Story
The person who needed me to foster had her for one year, he had gotten her from someone else. She has her rabies tag and is not fixed, I was told she would be 2 in November. Which she is in her 2nd heat now. She gets along well with dogs and my cats even though she likes to chase them sometimes. She is kenneled trained but can be vocal of moving around without letting her out right away. Her nickname is Pogo because of house bouncy she is. She has accidents inside. She could use more training and better manners. Overall a good girl and will be a great dog for someone!!

Story
Yellow—14+ Kid by Kid, Dog by DogShiba is a wonderful dog, but she is currently stressed and shut down. Although she tolerated being handled, she was uncomfortable and frequently lifted her paws and licked her lips. It is important to approach her slowly, take your time, and wait for her to relax before continuing to handle her. Shiba was hesitant to come out of her kennel, and we had to use somebody and leash pressure to encourage her. She is scared and nervous about walking on a leash and is more curious about the person handling her than about her surroundings. Her environment does not allow her to meet new people appropriately; this results in significant stress during interactions, making it difficult for her to engage with toys or to respond positively to redirection or behavior cues. She recovered slowly during our session and showed little reaction to other objects. Shiba displays low-spectrum guarding tendencies, such as freezing, lip licking, and showing whale eyes. Overall, she needs a patient and gentle approach to help her feel more comfortable. For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617

Story
Pacer, a black and tan Miniature Pinscher, about 4.5 years old on 5/19/24, was rescued 2 years ago. He was morbidly obese and appeared to be in a catatonic state when we got him. He was so terrified that he completely shut down and moved so little that we were concerned that he wasn’t even breathing. We took him to the vet to bring him up to date on vaccinations, but decided to wait until he was less terrified before we put him through the trauma of being neutered. He was neutered and vaccinations updated on 5/31/24. Pacer, unfortunately, tested positive for heartworms and is on the slow kill, doxycycline protocol. Pacer will do best in a quiet home with an experienced dog owner. Due to his fearfulness, he will not be considered for homes with young children. Pacer is located in Arkansas. He currently weighs about 15 pounds. His adoption donation is $465 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to give Pacer the loving home he deserves and help him develop into the confident little guy he can become, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. href="http://dhd.coffeecup.com/forms/bhsapp/">You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer will contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!LuLu's mommy's health is declining so she had to surrender her 2 pups and move in with her family.  LuLu and BooBoo have been together their whole lives so we are not going to split them up now.  I mean they already lost their mom!!!  Sooo if you have room in your heart and home for 2 cute fur buddies fill out an application and we will see what LuLu & BooBoo think about you :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm
