Meet Luca, a charming 3-year-old, 12-pound pup with a heart as big as his personality!   Luca is a people-loving pup who warmed up quickly to the friendly faces at his recent photo session—he even climbed right into a stranger’s lap for some snuggles! He walks beautifully on a leash and does great in a pen when left at home alone. He’s house-trained, gentle, adaptable, and has no food aggression.   Like many smaller dogs, Luca prefers a calm and patient introduction to new people. He tends to bond more quickly with women but, with a little time and trust, he becomes just as affectionate with men. He has been through a lot of sudden changes recently, and while he may need some reassurance at first, he’s ready to settle into a loving and stable home where he can truly shine.   Luca would do best with someone who understands that he thrives on companionship. He's a velcro dog, wanting to be by your side, or in your arms, every step of the way. While he isn’t a fan of crates when he's at home (prefers a pen), he travels well in a soft-sided carrier. He knows "sit" and has great recall—proof that he’s a smart little guy with plenty of potential! He's getting along well with other dogs in his foster home and shows little interest in the cats.   If you're looking for a devoted, affectionate, and ready-to-love companion, Luca just might be your perfect match!   Luca's adoption fee is $600 - Obedience training and fully fenced in yard is required for all our pups To apply to foster or adopt please fill out application at www.heidislegacydogrescue.com/apply-to-foster-or-adopt Thank you for completing the application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Reef turned one year old in February. His DNA test came back as a cross between a toy and miniature poodle. That makes him the perfect size. He is a beautiful copper-colored poodle with a black tail and dark markings on his ears and his back. This little 9lb powerhouse is determined to enjoy life, no matter what it throws at him. He is all puppy and loves to play. He would like another similar sized dog to play with. He plays hard.  Reef is looking for a patient home that has time to continue to spoil him in the manner he is accustomed. He is currently fostered with numerous other pups. His ideal home would be one that mommy/daddy are home most of the time and that doesn't mind a sweet, loving, velcro dog.  Unlimited kisses are the reward.  Some things we know about Reef are that he is differently abled. He appears to have some type of neurological situation. It just makes him look a bit wonky at times. And he is prone to fall down. Reef wears a diaper while indoors, as he doesn't seem to have a control of his bladder, and it keeps messes to a minimum.  Reef is available to adopt. If you are the special family that gets lucky enough to give this boy the home he deserves, the rewards will be big. NAME:  Dominic BREED:  Poodle/Rat Terrier mix SEX:  male COLOR:  black/white AGE:  7 months as of Dec 2024 WEIGHT:  7.7 lbs as of Dec 2024   FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN: NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Hi! My name is Dominic, but my foster mom calls me Fluffy because I’m so soft. I love to play with my foster siblings and I’m a good follower, so I would like a friend who will rough house with me and that I can follow to gain my confidence. I overheard my mom say I’m “special” because I have four legs, but only three feet. I’m not sure what special means, but I don’t let it bother me one bit! I keep up with the pack and can jump, run, and play. I love belly rubs and will show anyone my belly to get them. I also like to give kisses. I’m 90% potty trained and I’m kennel trained. I would like a home where I can have lots of affection, a companion, and a fence. I don’t understand leash walking, I like to be independent when I potty. I’m a little guy with a big heart, three paws and lots of love to give. Will you give me a furever home?  Dominic came from a confiscation case (along with his siblings and mom) but unfortunately poor Dominic had gotten his foot caught in the rabbit cage that he was stuck in and sadly chewed off his foot to get loose.  He is doing amazing and hasn't let that stop him from being a happy little guy!   If you are interested in adopting please complete our Adoption Application by copying and pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.caninecastaways.org/adoption-application For a full list of dogs we currently have for adoption use this link:  https://www.caninecastaways.org/adoptable-dogs MEDICAL INFO: The following has been or will be done for this puppy at the appropriate age... - Basic Exam by Veterinarian - Spayed or Neutered - Placed on heartworm preventive - Basic Bloodwork - Microchipped - Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication - Vaccinations - Placed on flea preventive ADOPTION DONATION: $400 This adoption donation helps to cover the vet expenses for this puppy including heartworm preventive which is dispensed at the initial vet visit and then goes with the dog at adoption.
