Story
Cordelia is a 9 year old miniature pinscher mix who weighs 9 pounds. This adorable little senior was rescued as a stray with painful eye, tons of mammary masses, rotten teeth and she was so scared. Since having all of her medical care completed (which included removing both eyes) and moving to a foster home, she is thriving! Cordelia has the cutest personality and she loves to sniff out her humans. She gets around the house good, loves to wear sweaters and her favorite thing is cuddling up on a soft blanket or bed. She is fostered with other dogs of all sizes, is crate trained and appears to be house broken. Cordelia wants nothing more than a family to call her own for the holidays. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!LuLu's mommy's health is declining so she had to surrender her 2 pups and move in with her family.  LuLu and BooBoo have been together their whole lives so we are not going to split them up now.  I mean they already lost their mom!!!  Sooo if you have room in your heart and home for 2 cute fur buddies fill out an application and we will see what LuLu & BooBoo think about you :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Harry Zorro Spiderman, aka Zorro for short, made his way to us when someone found a "Pit Bull puppy" running around alone. Once we set out eyes on Zorro, we quickly realized he was neither Pit Bull nor puppy. While we are not quite sure of Zorro's breed, the vet estimates him to be a little over a year old.At 15 pounds, Zorro is a petite man with a personality we are surprised fits in his body. He is an exuberant little fellow who adores playing with any and all toys! Zorro also loves spending time with people. Zorro has a zest for the world that he releases as energy, meaning he would not enjoy the life of a lap dog. Zorro would make a great hiking or walking buddy! Zorro is house-trained and knows some basic commands. Zorro loves canine friends and having a canine sibling would be the cherry on top at his new home! If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: acskc.org/adoption/adoption-applicationOnce your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Story
Hi! This lovely dog Bear is looking for his new forever home! Bear is approximately 4 years old and is as loveable and friendly as a pup can be. He is crate trained, and potty trained to go outside and is absolutely phenomenal with other pets. I am currently relocating and unfortunately am not able to bring him with me. I refuse to have him put in a shelter and would really love for him to find a suitable, happy family that he can thrive with. He's great with kids and familiar people and loves to play outside! Please feel free to message me with any questions, thanks!

Story
Isaiah, I’ve been calling him Little Man affectionately and Isiah when he being trained. He’s timid & extremely sweet. Everybody fell in love with him at the Vet. The guy would had them apparently had a hidden life behind closed doors The place was in shambles and the dogs were living in deplorable conditions. He was a hoarder, and the dogs were shitting and pissing everywhere. They were eating, moldy bread, pizza and whatever else fell on the floor. He got a Rabies vaccination & bloodwork. His mouth is a mess, he‘s that’s severe periodontal disease, and everything needs to come out. He will try and save the canines so his tongue won’t stay hanging out of his mouth. His bloodwork came back so far positive for Lyme, so he just started on Doxycycline. And, he’s gonna be on it for 30 days and then needs to be tested. I have two other dogs he goes to the bathroom with them outside. But I wouldn’t call him housebroken. He wouldn’t go through the doggy door to go out but he will come in. He’s definitely been inside most of his life. (So how he has Lymes make’s no sense) When I can’t be with him I keep him in a crate. I take him out every 30 mins. If he doesn’t go to the bathroom then he goes back in. He gets tons of love when he’s out. And he definitely loves the attention and affection. It’s apparent that there’s been a shortage of that in his life.
