Story
Good day, my name is Layla and here's a bit about me:Breed: Poodle/Terrier mixAge: 11 monthsGender: FemaleWeight: 4 kgHeight: 38 cm I'm shy, but very loving. My mom was lost and trying to cross a highway in Mexico one evening and was hit by a car. She lay unconscious in the road, but luckily my foster dad was walking along the highway and ran out quickly to stop the oncoming traffic before she got run over again. She only suffered a few scrapes and bruises, but was covered in fleas and was a bag of bones. She was someone’s pet, but must have gotten lost and was living on the streets for a while. She recovered and gained weight… maybe a little too much weight. My mom was actually pregnant with me and my 3 siblings. I was born secretly during the night. I grew up with my brothers and my foster’s dad other rescue dog and cat.So having a home with another dog to keep me company is important.I love belly rubs. I will tap your leg and flip myself around for one. I also love crawling onto your lap and putting my head on your leg. I just love being close to my owners. I usually let my brothers go first. I’m more timid and usually the one in the back. I warm up quickly, if you call my name though.I'm playful and affectionate, but not a licky kind of dog. Please, won't you bring me into your home? Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, likely yesKids: unknown Fears: loud noises and strangers when strolling outside. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: noneLeash skills: no. I don't pull on the leash though. Please be prepared to train meHouse trained: still in process (pees outside reliably, but occasionally poops inside.) Please continue to help me learn! Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered & vaccinated. Our adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes for both of us together. This includes our transportation to Canada. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1857871##

Story
(BONDED WITH SOLSTICE)My name is CEREAL (Xiaoman) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Poodle/Tibetan Terrier mixAge: 4 yrsGender: maleWeight: 15 lbsHeight: 16 inchesCountry of origin: ChinaHighlight(s): Affectionate, lively, clingy, curious, obedient I'm a curious little guy with a lively bounce in my step. My name Xiaoman means grain buds? Cute hunh? It is a Chinese term used during Summertime. Hence the name Cereal.A person who lives in the neighborhood of where we were found as strays saw us. Over the past four years, we were witnessed living together, relying on occasional leftover food from neighbors. This person always felt sorry for us, but lacked the means, ability, and courage to rescue us, all the while feeling guilty and helpless. Earlier this year, this lovely person noticed our condition deteriorating. We were navigating busy streets, scavenging from trash cans, and drinking dirty water mixed with food scraps and garbage. Our fur started getting matted and falling out, and my pal Lixia developed a bloody eye growth.Determined to save us, our overseeing angel posted our situation on social media. A rescuer  saw the plea and decided to help rescue us. We were transported to a nearby hospital for checkups and treatment. We were both severely malnourished and had poor coat conditions. We were properly treated and Lixia underwent surgery for his eye problem. After treatment, we were discharged. Now our rescuer has taken us back to her town for foster care, until we can find a home together. I have been shaved down to treat my skin and remove all the mats. No worries, it will grow back for new photos later. My most recent vet visit, confirmed my good health. My dental health is generally good with a pending detailed exam upcoming.I tend toward the affectionate, but can be a little clingy, as I show slight separation anxiety. This should resolve in time with a little consistent work. I'm an obedient little boy, who will happily take cues on what you want. Now that I've been getting socialized, I have improved significantly on my housetraining skills. My friend Lixia and I must be adopted together, as we are pretty bonded after surviving the streets together. We would likely adapt to most any home. We get along with other dogs, though we haven't been introduced to cats. Meet Lambo Hi there! I’m Lambo, a two-year-old poodle mix, and I’m so excited to tell you my story. I was rescued from a not-so-nice situation, but now I’m at the shelter, safe and sound. Eventhough shelter life is not ideal, I consider myself a very lucky boy, but I can’t help dreaming about finding my forever family. I’ve been told I’ve mastered the art of cuteness—just one look into my big, loving eyes, and you’ll see what they mean. I’m a happy-go-lucky guy who just wants to love and be loved. Humans are my favorite, and I get along great with all my furry friends here at the shelter. I’m a kind soul, and I’ve never shown any signs of aggression or resource guarding. Sometimes, I wonder what’s waiting for me outside these shelter walls. I dream about having my very own bed, toys, and most importantly, a loving family to share my life with. I’m ready for adventures, cuddles, and making new memories with you. How fun would it be to go for daily walks, hikes and maybe a quick dip in the water! I have never seen a river or an ocean in my entire life. If you’re looking for a forever companion who will shower you with love and doggie kisses, look no further. I’m Belfie, and I can’t wait to meet you! Energy Level: Medium/high requires daily physical activities. Story
Hello, my name is Zara (Millie) and here are some info about me: Breed: poodleAge: 1.5 yearsGender: Female, spayedWeight: 7.5kg (17 lbs)Height: 25 cmEnegry level: Moderate Highlights: Friendly, loving, playful, quiet Zara is about one and half years old. Her current weight is about 17 lbs. (She has put on some weight since her foster brought her to her apartment a month ago.). Zara was found on the side of a road in Wuhan last September when she was only about three months old. Unfortunately little Zara was hit by a car and her back right leg was fractured. We think Zara was either a second generation stray who was hit by a car or she was someone’s puppy but was abandoned after being hit by a car.Her rescue angel took little Zara to vet and got her treated. Luckily Zara has made a complete recovery! In July of this year, the last screw used to repair the bone fracture was removed at the vet and Zara is just another normal healthy little girl!  She loves people, plays with the other dogs well and doesn’t bother the cats. She is very loving, friendly, quiet, playful with moderate energy and very much enjoys her walks. This cutie arrived to Vancouver at the end of Nov and she is looking to spend the holidays with her forever family. Please adopt her!    Energy Level: moderate   I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: good with my rescuer’s young daughter Fears: none observed. Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Jelly🍭🍬 Jelly was found at Korean City shelter, living alone in a cramped wire cage. He showed no signs of fear toward people, as if he had accepted his abandonment. With lifeless eyes, he simply watched visitors without reacting. Thankfully, he was rescued before the harsh winter arrived. • With People: He likes his foster fam! He wants to be with the female foster. He is not interested in strangers just sniffing during walks. Also he is not wary of visitors. He doesn't turn on the charm, but he's doing well comfortably. He sniffs at the visors a few times and he tends to relax. • With Dogs: He got along well with other dogs at the center. • Potty Training: Prefers outdoor potty. He does her business right after going out. In the house, he only does his business "in front of his bed". • The foster family hears from friends that they've never seen such a gentle dog before!!❤️ The vet said Jelly is surprisingly gentle, too! • He's timid and wary, but how well-mannered he is! ** Health issues: According to a vet, Jelly's teeth are in good condition now, but he seems to have been left in bad condition for quite a long time in the past. (ex. gums caved in or a teeth lost) The vet suggested that it's better to pull out the teeth around the gums caved in later ❤️Foster's Instagram: @jellyimbo1201
