Story
Meet Croissant! Croissant is a 3 year-old, 6 pound Toy Poodle who is sweet as sugar.
Once Croissant (carefully) meets you, she'll start to bestow tiny kisses to your fingers or nose. She's happiest laying on someone's lap or curled up next to you, or in your arms. She is doing amazingly with potty training (cheese and showing excitement as a reward is a big winner!), but she's still working to adjust to the hustle and bustle of New York streets - so far, she's only felt safe enough to go potty in the backyard or in the park grass. When she feels comfortable, she gets quite the little personality and likes to dance and zoom around.
Croissant is still slowly building up her confidence in the outside world, but she's very accepting of love and companionship. She's comfortable being in her crate cuddled in a blanket with white noise on. Croissant is a small dog parent's dream, really - a quiet, sweet tiny girl who just wants to be cuddled and loved. If she sounds like the perfect pup for you, apply to adopt Croissant today!
Croissant is currently being fostered in Brooklyn, NY, and her adoption fee is $600.
Croissant is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
