Riley is the kind of dog that makes people stop and go… wait, what is he? Long little body, unique face, and that sleek gray coat that makes him look like a tiny runway model who accidentally wandered onto a farm. Dachshund, Chihuahua, maybe a sprinkle of rat terrier… whatever the mix is, it works. He’s a shy guy at first. Not the “run up to strangers and throw himself into your arms” type. Riley is more of an introvert. The kind who quietly watches from the sidelines… and then once he decides you’re his person, flips a switch and becomes your little shadow and best friend. In his foster home, Riley thrives. He came from a hoarding situation, so he’s very comfortable around other dogs, even chickens… he’s like “cool, more friends.” He actually enjoys having a pack around and takes a lot of comfort in it. Riley is house trained and knows the routine. He walks decent on a leash and gets better as his confidence grows. He loves to play and is very food motivated, so treats are basically the key to his heart and his brain. He’s not a plug and play dog. He’s a “put in a little love, patience, and snacks… and get a ridiculously loyal best friend in return” kind of dog. If you’re the type who appreciates earning a dog’s trust and watching them come out of their shell, Riley is going to be incredibly rewarding. $300 adoption fee covers neuter, vaccines, parasite prevention, and microchip

Story
  -Trey is a handsome Min Pin boy that is estimated to be one year old and weighing at slim and sleek 17 pounds.  This boy was found as a stray with a desperate need to be cared for with love and dedication.   Critter Cavalry Rescue was luckily contacted by the shelter director and implored to please find him a forever home and turn his sweet life around. Trey deserves to have a wonderful family or single person who wants this nice but nervous boy to be their cuddle bug for many years to come.   You can see in his face that he has never been treated so nicely.   His foster mom says he is submissive with the other dogs and would fit in with any family that has other cats and dogs.  He is crate trained and unbelievably housebroken.  Maybe he was someone's boy at one time and somehow lost his way.  He was not microchipped nor neutered and he seems a bit ragged around the edges when he was found.  One of those road warriors who somehow survived the odds of the past winter filled with snow and ice storms.  Trey loves the feel of the cool green grass as he rolls on his back with a smile.  He never growls even when some of the other jealous dogs have growled at him when he arrived.  He just takes it in stride.  He is quiet and needs some reassurance from his human foster mom.  Of course he feels vulnerable but we hope that soon there will be a wonderful door that will open for his future and someone will invite him home to live the dream life of a well-loved dog.  If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  We adopt locally where we are based in Nashville,Tn and also transport to the northeastern states every weekend.  He is the perfect dog for so many different families   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 14, 2026, 9:49 am

Raya came to us cautious and hopeful all at once, and from the moment she arrived, she's been winning hearts fast. She's wonderful with kids and other dogs, walks perfectly on leash, and goes potty outside like a champ. Loud noises (vacuums, blow dryers) don't faze her, and she's a great car rider. She tolerates nail trims, paw handling, and drying without fuss. She is food motivated, which makes her a joy to work with. Her foster describes her as "nothing short of an angel baby" who is pack-oriented and does best surrounded by her people and animal companions. She loves sunbathing, napping, and being with the people she loves. Raya will be visiting the vet soon so we can learn more about her health needs. In the meantime, we're looking for a foster-to-adopt home where she can settle in, feel safe, and become the happy, confident dog she's meant to be.
