This pretty girl is Penny! Penny is Min Pin mix, 4.5 years old and 30lbs. This girl is going to need an extra special home. Penny was adopted from us as a puppy and was returned. It appears she was not socialized well, so is very nervous and skittish of new people. Penny has been through training and knows several basic commands like sit, stay, down, leave it and release. Penny's training should continue with someone that will be able to provide consistency to her. Penny is good with cats but has shown she prefers to be the only dog living in her home and loves to play with her person. She would do best in a quiet adult only home with not a lot of visitors. Penny will need a privacy fence or to be leash walked as we were told she can climb a fence. She has come a very long way since being back with her foster mom. She unfortunately was failed as a puppy but we are working hard to make that up to her. We know this girl needs a very specific home but we are true believers that there is family out there for every dog, some just take longer than others to find theirs. Abbie will be 10 years old on Nov. 3, 2024. We've had her and our other dog since they were just 8 weeks old. The two have never gotten along. Abbie wants to be alpha dog and she is not and she will fight our other dog so I've had to keep them separate as best as possible. Our other dog was recently diagnosis with a heart murmur and we were told to keep her lifestyle free of stress if possible. Abbie will need to be in a home with no other dogs, unless you plan to keep them separate. She is potty trained, although she has been caught going in the house if you ignore her clues. She is a sweet girl and a lover of people. I often feel she l loves strangers more than me. Haha! It's probably the rules and all the gates in the house. 😊 Would you like to meet our sweet Abbie?

My history is a mystery. I was found in a ditch curled up on a pair of jeans. I was pretty scared. I'm very slowly learning to trust. I'm a great size at about 18 lbs. If you have the patience for me come around and get my confidence, I could be the one you are looking for. I am a special case. I'm not going outside or walking on a leash yet, so when they say patience, they really mean a lot of patience and determination - that is what it will take to help me have a good life. To elaborate a bit more, I never wag my tail. I won't sit next to you on the sofa. I don't like it when you touch me. I mean - - - I'm a really special case. **The first step to adopting from MO Min Pin Rescue, is to complete the online adoption application. A good vet reference and heartworm prevention are required. We do not arrange transport, and you will be responsible for coming to us to get your dog. Adoption Application link: https://www.mominpinrescue.org/p/adoption-application_30.html ** PJ needs an experienced adopter!!! He does seem to prefer men, but his trainer is a woman and he got along fine with her. He has gone through a series of training classes. Is he all better? No. Will he never bite again? We can't guarantee that. PJ came from a shelter where he found himself after his human passed away. He bit the transport driver badly enough to require medical attention. He bit his first foster dad, who is basically a dog whisperer. That foster asked that we move him to a different foster. He has also bitten his current foster and bit the vet tech. They had to put him under to give him his vaccinations. Long story short, he's got a nasty reputation. We decided to take him through several weeks of training to see if it would help. He graduated from training now. He's better, but he is going to need a special home! Just to be completely transparent, here. He is about 5 years old, but we don't know that for sure. He has been vaccinated, neutered, has had a dental, and is microchipped. He is fine with other dogs, and okay with cats. Absolutely no homes with children. He is located in the St. Louis area. His adoption fee is $275.00.
