Story
Hello, I’m Starbucks, AKA “Starbies” . . . a black with white miniature poodle blend girl (possibly a schnoodle).  I am 3 years old and weigh 16 lbs.  I am looking to find my FURever home where I can be loved and give lots of love in return.  I hope you enjoy reading more about me!   General Behavior: Starbies is a social butterfly and is described as athletic, resilient, curious and adventurous.  She likes to offer kisses and is a snuggly girl.  She came to PPR being very fearful of men but has come a long way thanks to her patient foster mom who has worked hard with her to overcome that fear.  In her new home, she may need a little time to trust an adult male to feel safe. While she is very playful, she is also independent at times and fine doing her own thing. She is somewhat active, but also laid back and chill. Likes & Dislikes: Starbies loves toys, and squeaky ones are her favorite.  She loves car rides.  As her name suggests, her favorite place to go is Starbucks to get her pup cup. She would rate chasing lizards in the yard high on her list of fun things to do, and also loves to play catch.  This silly girl is quirky in that she only likes to eat out of a non-metal dish. Training: Starbies is housebroken when let out on a regular schedule. She walks well on a leash and has good basic manners.   She is food-motivated, which lends itself to easier positive reinforcement training. Medical: Starbies is a healthy girl who just requires her monthly heartworm and flea prevention, like any other dog. Other Animals: Starbies is experienced with dogs of all sizes, both calmer dogs and playful ones.  She would do well in a home with another dog or would be just as happy being the only dog in her new home. She has not been tested with cats, but it would probably not be the best fit for her. Children: Sensational Starbies does well with kids of all ages.  In fact, she is very affectionate with kids and adults once she is comfortable in her environment.  Of course, younger children should always be supervised by grown-ups in the home. Home:  Starbies’ perfect home would be one with a fenced yard.  She loves to do her zoomies, chase those lizards and play catch.  She can be left alone at home for several hours with no issues, and she has free reign in her foster home. After a day of play, this girl will gladly snuggle up and dream the night away in the “human bed”, which puts her in the perfect position to offer more kisses. Grooming:  Starbies will likely require professional grooming.  In between grooming, she loves her “spa bath day” at home.  She doesn’t mind the blow dryer and falls asleep when getting brushed. Nail trims will be needed on a regular basis as well. Overall: Starbies would be the perfect family dog or great with a single person.  She truly is a gentle soul looking for patience, love and commitment.  If that is something you can offer, she might just be the perfect pet for you. Are you the one for Starbies?  Please visit our website, www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt.  You’ll be put in contact with her foster family if it’s a potential match.  Starbies is fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped.  Her adoption donation is $500. ##2174824##

Story
Finley is being fostered in PA. Finley is a very sweet, gentle, 8 year old mixed breed boy who loves all people and gets along great with other dogs and cats. He is much more interested in his human and being right with his human than he is about other animals. Finley is a spry, healthy little man who was excellent for his grooming and at his first vet appointment where he had blood drawn and was given vaccines. Everyone comments on how sweet he is and his foster mom thinks he's pretty much perfect. Finley has some vision and is very able to follow his foster mom all over the house. He quickly learned how to go up stairs and he can come down them well now, unless they are new to him. He is apprehensive on unfamiliar stairs and needs help getting started but then he's fine. Finley has sporadic skin issues that seem to cause his hair to be a bit thinner on his back end and belly. These issues may be caused by seasonal allergies but we are not exactly certain of the cause yet. Finley appears to understand potty training but because he is not neutered, he is marking a little, living in a house with other dogs, but he wears a belly band very well. This should improve significantly after he is neutered. Finley is scheduled to be neutered on November 20th and then he will be all set to find his forever family. They will be very lucky people to add this adorable man to their home. He has so much to give and wants nothing more than to be your best friend. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Frosty is a sweet old boy who has special needs and if he gets adopted will most likely be a hospice home. He is happy to lounge around the house and sleep in his bed. We believe he has doggy dementia and sometimes gets lost & confused. Frosty is also blind and deaf with ongoing kidney issues. What Frosty really needs is a quiet home with someone who wants to take care of him. Frosty does potty outside but we would not consider him housetrained due to his frequent accidents inside. Frosty has been fixed, vaccinated, tested negative for heart worms, microchipped, up to date on flea and heartworm prevention and dewormed. If interested in adding Frosty to your family please contact 321-271-4041 or email hopeforbrevard@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 10:42 pm
