I AM IN FOSTER CARE! PLEASE FILL OUT AN OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION. ONCE APPROVED,  GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU TO MEET ME! Born: August 28, 2020 I am 10lbs and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $550 I am from a puppy mill situation. It is going to take time and patience for me to acclimate to my new home.  Meet Ghost! Ghost is a 10-pound poodle with a heartwarming story. He came to AHS after being rescued from a puppy mill that had been shut down. This little guy does great with other dogs and is making wonderful progress with house training. He's highly food-motivated, which helps with training, and he's starting to enjoy playtime with other dogs and show interest in toys. Ghost would thrive in a home with older children, as he can be startled by fast movements and may nip out of fear. With patience and love, Ghost is sure to continue blossoming into an amazing companion! Story
Meet Barney and Bambi: A Bonded Pair Searching for Their New Beginning Barney and Bambi are two deeply loved dogs who have spent their lives bringing joy and comfort to their owner. Sadly, their owner is now seriously ill and unable to care for them, and Safe Haven has been entrusted with the important mission of finding these sweethearts a foster or forever home where they can live out their days together. Barney is a gentle, wise senior at 17 years young. With his laid-back and affectionate personality, he’s happiest when snuggled up for a nap or quietly enjoying your company. He’s a daycare favorite, making friends easily with both humans and other dogs. Bambi, the younger of the two at 10 ½, is full of life and love despite living with congestive heart failure. He’s doing great on his medication, showing no signs of discomfort. Bambi’s cheerful, playful nature and affectionate demeanor light up every room he enters. Like Barney, he’s a social butterfly, delighting in making new friends at daycare. Together, Barney and Bambi are the perfect pair—inseparable, loyal, and endlessly charming. Whether they’re sharing a cozy bed, looking for their next treat, or mingling with their daycare buddies, their bond and resilience shine through. Though they’re understandably a bit confused by the recent changes in their lives, they’ve shown incredible adaptability and continue to spread love wherever they go. Barney and Bambi are looking for a home where they can stay together, offering their new family unconditional love and endless cuddles. Could you be the one to give this amazing duo the second chance they deserve? To foster or adopt Barney and Bambi, please reach out to Safe Haven today! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

Story
Meet Max!  He is a young and energetic Pomeranian-Poodle mix around 2 yrs old.  He loves his dog and humans friends, especially if they want to play.  He would do well in a home that has the same high energy as him, although he will sit and snuggle on the couch after a long day.  He has never met a cat so we aren't sure how he would do with them.  He doesn't really like fast, jerky movements, so kids are not a great idea for this guy.  He does great in the car, is crate trained and potty trained.  He is okay with walks but will need some more work on the leash.  He would do best with a fenced in yard as he is known to run around and will wander off.  Bigger dogs do make him a little nervous at first and he doesn't realize boundaries because he just wants to play.  He seems to be nervous of men and will need an experienced owner to help with some training and confidence. Overall he is a sweet guy looking for a fun and loving family.  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500 To adopt Max, email us at kakf3133@gmail.comNovember 30, 2024, 10:10 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.* Jasper is a 8-9 month old, neutered,  43 lb Labradoodle with lots of puppy energy and cuteness. Jasper catches on quickly, he already knows sit and has mastered the stairs, which he was terrified of at first. Jasper is crate trained for when his fosters leave home and sleeps in it at night. He's a minimal barker and is working on leash training. He gets along well with kids and other dogs.  He has not been around cats. He's sweet as can be and coming out of his shell with affection and wanting to be around humans more (he hid under the table the first few days but now comes on the couch for cuddles). He's still a big puppy so loves to chew on most everything (including fingers and toes) but is learning that this is not a good thing.  He will need a patient adopter who will be committed to working on training with him as well as ensuring he gets plenty of exercise.  Jasper’s adoption fee is $400 and includes his completed wellness visit,  microchip and age appropriate vaccinations.   *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications. Story
Please allow us to introduce you to Praline! This dainty Miniature Poodle is 3 years old and she weighs about 20 pounds. Praline is just the sweetest, and beautiful, too! Her long legs and melting brown eyes woo everyone she meets. While she's not a playmate, she coexists peacefully with dogs she knows. She is learning to trust new humans and new dogs with her foster family's guidance. You see, Praline hasn't known life as a beloved pet prior to joining her foster home, so she is learning all about how to be a family pup! She's oh-so-smart, she has already mastered walking on a leash, going up and down the stairs, and she does very well using potty pads. She loves to prance in the yard, and enjoys going for a stroll around the neighborhood. With some patience and reassurance, she bonds to her humans - she now follows her foster mom around during the day and curls up near her at night :) Once Praline decompresses and starts to get to hang of her future family's routine, she'll be the best buddy and a wonderful addition! Please apply if you can give Praline the life she so deserves! Praline's adoption fee is $625
