Story
Chloe is the best little girl ever. Sweet and friendly and social, in spite of the fact that she had to have an eye removed, do to an injury that the prior owner did not take care of. She was taken from a home, along with little Jax. Both were so skinny and covered in fleas. Poor Chloe had to be on food and antibiotics, for several days, til the vets could even do surgery on her. Then, she had to get surgery several weeks later to be spay, for the vets did not want to do everything to her at once. Well, she recovered like a champ, gets along fine with just the one eye, and is just the best little girl. Chloe is only about 3 years old and a solid 10 lbs of love and affection. While she would love to find a home with Jax, she will be okay without him. A must meet, for this girl will steal your heart for sure. Her eye area looks better now, than in the photos. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER (Pregnant Dog Rescue) is a private, in home, all breed rescue facility. We exist only on the kindness of your donations and adoptions! We pride ourselves on being an HOLISTIC center and feed only holistic foods and various vitamins and supplements to all of our dogs. LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER dogs are well socialized, very friendly, and in wonderful health.  We stand by our pups/dogs, and give 10 days for a refund and almost always take our dogs back at any age of their lives (often depends on dog)! LMAC has an application screening process.  All applicants are asked to provide vet references, personal references, and a home visit.  We pride ourselves in matching up the right dog with the right home. Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes it might take awhile. We hope you understand and are willing to wait for the perfect pup for your situation. We reserve the right to turn applicants down and to change our mind about a suitable match, for we are only concerned about what is best for our dogs.  Also note that we arrange our visiting hours around your schedule, as this is a private, in home facility.  We respond to all inquiries promptly, so if you have any trouble sending us an email, or have not heard back from us within 24 hours, please, CONTACT US AGAIN and check your spam!  (We all know how emails can be at times!) Our dogs are spayed or neutered (if old enough), up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested, and free of fleas and ticks.  We temperament test our  dogs and they are all suitable for many family situations. Our dogs are well mannered, know some basic commands, and are usually housebroken within a week of being with us (if old enough).  They are in our family/home situation at this time (not in kennels or crates, although most are crate trained) and are worked with daily.  All of our dogs do well with other dogs and many do well with cats. Adoption donations vary with age, breed, vetting, and training of the dog, and range from $250 to $695 (most being $595).  (We do not tend to place puppies or small dogs with kids under 6 and reserve the right to match who WE feel would be the best homes for our dogs.)   January 28, 2025, 4:42 pm

Story
Introducing Mashed Potato 🥔 The second dog we have gotten this month who was dumped at the pound still wearing his little Christmas sweater 😞 We named him because his teeth are so rotted we figured he would end up toothless after his neuter and dental, but his heart had other plans unfortunately 💔. We are looking for a hospice home for this friendly spunky senior. He has a significant heart murmur and his echo showed concerns of pre-failure and very high risk for anesthesia even after starting meds, so he is starting on 3 medications to help support his heart and we are looking for a hospice home for him to live out what time he has. He’s a very social little guy, energetic but coughs when he gets too worked up so a chill home where he can spend a lot of time cuddling on the couch is best. We think he’s at least 12 years old but still very much mentally “with it”, seems to like other small dogs (a little too much maybe since he’s not neutered 🤦‍♀️), and mostly just wants to be around humans and not in a cage. He’s 11lbs, and we think min pin/chihuahua/terrier of some sort. Please share our little Mashed Potato 🥔 , we don’t know how much quality time he has but he deserves to spend every second loved and cherished Email njwoof@cs.com to meet him in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
Pacer, a black and tan Miniature Pinscher, about 4.5 years old on 5/19/24, was rescued 2 years ago. He was morbidly obese and appeared to be in a catatonic state when we got him. He was so terrified that he completely shut down and moved so little that we were concerned that he wasn’t even breathing. We took him to the vet to bring him up to date on vaccinations, but decided to wait until he was less terrified before we put him through the trauma of being neutered. He was neutered and vaccinations updated on 5/31/24. Pacer, unfortunately, tested positive for heartworms and is on the slow kill, doxycycline protocol. Pacer will do best in a quiet home with an experienced dog owner. Due to his fearfulness, he will not be considered for homes with young children. Pacer is located in Arkansas. He currently weighs about 15 pounds. His adoption donation is $465 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to give Pacer the loving home he deserves and help him develop into the confident little guy he can become, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. href="http://dhd.coffeecup.com/forms/bhsapp/">You can find a copy of that application here. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer will contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Banana, a total sweetheart look’n for love! She’s super pawesome, so far her fosters in Texas and New Jersey have not found a flaw. We think she is a Min Pin/Terrier mix. She is an older gal at about 8 years old who weighs 20 pounds, a great size for snuggling which Banana loves! Banana gets along with both dogs and cats! She's a calm and easygoing gal who is house trained and crate trained. She is walked frequently as it's hard to tell when she wants attention or needs to go out. Banana walks well on a leash and is not reactive to other dogs. She’s a good listener and also quiet. She is super sweet and loves to cuddle with us or in her well constructed nest! You couldn't ask for a better dog than Banana - she's pretty much perfect!  Banana lived with a woman who kept her crated 24/7 and eventually became homeless. She ended up living in a storage shed with no running water and realized she couldn’t take care of Banana. Banana was back in the crate up to 14 hours a day. A rescuer was able to convince her to give up Banana to NorthStar. Unfortunately, Banana left behind two other dogs and a cat that the original owner was unwilling to surrender. We are happy that Banana was able to leave that home behind but sad that the other animals with the owner are still living in a bad situation. If you'd like to bring Banana into your life, please fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for her by name, BANANA TX! Her adoption fee is $250.January 26, 2025, 9:03 am
