Story
Sweet Ginger is a petite Miniature Pinscher who is two weeks away from her 12th birthday! This precious 7 pound lady finds herself in need of a new home. Sadly, her owner had to move into a retirement home that does not allow dogs. A bit scary for Ginger who is also blind in her old age. She gets around fine in her foster Mom's home, she learns quickly. Ginger is fine with other dogs, but will let them know quickly if they are annoying her! Ginger is so tiny, she makes an excellent inside dog. Although she likes to go out and is leash trained, Ginger needs to be watched at all times while outside for her safety. Trained to pee pads, she will be fine inside. Ginger is also diabetic and needs 2 injections a day, one after each meal.

Story
Mary’s backstory: Mary previously lived in the woods with her homeless owner. One day her owner received help and was taken somewhere, but evidently couldn’t take his dogs as Mary and two others remained. Mary was rescued and now looking for her forever home! BASICS: — Female — 1.5 years old — 10 pounds — Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped PERSONALITY: Shadow and Velcro type baby. Mary thrives on affection, belly rubs, etc. and follows you everywhere. Mary would love to be someone’s lap dog. Mary is very shy and timid at first and will need a little bit of time to settle in, warm up and feel comfortable with you. ENERGY: Pretty low energy. Plays and runs a little DOGS: Does well with little dogs. Currently in foster with multiple dogs ranging in weights up to around 25 lbs. Big dogs are unknown. CATS: Unknown POTTY: Not fully trained yet, but working on it CRATE: Not a huge fan of being crated/alone, but with more time, we think that may self correct a bit as she learns the humans always come back and she isn’t being abandoned KIDS: No young kids. Mary is timid and shy. Tiny humans with busy bodies and hands aren’t a match with Mary. MISC: Mary has some dry skin areas believed to be just simply from poor nutrition and care prior. She has been started on OTC oils and supplements to help clear. Mary is a bit underweight still from previous history and working to get back to a healthy weight (nothing groceries won’t fix). Currently in foster in Fayetteville, GA APPLY TO ADOPT: joyspromise.org/adopt – Note: If you are interested in adopting, please COMPLETE AN APPLICATION THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. Story
Chico is a 12 y/o miniature pinscher. He was my mother’s dog and when she passed away he came into my care. He’s been a loving, happy boy during his time with me, but due to unforeseen circumstances I can no longer house him. Chico loves walks outside, exploring and adventuring. Indoors, he’ll happily curl up in your lap for a nap. He loves burrowing under a blanket to sleep about as much as he does playing with his ball and chasing squirrels! However, more reserved in his older years, Chico spends most of his time napping and observing his human. Loyal to the end, he will gladly stay by your side and keep you company. He’ll even sleep snuggled up next to you in your bed. Chico is a truly loving, sweet boy through and through. Now going blind and deaf, Chico isn’t bothered by much and will sleep through any storm. He is up to date on his vaccinations and was given a clean bill of health with his most recent vet visit. He just needs a loving place to call home!

