Marlin will be available 5/20/2024 but is accepting applications. He is an old man who spent his life as a breeder so is a nervous dog. He will need a fully fenced in yard. He likes to be held but will not approach anyone at this time. He is sweet and would benefit from a quiet home. He is getting fixed and having several teeth removed 5/14 so needs time to recover, and will likely only have 1-2 teeth left.

Meet Jacob!Jacob is a 14-year-old, 13-pound apricot Mini Poodle who’s ready to spend his golden years surrounded by love. He’s house-trained and communicates when he needs to go outside—though he may need frequent potty breaks. While he doesn’t enjoy the crate, Jacob sleeps through the night without accidents.Despite some potential vision and hearing loss, Jacob’s affectionate nature shines. He loves burrowing in for snuggles and then settling in for a nap, always preferring to be close to his person. His calm demeanor makes him easy to have around, and he rarely gets overstimulated.Jacob also enjoys playing with toys and even a little fetch, showing bursts of youthful energy. He’s mobile, able to climb stairs, and enjoys half-mile walks, though his gait is a bit awkward. Meet Winston! Winston is a spunky miniature poodle mix who was found as a stray. He was initially nervous towards the good samaritans that rescued him in rural Missouri, but was quick to warm up once he was brought to us and realized he was safe. He is estimated to be about 6 years old and is 12lbs. Since being with us, he has been groomed, neutered, had an oral procedure to clean his teeth, and given lots of love from the staff. He does well on a leash outside for potty breaks and keeps his kennel clean throughout the day. He has met a couple of dogs that are larger than him, and he really liked playing with them! We think that Winston would love a home where he can be a lap dog and maybe play with some toys! His adoption fee is $400. The adoption fee includes their care, de-worming, microchip, neuter, vaccines, fecal test, and preventatives up to the point of adoption. In addition to their adoption fee, there is a $40 fee to cover the 6 months of heartworm prevention we will send home with each adoptee. ** NO YOUNG KIDS ** Meet PIERRE! A Handsome Black Miniature Poodle, 7 yrs old, 13 lbs. (in process of losing about 2-3 lbs) Pierre came from a home of physical and mental abuse but has bounced back well. He is such a sweetheart! But sometimes he becomes growly/snippy to dogs who walk by him or bigger dogs. Does better with small laid back, calmer dog and you use 'correction' if Pierre becomes pushy (see his video attached, taken before grooming, very sweet!) He really LOVES his people and will sit with you often unless he is curled up in one of the beds around his foster home. He is housebroken but every once in a while, he may lift his leg, but if you catch him, he'll stop. Pierre rides well in the car and walks on a leash. He plays with toys occasionally but isn't usually interested. Pierre's Perfect Family will either have a laid back calm companion dog or be only dog, be able to sit with you often and he promises to be very excited to see you and watch you eat at the kitchen table! If you are interested, complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Pierre’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
