Story
I write this with a heavy heart and have been devastated for the past several days trying to finally write this. I have a wonderful poodle mix named Chloe. She is about 7 and has been with me for 4 years. She has been my side kick and has been with me through a lot. I moved almost a year ago, and since then she has not been happy. I would do anything to work with her but my partner has told me they’ve had enough. She has become aggressive towards my partner since the move which she was not before and we can’t figure out why. Everyone one else from family and friends she has been amazing with along with my 14 year old sister and her little dogs. Chloe also gets along with cats. She is good on walks, goes potty outside, and loves to cuddle. I want to find her an amazing home where she can be inside most of the day. She does take time to warm up to new people and animals but always is a love bug once comfortable.

Story
Ollie is such a sweet and special boy with a quiet and lovely nature. Ollie is an 1 ½ -year-old, 14-pound wheat-colored Poodle/Chihuahua mix (his mother is a Poodle and dad is a Chihuahua). Ollie is a lovable pup who will need time to adjust to his new surroundings. He thrives best in a calmer environment, ideally with another friendly dog. He loves snuggling up with other dogs, and having a canine companion would be perfect for him! Because of Ollie’s gentle, bashful demeanor, we recommend a home with adults or older teenagers. He may take his time warming up, but once he trusts you, you’ll see his sweet and gentle nature shine through. Ollies does well at the sanctuary using the doggie door to go potty outside, He will benefit from some leash training to help him build confidence. Ollie is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, making him ready for adoption! If you think you can open your heart and home to this sweet boy, come meet Ollie he promises to be an adorable addition to the family. He deserves a warm and loving environment where someone can show him lots of love. Thank you for considering adopting Ollie, he's sure to bring so much joy and companionship to the right home. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereMeet Turtle! This adorable 6-year-old, 11-pound Miniature Poodle mix is a shy little guy doing his best to be a good boy. Despite a rough start in life, including trauma that led to the amputation of his back left leg, Turtle has proven to be one tough cookie with an abundance of love to give. Turtle may be small in size, but he’s big on personality! He’s a happy fellow who is adjusting well to his new surroundings. In his foster home, he’s mastered the dog door and is doing a great job with his potty training—so proud of him! He’s a fan of leisurely walks (though he's still refining his leash skills—he’s got a nose that loves to lead the way!) and enjoys the simple pleasures of squeaky toys and games of fetch. Turtle is calm and easygoing with other small dogs, as long as he’s given a gentle introduction. But really, his favorite playmate is his foster mom and toys! While he’s a bit sensitive with grooming, he’ll need regular care to keep his poodle coat in tip-top shape. This sweet boy would thrive in an adult household with experienced dog lovers. Whether he’s the only dog in your life or has a chill canine companion, Turtle is sure to bring joy and a whole lot of love into your home. Story
Andy is an 8 years “young” gorgeous poodle mix who still believes he’s a puppy. He weighs a perfect 34 pounds, is housetrained, and he loves his life since his rescue. Andy was tied up outside for years, with minimal shelter, and when he came to us, he had a foxtail embedded in his eye, and many inside his ears, causing a ruptured eardrum and excruciating pain. Andy has bounced back and has become the funniest and most gregarious dog. He loves riding in the car, walking in the neighborhood, and his chew toys. Andy should be with an experienced dog-person, and even though he loves other dogs on his walks, he should be the only dog in his new home due to his resource guarding. Andy would be happiest if he had his own yard, with only adult parents. He can be slow to warm up to strangers, but once he does, he’s a joy. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Andy, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" which will take you to our online application form.
