoebe. She is a beautiful white and gray parti colored purebred miniature poodle. She turned 1 on 2/7/25. She weighs 10 lbs. Yes, she is full grown and at a very healthy weight ❤️ She is spayed, current on her vaccines, microchipped, and had a thourel exam with our vet who has cleared her to find a home all her own ❤️
She is crate trained, and currently sleeps in her crate at night, all night very peacefully 💕 She has never been in bed with someone, but I'm sure she would love it if she could, but that would be completely dependent on what her new human wants ❤️ She does sleep on dogs beds in the home during the day, and does wonderful with that so you could incorporate a bed into your room next to yours, and she would be just fine with that arrangement as well!
She does very well with having a schedule throughout the day to use the restroom. She isn't a dog who tells you when she needs to go outside, so we just make sure we take her out throughout the day, and we don't have any accidents in between. I would recommend another similar schedule in her next home as it works very well here with her as is!
Leash training is new. She doesn't really know what to think of it, but in time as her confidence grows we are equally confident she will discover her love for the walks being on leash bring. She is just very shy, and is learning to embrace new things as they come her way, so she will definitely need continued training on leash but she is off to a pretty great start!
She is very sweet with all animals, cats and dogs alike! She lived in a home with cats prior to coming to us, so she is very familiar with them. Sadly one of the senior cats wasn't being very friendly with her, and they didn't want Phoebe to get hurt so they reached out to us to take her in and find her a better home. They said their other cats loved her, and she equally loved them but their senior just wasn't having it, and they had hoped he would get better in time, but as she grew so did his dislike for her 😢
She is NOT a barker, and is very serene tempered, and just quiet (it's just her personality!) She is calm, and enjoys just being a part of your company however she can. In the beginning she will definitely observe you, and eventually will become curious until she becomes your shadow ❤️ Time changes everything with her, so if you have the time to give, then you will see her blossom as we did!
She is not high energy! Don't let her age fool you one bit!!! She is an old soul, with a beautiful energy to her. Every now and again she likes to run in the yard, and you can see the joy radiating from her (it's beautiful!) Aside from that, she just hangs around the house, waiting to see what you are doing (so make It interesting 😂 cuz she truly will be your biggest fan!)
She has amazing house manners, and lounges around near by while you tend to whatever you have going on. She doesn't ask for anything, and is learning the warmth snuggles bring to her heart, so she patiently waits for them (so definitely make sure you add a snuggle session to your daily schedule 🙃 she will thank you for them, and you'll thank her too!)
Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/phoebe
It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip/registration, exam with our vet, the overall care involved in the time she has been with us, her grooming costs, and her training we have personally been doing with her ❤️
