Story
Meet Hershey 🐾🍫 Hershey may be a little guy, but he’s got a BIG personality and isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts! He’s full of character, charm, and just the right amount of sass to keep you smiling. Whether he’s telling you how he feels or soaking up attention, Hershey makes sure you know he’s there—and you’ll love every second of it. Hershey does go home with medications that are important for keeping him feeling his best. He’ll need an adopter who can stick to his routine and give his meds consistently, but in return you’ll have a happy, thriving little companion by your side. With structure, love, and someone who appreciates his bold personality, Hershey will be an incredibly fun and loyal addition to the right home 💛🐾 - Around 3 years 9 months old - Currently under 15lbs - Good with dogs - Prefers kids 12+ - Adoption fee: $300 This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
Meet Dottie May This very senior little lady may be just 4 lbs, but she still has so much love left to give. Dottie is looking for a special kind of home—one that understands she’s in her final chapter, but not ready to say goodbye just yet. She has a significant heart murmur, is blind, and has little to no hearing. But what she does have is a gentle spirit and a whole lot of love. All she’s asking for is a soft dog bed, kind and patient hands, and someone who will let her spend the rest of her days feeling safe and cared for. Dottie doesn’t need much—just comfort, understanding, and a quiet place to rest. She deserves to know what it feels like to be truly loved in a home of her own. Note: Dottie does have a few mats in her fur, but they aren’t pulling, and we don’t want to cause her any stress trying to remove them. Do you have room in your heart and home for Dottie May? If so, we would love to hear from you.We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support. May 15, 2026, 12:39 pm

MARL ARRIVAL: Strays BACKGROUND: Bucky (the older, black-furred pup) and Winter (the younger, white-furred cutie) are a lovable bonded pair who are ready to find their forever family—together. These two are relaxed, friendly as can be, and always happy to share affection… especially in the form of kisses! They enjoy getting out for walks and soaking up some fresh air, but they’re just as content living the cozy life. Dog beds, couch cuddles, and curling up in your lap are all high on their list of favorite things. Whether you’re looking for laid-back companions to keep you company at home or sweet little sidekicks for easy adventures, Bucky and Winter fit the bill perfectly. If you’re ready to double the love (and the kisses), Bucky and Winter are waiting to meet you! Story
Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!