Story
LOOKING FOR MY ANGEL:  Approx. 10 years / Approx. 20 lbs. Hi, my name’s Rusty!  I lost my life-long home when my previous owner experienced medical issues & needed to go to assisted living.  I was sad about that, but fortunately, Mostly Mutts has been able to take me in & I’m in a great foster home while I wait to find my new family that is looking for a constant, sweet companion. I was adopted for a few weeks, but came back to Mostly Mutts as the home was not a good fit.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I like the dogs I have met in my previous home, & I like the older calm chihuahua in my foster home – sharing our people & walking nicely with her on our daily walks, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet! / I lived with five cats in my previous home. / I liked the calm children I met in my previous home, but I don’t remember their ages. Since I have been known to nip if startled or accidentally hurt, it’s best the children in my new home be older calm kids (age 15+), & - of course, let’s meet!    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet boy who, though initially nervous in new environments, adjusts nicely in a very calm environment which is what I’m looking for in my home.  I often find a lap to jump in where I’m super happy as I’m a true lap dog!  I’ll even settle in & lean back, as if asking you to hold me like a baby – so loving!  I’m used to having my person with me all the time, so a stay-at-home family member is a must for me.  A true ‘Velcro dog’, I just want to be involved in whatever you are doing! You want to watch TV? Great, I’ll sit with you on the couch. You need to work at a desk? I’ll be in the dog bed on the floor in your office.  You cooking? I’ll help! You get the idea? I’m a great constant companion.  I have been a bit protective of my home, barking at strangers & sometimes nipping at the back of their leg when they turn away.  My foster is working on this with me now & I don’t do it in public, just in my home. A home without a lot of people coming & going is best for me. I did nip in my temporary home, but it was also learned that they were not giving me the proper dosage of my anxiety medication. / My energy level is 4 - 6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  My foster reports that I am a smart boy, so they enrolled me in Mostly Mutts’ Adult Basic Training classes where I recently received my certificate of completion for Mostly Mutts basic obedience.  This means I have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, ‘down’, & ‘stay’ commands & how to ‘wait’ before entering & exiting doors. I also have good leash-walking manners, only pulling momentarily in new areas if something makes me nervous. They also say that I’m so smart that I know what they are asking me to do.  I do not respond well to any physical force as I’m very sensitive & get my feelings hurt easily, so a calm home & quiet-natured family is what I will thrive in. / I don’t need a crate at all in my foster home & in fact I do better without one. When my fosters leave the house, I do howl for a bit (so best no apartment/condo type home please), but I haven’t been destructive, & I usually just hang out on the couch.  At night I sleep in my dog bed next to my fosters’ bed & that makes me happy. / My potty manners are great in my foster home, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too!  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy going for walks with my family, as well as hanging out with them in a fenced yard.  I also really love napping on the couch under a blanket & I enjoy playing with squeaky toys & balls with my person.  Collecting all the cuddles is also very nice! /  I am not a fan of that confusing, pesky iRobot vacuum cleaner, so I bark at it – though I’m getting more used to it with time.  I don’t like being restrained or physically forced to do something – it frightens me. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love & attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered.  I have a couple old man lumps & bumps that don’t bother me, & I hope you won’t mind either.  I am  taking an inexpensive anxiety medication (fluoxetine), which has greatly improved some intermittent eye tremors & some separation anxiety I was experiencing. I will likely need to take this medication forever as it helps me so much.   I’m looking for a home where I will be a much-loved family member where I can be with my family a lot. My adoption fee is $100.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 23, 2025, 6:37 am

Story
MPMR requires that all dogs in the home are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and on heartworm prevention unless a dog has a verifiable medical reason as to why this cannot be done. Immie Estimated 10 years old 18 lbs Min Pin/Dachshund/Chihuahua mix Fully vetted to include a dental If you look up "Velcro" and "glue" in the dictionary, Immie's picture would be there. She loves her people and is someone's constant shadow. She more readily warms up to women, but if men give her enough scratches and treats, she can be convinced they are friends too. Immie is the perfect, gentle girl. We can only guess at her breed make-up. She was never reclaimed from animal control, and the reasoning behind that is unfathomable to us as she was clearly loved in the past. Immie is house trained, calm, walks nicely on a leash, and gets along with other dogs. We don't know about cats, but given her temperament, I can't see her being overly interested. Immie loves food. She came to us very overweight, so her new owner will need to understand keeping portions and treats controlled is important as she has a bit of arthritis in her legs. Because of this, she chooses not to jump on furniture and hasn't figured out the steps. However, she will dance on her back legs to be picked up. She would gladly sleep with her person and likes burrowing under blankets. Immie had a dental, and 13 teeth were removed. In the process, we learned some of the teeth were dead, and combining that with her odd use of the front right leg, it is possible she sustained some kind of injury to that side of her body in the past. Because she has some initial separation anxiety somewhere new and can be vocal, apartment life may not be suitable unless someone works from home. This does subside within a few weeks. If interested in adopting Immie, please complete our adoption application which can be found at this link. Please note it may need to be copied and pasted. http://tinyurl.com/mpmrapp Email mpmrgeorgia@gmail.com with any additional questions.
