Meet Dottie May This very senior little lady may be just 4 lbs, but she still has so much love left to give. Dottie is looking for a special kind of home—one that understands she’s in her final chapter, but not ready to say goodbye just yet. She has a significant heart murmur, is blind, and has little to no hearing. But what she does have is a gentle spirit and a whole lot of love. All she’s asking for is a soft dog bed, kind and patient hands, and someone who will let her spend the rest of her days feeling safe and cared for. Dottie doesn’t need much—just comfort, understanding, and a quiet place to rest. She deserves to know what it feels like to be truly loved in a home of her own. Note: Dottie does have a few mats in her fur, but they aren’t pulling, and we don’t want to cause her any stress trying to remove them. Do you have room in your heart and home for Dottie May? Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
