Story
Meet Loki, a 6-year-old poodle mix who was surrendered to PK when his prior owner was no longer able to care for him. Loki weighs around 19 lbs. When he arrived, his hair was overgrown and matted. We have since shaved him and he’s much happier now! As a middle-aged dog, Loki is past all young dog behaviors—he’s potty-trained and can be trusted to roam free at home alone without getting into trouble. He really enjoys going on walks! Loki has exhibited sensitivity to handling at the shelter. Of course, he is in a stressful setting with strangers, so this may go away once in a loving home where he feels safe and trusts his human(s). Loki doesn’t have prior experience with other dogs, and we think he’d probably do best as an only dog. He can be cat-tested upon request. Given Loki’s sensitivity to handling, he must go to an adult-only home. Loki is ready for his next chapter and is in search of a patient owner who understands his sensitivities. Apply for Loki at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Peaceable Kingdom, PA Kennel License #04131, 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052

Story
We have a transport to the east coast where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving in the beginning of March 2025. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Max to our trip for the right home 💙 Meet Max 💙 He is a 1 year old Poodle/Maltese. He is set to be neutered on 12/17/24 and will officially be available for adoption soon after. He will be current on all vaccines, microchipped, thourely examined, and cleared by our vet prior to adoption. I don't have his weight but I'll update it here as soon as I do. He is crate trained, and currently sleeps in his crate at night to sleep or to nap during the day. He is very well behaved so if you were wanting to have him on a dog bed aside yours in your room in place of a crate I'm certain he will do wonderful with the change. He is house trained, and goes out to use the restroom when needed throughout the day. He does very well with a schedule, and will happily go out when asked to if he needs to 😊 He is doing okay on leash, he isn't bad on it just still learning confidence in the world. He is the sweetest boy ever, just a a bit shy! I'm confident in his ability to learn that leash time is a happy time and one worth getting excited about! He is wonderful with other dogs and cats alike and has a very docile, submissive demeanor. He would do wonderful having another animal friend in his home that was equally tempered 💙 He is NOT a barker. He is quiet, and calm. Don't let his age deter you, as he has an old soul and would make any home complete in a way only he could! He is a total charmer. Loves to be snuggled. Is very independent and will lounge around while you tend to your day waiting patiently for you to clear your time for him ☺️ He is wonderful on road trips around town, and is just always happy to be included in life's ventures. He does very well with our groomer, and has learned the comfort of a good spa day so we welcomes them every time with a wagging tail 💕 His prior owners were a young family that had never owned a dog before and thought they could juggle work, family, and a dog but they realized he was getting less and less attention and knew it wasn't fair to him whatsoever being on the back burner to their lives and wanted him to have more, like he deserved to have so they reached out to us here to take him in and find him a wonderful new home and humans to love ❤️ If you are in search of a sweet friend who will love you with every fiber of his heart, I assure you that you'll be grateful for the love Max has to give you💕 His adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/__max It covers his vet costs, the care associated in the time he has been here with us, his grooming costs, and the training we have personally done with him 💙

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Foster needed!!   When we met Rusty at the shelter, he was panicked. He had been surrendered by the only family he has ever known when they lost their home. Rusty is crate trained, enjoys car rides, like to fetch and walks nicely on leash but, we have to be honest, Rusty is not always easy. He is small but nippy - so he will require someone with experience. A home as an only dog or another very calm dog would be best.   Rusty will need a quieter environment in an all adult home. He will definitely need someone with patience to help him to settle in.  Rusty is 7 years old, only 9.6 pounds and looking for a second chance at love. He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. We are looking for a home with no children and someone who will work with us on acclimating him to his home.  * Please note you must live within 90 minutes of Chester, NJ to be consideredVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 5, 2024, 1:46 pm

Story
Meet Monnie, a 1 1/2-year-old Poodle mix! He wears a long curly white coat and now weighs 45 pounds, but still has a little filling in to do. Monnie came in very emaciated with mats all over him, hence the short coat. He was very shy and fearful when he first arrived but is now showing his wonderful personality to everyone! Monnie is a very playful and goofy dog, always running around jumping with a smile on his face. He does prefer to be the only dog in a household though, as he wants the spotlight all to himself. Adopt this sweet and silly boy and let him fill your life with love and laughter! (ME, 9/29/24)**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.November 12, 2024, 4:09 pm

Story
Meet Shaggy - an affectionate, friendly, gentle, and playful senior dog! This happy boy is a snuggle bug who enjoys spending his days lounging around, going on nice walks, playing with his favourite toys, and eating frozen food-stuffed Kongs. Despite his cataracts, Shaggy gets around just fine and can jump on couches and beds with minor assistance. He is crate-trained but prefers to spend his time with his people or his foster dog siblings. He even gets along with cats! Shaggy is housebroken, uses a pee pad, and is crate-trained. He already knows basic commands like "sit" and "shake" and can be left free in the house as he doesn't destroy things. He is also very food-motivated and always comes running when he hears the sound of a treat! At 11 years old, Shaggy is an easy-going and low-maintenance senior dog who is just looking for a loving home where he can spend his golden years. He has so much love and affection to give and will provide endless snuggles and companionship. If you think you can give Shaggy the loving home he deserves, please submit an adoption application today. Let's find this sweet boy his forever home! Shaggy weighs about 29 pounds. Update: Our vet has determined Shaggy has food allergies and is doing great on a prescription diet which has been helping with his skin and fur allergies/sensitivity. He is itching much less. He is currently getting monthly cytopoint shots while his skin is healing. Shaggy also was seen by an eye specialist and it was determined that, although he would be able to undergo anesthesia, he has an additional eye issue that would keep him from having successful cataract procedure. *Please note we currently have two dogs with similar names. Please refer to this dog as Shaggy#2 when filling out your application or emailing to avoid any confusions or delays in processing.* We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to please submit an application on our website today so that we can try and process and pre-approve any potential adopters prior to our next adoption event.
