Story
This adorable, spunky, silly girl is heartbroken because she has absolutely zero interest from anyone wanting to adopt her. She has now set the record for the longest dog in our foster program. Pachi has been with us for a year and a half and prior to our rescue she had been in a shelter for several months. Pachi is the cutest little dog with the coolest ears. She is much smaller than she appears in her photos. (Under 30lbs). Pachi is a true gem, and we can't explain how lucky her person will be once they find each other. She's shown incredible growth but needs a home with structure and routine to continue to grow. Pachi finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, like chasing a toy or curling up on the couch and loves to share blueberries and bananas for breakfast with her foster mom. Pachi is most comfortable with women but is open to anyone with a soft side. She would do best with an adult-only home, or with older children. Pachi likes to be the center of attention, so no other pets. She is not a fan of felines. Pachi prefers a home with a fenced in yard to run around in. We know that her person/people are out there, but we need your help to find this deserving girl her much deserved forever home. Please share. We would like Pachi to stay within Central PA or if the perfect home is found we would consider someone further away. “Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling the emptiness we didn’t ever know we had.” - Thom Jones

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! UPDATE:Kobe is a little 3-year old Min-Pin terrier mix that weighs 10 lbs. He has a cute wiry mane around his neck that makes him unique! He’s a spunky little boy that also loves to cuddle. He is house trained but you can always expect some accidents when a dog is adjusting to a new home.  Poor Kobe did not learn any manners in his previous home so he needs some patience. He would benefit from an obedience class or training at home.  Kobe likes to guard his food, toys and person therefore he would probably do best as an only dog or a dog companion that is more submissive. He does enjoy playing with other dogs but don't try to steal his toy! He is currently working on taking treats nicely. He loves food and is tempted to grab it right out of your hand.  The best thing about Kobe is he loves to snuggle beside you, on your lap  or under a blanket.  he will quietly sleep in his crate at night time but I’m sure he would love to snuggle in bed with you too. Kobe is a sweet boy who would love a home with someone to call his own cuddle buddyIntake Day:My daddy died :(  He was 90.  I'm only 3 soooo I am loving that I get to run around A LOT and have furry buddies to play with!!!  There's this field that we all get to run in and play with balls and such and its great fun and there are lots of different humans that come to play with us :)Momma Lynn says I need my family jewels off, not sure what that means but no one sounded to upset about it so I'm thinking I won't miss them.  Michael said its a piece of cake I just take a nap and when I wake up my family jewels are gone.  If you want to meet me fill out an application and we can make a play date!!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
My name is Sparky, but dont let the name fool youIm a mellow 8-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart who believes that the best moments in life are the quiet ones spent snuggled up together. While I might not bounce off the walls like I did when I was a young pup, I do have plenty of love to give and make a fantastic companion for someone looking for a loving, devoted friend. After my family moved and couldnt take me along, I found myself with a wonderful rescue who have shown me what its like to be cherished. Now, Im ready to share that warmth, loyalty, and affection with my forever family.Routine is my happy placeI like to know whats coming next and I thrive with gentle guidance. Quick movements (especially from little ones) can make me nervous due to my past, so Id do best in a home without children. But I get along well with other friendly dogs! In fact, I currently share my foster home with a dog companion, and we get along just fine. As for cats, theyre not really my style, but I wish them well.Couch time and cuddle sessions are absolutely my favoritesIm at my very best when theres someone to lean into, whether were watching movies or just hanging out. Walks are a nice treat too, but Ill never ask you to go on a marathon; I just like a gentle stroll and some fresh air.Im fully house trained, know my basic manners, and always happy to please with a treat. My foster family is helping me work through a bit of separation anxiety, so Id really love a family whos around most of the time, preferably in a house with a fenced yard, where I can feel safe and content. If youre looking for a loving, low-key companion who will adore snuggling by your side and getting cozy with a calm dog sibling, I could be the perfect fit for your family. I promise, youll fall in love with my gentle nature and cuddly ways!Interested in meeting me? Visit www.crcpa.org/adoptable-dogs for more about the adoption process. Story
Hi Pepper here still waiting on my forever home. Well the holidays are past and I just celebrated my 6th birthday. I am a min pin mix weighing 15 lbs. I was surrendered when my elderly mama could not longer take care of me. I was then adopted but living with 3 chihuahuas was just not a good fit for me. I am being fostered with 2 dogs about my size with other family dogs visiting and I get along great with them. I am house trained and crated trained but I have IVDD so I dribble a bit but I use belly bands. With the 3 different pills I take a day I can run and play just like any other dog. I love walks but not in the cold. The vet told my past mom I shouldn’t do steps. My pills cost under $40 a month and my foster mom uses disposable pads in my belly bands so you don’t need to do laundry every day. I am good in the car and will cuddle beside you on the sofa. My foster mom says I’m a good boy but no one has met me for a meet and greet. Several people have made comments that they had dogs with IVDD and it was no problem so please don’t let that scare you away from wanting to adopt me. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, heart worm negative and microchipped. Kids visit the house ages 2 to 16 and when I hear them coming I go crazy with excitement because I love them so much. Hoping to find my forever home in 2026! If you think I would be a good fit for your family, I’ll be waiting for you in New Holland PA.
