Story
Marty is being fostered in PA. 1-17-2026 Update for Marty Marty is doing really well in his foster home and is still a spunky little man with a bit of arthritis in his backend but it doesn't slow him down. Marty's hearing continues to be pretty good for his age and he is right in the mix of his foster siblings when Mom comes home after being out for any time. Marty's hair has grown in nicely on his back. He was almost bald when he came to his foster home. Marty's foster mom had never seen a change in a foster's personality quite as drastic as she did following Marty's dental, when all of his teeth had to be removed. Some teeth were so badly decayed that they had begun to calcify and attach to his jaw bones. After a few days of recovery, he began to eat and to be interested in the world. Marty eats soaked kibble with some soft food mixed in and eats every bite of each meal. He is now on 4 medications for his congestive heart failure and is doing very well with just an occasional cough. Fun facts about Marty: -He LOVES burrowing into beds that have a flap for him to crawl under -He is not safe when on furniture because he will quickly decide he wants off and give no warning and has no fear. -Marty never barks -Marty is smaller than the two cats in his foster home and really doesn't care. :) Little Marty is a sweet, easy-going little mini poodle guy who gets along with dogs and cats and people of all ages. His breed is guessed at as a full blooded mini poodle. His estimated age is about 13 but he's a very quick-stepping little man and enjoys exploring his environment, especially outside. He can find his way to the door and he was doing a great job at pottying outside until his foster mom went back to work a couple weeks ago. He will be very easy to get back in the habit of eliminating outside with a forever family who is home more. He's fairly easy to figure out in that, if he's up and exploring, he needs to go out. :) Marty has a very thin coat of fur on his torso but he does not have any visible skin issues and does not itch. His thyroid levels were checked and were fine. We know little about his past life so he may be recuperating from a past issue. Marty is leash trained and does well but because he's a small and older guy, walks won't be very fast. He also rides well in the car. At this time, he seems to enjoy dog bed hopping over being on a lap and he will walk right off the edge of a chair or bed. He needs to be carried up and down stairs and has no awareness of being at the top of stairs. He will remind his foster mom if his breakfast or dinner is overly late. Marty has had a slight cough since arriving in his foster home and following an xray on September 16th, it was discovered that his heart is slightly enlarged and he has a small amount of fluid in the upper portion of his one lung. These are both signs of congestive heart failure, which is fairly common in little old men like Marty. He will probably need to take Benazepril, Lasix and Pimobendan for the rest of his life. These medications run about 50.00 per month. Marty will have a dental on September 26th. He will probably need to have most, if not all, of his teeth extracted but it will be so much better for him to have a healthy mouth again! Marty will make a sweet little companion for some family. He's very excited to be spoiled and doted on for the rest of his days. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application Say hello to Peanut! The tiniest little doodle mix with the biggest personality! Toys are Peanut’s love language. He loves chew toys, stuffed toys, balls… if it squeaks, bounces, or can be proudly carried around, he’s all in. He also has a serious appreciation for treats (and honestly, who can blame him?), and he’ll gladly follow you around just to see what fun adventure you’re up to next. He’s your ultimate little shadow in the cutest way possible. Peanut is a friendly, social pup who loves meeting new people and soaking up attention like it’s his full-time job. He’s brave, curious, and always ready to make a new friend. With other dogs? He’s playful and ready to join in the fun. Cats? He's more interested in stealing their food! When he's not, he mostly gives them a polite “hmm, interesting…” and then goes on his merry little way. He hasn’t met kids yet, but with his sweet and gentle nature, he’s likely to charm them too! For a puppy, Peanut is doing fantastic! He’s about 90% there with potty training and already knows how to go outside when prompted. He’s just still figuring out how to let you know when it’s time. He’s also crate trained, happily settling in for naps and sleeping through the night (he might give a little puppy protest at first, but then he’s out like a light). Peanut already knows his name, comes when called, understands “inside” and “no,” and is working hard on learning “sit.” He’s got a perfect adaptable energy level, ready to play and zoom, but just as happy to flop down with a chew toy or curl up for some cuddle time and watch the world go by. If you’re looking for a playful, silly, and loving little sidekick who will keep you smiling every single day, Peanut is ready to wiggle his way right into your heart (and probably onto your lap).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 25, 2026, 10:53 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Dolly is a 10 to 12-year-old, 9lb. miniature poodle mix with a heart full of love and a calm, gentle manner. She is well-behaved, house trained and is an all-around good girl. Dolly gets along well with other dogs and adores people - she loves everyone she meets. Dolly recently met a cat and a child and was timid with both. She greets her person with happy yaps when she returns home. When Dolly is given a correction, she cutely rolls over, tail wagging and begs for mercy. Her sweet nature shines through in every interaction. Dolly is afraid of storms and is comforted by cuddles and reassuring hugs, is good with baths, being picked up, and walks well on a leash. She loves the outdoors and is a good car rider, tethered in for safety. She loves cuddling with a fur buddy so that would be a bonus for her. She doesn't play with toys yet, or other dogs, but will snuggle up close to her fur sibling. Dolly loves to be brushed, and will need regular grooming. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion to share your days with, Dolly is ready to fill your home with love, warmth, and plenty of tail wags. Patience with her while she adjusts to her new environment will be required, as she may be a little timid at first. She prefers to have someone who is home with her most of the time. We prefer an all-adult home for her. Dolly recently had a dental, where she had 11 teeth removed, but she did already have some missing teeth. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Dolly, complete an app and tell us more about you.    March 25, 2026, 6:53 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application Meet Max Hi! I’m Max, a 2-year-old Doodle/Poodle mix with a big personality and lots of puppy energy!I’m a sweet, loving boy who absolutely adores people. I’m still very much a puppy at heart, so I love to stay active and have fun. My favorite things include playing with toys, chasing balls, and going on squirrel hunts—I’m always ready for an adventure! When it comes to other dogs, I may take a little time to warm up if they come on too strong or are overly energetic, but once I feel comfortable, I love to play and have a great time with my dog friends, but I’m happiest when I’m with my humans, soaking up attention and being part of the action. I’m up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered, so I’m ready to meet my forever family! My ideal home would be with an active family who can keep up with my energy and give me plenty of playtime and attention. A fenced yard would be a big bonus for all my zoomies and adventures! I also prefer a home where I’m not left alone for long periods—I really love being around my people. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and energetic companion, I might just be your perfect match. Because he is a mix of high-intelligence herding and hunting breeds, Noodles is looking for an adopter who understands that he is more than just a fluffy face. To keep him happy and prevent him from becoming stressed or destructive, he requires consistent, breed-appropriate training and plenty of mental stimulation. He is a young, active dog who needs a lifelong commitment to regular professional grooming and an owner who can provide the structure his DNA craves. This handsome guy is a professional at spreading joy with his playful personality and loves nothing more than settling in for some well-deserved pets.
