Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 12/10/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered by owners Foster location: Foster Home in Raleigh, NC Special Needs? Hamilton is up to date on vaccines for his age. Due to his age and size he is not currently neutered. He will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum requiring you to spay him within 6 months and provide proof of neuter. Weight: 4.5 lbs and growing - we estimate Hamilton will be between 12-15 lbs when full grown Height: 6 in Spayed/Neutered: No Adoption Fee: $349 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Hamilton is a young, active, very small dogs. His breed is known for very delicate legs and feet. We are looking for a very specific home for Hamilton. First, he must have another small dog in the home that is willing to let him play and sleep snuggled with him. Second, no children under 10. Hamilton is simply too delicate. Third, you must be home more than you are away. It can be work from home, home school, active retirees, etc. But no more than 2-3 hours at a time. And finally, you must be willing to let Hamilton cuddle on the furniture and, when he is bigger and it is safe, sleep in the bed. These all are non-negotiable. Hamilton is great with dogs of all sizes (he lives with dogs ranging from 3 lbs to 70 lbs) and cats. What is my personality like? Handsome Hamilton is as dapper and delightful as they come. He loves to play, loves to snuggle, and loves to eat. Hamilton is all puppy. He plays hard and then crashes hard. And when he crashes, he wants another body to snuggle with and wrap his paws around. If you're human, he'll be snuggled against your legs. If you're canine, he simply hunkers in close. Hamilton is a puppy and is still learning and growing. He absolutely hates crates and will sing the song of his people if you crate him. His foster home simply doesn't put him in one. Hamilton doesn't know anything about walking on a leash yet but is a quick learner. He LOVES to run outside in the fenced yard in his foster home. Hamilton will go up stairs that are carpeted but will not come downstairs and is not allowed on wooden stairs (he could fall). Hamilton likes to play chase. When you want to pick him up he runs to his bed and lays down to be picked up. We're happy to chase - he's too cute to ignore.  Hamilton and his sister Poppy are the very best of friends. They are not bonded, but are definitely close. Hamilton LOVES other dogs and wants to play with them. He eagerly teases large dogs to encourage them to play and is equally enthusiastic with small dogs and cats. The more the merrier in Hamilton's book! How do I act when I first meet new people? Hamilton LOVES people. He is the happiest, snuggliest boy you will ever meet and thinks any arms are his to snuggle into. Other tips and tidbits: We were told that Hamilton was 12 weeks old when he arrived in rescue. His size and teeth support this. We celebrate his birthday 09/17/2024. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. January 17, 2025, 12:22 pm

She is the snuggliest girl you will ever meet and thinks any arms are hers to snuggle into. Other tips and tidbits: We were told that Poppy was 12 weeks old when she arrived in rescue. Story
The Bug litter is now 6 weeks old with a go home date of February 12th. All three puppies are listed as Mini Pin mixes as mom is a large Min Pin mix around 22 pounds.  We do not have any information on dad, so no clue how big the puppies will end up being. Butterfly, Beetle and Bumblebee have first round vaccines and microchipped, eating kibble and waiting to find their forever homes who will understand that there is no guarantee they will small dogs. Butterfly loves to be held and holds her own when playing with her two brothers! If you are interested in adopting Butterfly , please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** January 29, 2025, 6:19 pm
