Meet Winston! Winston is a spunky miniature poodle mix who was found as a stray. He was initially nervous towards the good samaritans that rescued him in rural Missouri, but was quick to warm up once he was brought to us and realized he was safe. He is estimated to be about 6 years old and is 12lbs. Since being with us, he has been groomed, neutered, had an oral procedure to clean his teeth, and given lots of love from the staff. He does well on a leash outside for potty breaks and keeps his kennel clean throughout the day. He has met a couple of dogs that are larger than him, and he really liked playing with them! We think that Winston would love a home where he can be a lap dog and maybe play with some toys! His adoption fee is $400. The adoption fee includes their care, de-worming, microchip, neuter, vaccines, fecal test, and preventatives up to the point of adoption. In addition to their adoption fee, there is a $40 fee to cover the 6 months of heartworm prevention we will send home with each adoptee. ** NO YOUNG KIDS ** Meet PIERRE! A Handsome Black Miniature Poodle, 7 yrs old, 13 lbs. (in process of losing about 2-3 lbs) Pierre came from a home of physical and mental abuse but has bounced back well. He is such a sweetheart! But sometimes he becomes growly/snippy to dogs who walk by him or bigger dogs. Does better with small laid back, calmer dog and you use 'correction' if Pierre becomes pushy (see his video attached, taken before grooming, very sweet!) He really LOVES his people and will sit with you often unless he is curled up in one of the beds around his foster home. He is housebroken but every once in a while, he may lift his leg, but if you catch him, he'll stop. Pierre rides well in the car and walks on a leash. He plays with toys occasionally but isn't usually interested. Pierre's Perfect Family will either have a laid back calm companion dog or be only dog, be able to sit with you often and he promises to be very excited to see you and watch you eat at the kitchen table! Pierre’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. This little Golden Gal came to Rescue after her mommy went to assisted care. She's just completed her vetting and is looking for a quiet home and a nice soft lap to snuggle up in. She's dog friendly, house-trained, she is crate trained but doesn't require being crated. She loves going for an occasional walk and she's a perfect little passenger. Cece is just 11.2 lbs, 9 yrs old and only a couple of toofers in her mouth. Meet Cindy! Cindy is a special little lady. She’s 6 years old, weighs around 11.5 pounds, and came to us after being used as a puppy mill momma. When her former owners no longer needed her, she was discarded and arrived with heartworms. Cindy has successfully completed her heartworm treatment and is now ready for her forever home. She is incredibly sweet but still shy. Cindy is learning to trust people and can be skittish, even with her foster mom still. While she goes potty outside, she does occasionally have accidents indoors but reliably uses a potty pad when needed. She’s also working on leash training, which will help her feel more confident about going potty outside. Cindy would thrive in a home with another dog around her size to help her feel confident and secure. She does well with cats and would do best in a child-free home or one with older, considerate children. Cindy needs a patient and understanding home that will give her the time and space to adjust at her own pace and Cindy will flourish in a home where she feels safe and cared for. Marlin will be available 5/20/2024 but is accepting applications. He is an old man who spent his life as a breeder so is a nervous dog. He will need a fully fenced in yard. He likes to be held but will not approach anyone at this time. He is sweet and would benefit from a quiet home. He is getting fixed and having several teeth removed 5/14 so needs time to recover, and will likely only have 1-2 teeth left.

Kirkland will be available after his Neuter 1/16/2024. He would do best in a home with no young kids since he can be skittish and run out of the door. He was found running and took over 24 hours to trap, so a secure fenced in yard is a must. He loves to snuggle and get attention and is working on crate training.
