Puff is: Spayed: Not yet, she will be spayed after she completes her heartworm treatment and a $50 refundable spay deposit will be required. Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Puff: Housebroken: She has done well on a consistent routine with regular potty breaks, going out every few hours. Crate trained: She has done well with free roam when at home alone, but she has not been left at home solo much in her foster home. Leash walking: Doing well, though she is not a huge fan of the cold Dog social: Yes! She lives with 2 small resident dogs in her foster home and has been doing very well with them. Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: Unknown Puff likes: - Laying her head on your shoulder and snuggling her head under your chin - Learning all about toys, treats, and living in a loving home - A good cuddle session with you, or a dog pal Puff is the sweetest fluffy gal who absolutely craves human touch, loves to be curled up next to her person, adores a good belly rub, and will reach out with her little feet to say "don't stop". She doesn't really understand what to do with toys and stuffies, and isn't one to take treats from your hand, so she has a lot to look forward to in learning how to be a beloved dog in a loving family! Puff is heartworm positive and on activity restriction. Puff is undergoing treatment at Ellis Clinic at no charge to their adopter. Heartworm is a treatable disease that most dogs make a full recovery from. Judy girl is ready for her forever home. Judy came into the rescue after being a breeder release from a mass production mill situation. She is estimated to be about 3 years old and the perfect size for your forever friend. Things to note about Judy: - She is a bit of a timid girl. Though she begins to trust and wants to be by your side, she will need a patient family to allow her the space to get there. - Judy definitely is prefers women over men, so warming up to a man will be a slow process. With that being said, she would not do well in a single man household but would be okay for a couple who has a women to help provide a sense of safety. - Because of how nervous she gets with loud noises and fast movements a home without children, or with adult children only is preferred. - She likes to eat alone in the sense that she gets a little nervous when people are watching her. Shy girl! - She does require a home with a yard. Currently the leash is a scary thing and feels safer without it so walks are not in her cards right now. - She does require a home with a confident dog to help her continue to come out of her shell. The ability to follow them has helped her make wonderful strides! Judy is available for adoption within 3 hours of Chicago. Lorraine is estimated to be about 6 years old. She came to us from a commercial breeder looking for a new start to her forever. Lorraine has been in a foster home learning what it is like to be loved and just be a dog. With that being said, it is the first time that she has lived in a home and so there are a lot of firsts for her. Lorraine is looking for a home that can provide love and patience. She is currently working on crate training. She is working on leash training and has come so far already. She has learned how to play and enjoys the company of another dog. She doesn't need another dog in her forever home but would enjoy one if so! She had a great first grooming experience. Lorraine is looking for an adopter if her forever match is found after 2/12. If her forever home is found prior to that date she will be looking at a foster to adopt who can commit to her spay and dental procedure on 2/12 which is being done at our city vet in Irving Park. Lorraine's adoption fee includes her spay, dental, updated vaccines and preventatives, heartworm negative and microchip. Finley is being fostered in PA. Finley is a very sweet, gentle, 8 year old mixed breed boy who loves all people and gets along great with other dogs and cats. He is much more interested in his human and being right with his human than he is about other animals. Finley is a spry, healthy little man who was excellent for his grooming and at his first vet appointment where he had blood drawn and was given vaccines. Everyone comments on how sweet he is and his foster mom thinks he's pretty much perfect. Finley has some vision and is very able to follow his foster mom all over the house. He quickly learned how to go up stairs and he can come down them well now, unless they are new to him. He is apprehensive on unfamiliar stairs and needs help getting started but then he's fine. Finley has sporadic skin issues that seem to cause his hair to be a bit thinner on his back end and belly. These issues may be caused by seasonal allergies but we are not exactly certain of the cause yet. Finley appears to understand potty

Piper is being fostered in PA. Piper is a gentle and quiet little guy who is fairly new to his foster home (January 2025). He can be found napping and usually changes beds so he makes it like a game of hide and seek to check on him. Piper is a bit skittish as far as being handled, especially with his head and face. He seems as though he's not been cuddled in a long time or else he is very timid in his new setting away from his original owner. He will take some time to learn to trust people and not pull away. If he is not being held, he does enjoy pets and scratches on his head and body, just not when being held. He is very good at finding his way around his foster home and will investigate or will follow his foster mom when it's meal time. There are also times he needs to be awakened from a deep sleep to eat. Piper is still adjusting to his new life. The first few days he would need his bedding changed about every 12 hours because he would mess in it but that has decreased to a very occasional poo on his blanket. He may always need to wear a belly band but he seems to hit the potty pads that are placed right off his beds most of the time. Piper rides well in the car but does tremble at the beginning of the ride and when taken somewhere unfamiliar. Piper needs to be carried up and down stairs. He loves to investigate outside but hasn't had much time to do that since it's been frigid where he lives and he has little hair after needing to have a matted coat shaved off for comfort. Piper is very good with small and large dogs, cats and people of all ages. Because of his skittish temperament, a home with children under 10 is not recommended for Piper. Piper's physical exam at the vet was good, however, we are watching his blood work because it is showing signs of possible kidney issues. An update will be posted as soon as we know more detailed information on this issue. His foster mom would like to add that at the shelter he was given an age of 10 years but in his foster mom's opinion she thinks he could be a bit older; It's a secret Piper's not willing to share. He is an amazing little man who just needs a little work on his timid demeanor and a wonderful, quiet home with lots of beds and blankets to snuggle into (he loves the beds next to the radiators in his foster home). His perfect family is out there and he's so excited to meet you! BDRA has voted against the use of electric fencing effective immediately.

Oodles of poodles, schnoodles, doodles, moodles, toodles as the "H" litter are Poodle mixes - but with what, we are not sure as each reminds the team of all different types from Schnauzers to Border Terriers to Wire Haired Pointers - but, there is no doubt, all are MAGNIFICENT! These 8 week old pups weigh between 6-8lbs and have different coat colors and characteristics to please just about anyone! The 5 girls and 2 boys are so adorable and will be in high demand! Because we do not know their mix, there is no way to predict if they are 'hypoallergenic' We recommend training for all our puppies! **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance.
