Story
Sweet Ginger is a petite Miniature Pinscher who is two weeks away from her 12th birthday! This precious 7 pound lady finds herself in need of a new home. Sadly, her owner had to move into a retirement home that does not allow dogs. A bit scary for Ginger who is also blind in her old age. She gets around fine in her foster Mom's home, she learns quickly. Ginger is fine with other dogs, but will let them know quickly if they are annoying her! Ginger is so tiny, she makes an excellent inside dog. Although she likes to go out and is leash trained, Ginger needs to be watched at all times while outside for her safety. Trained to pee pads, she will be fine inside. Ginger is also diabetic and needs 2 injections a day, one after each meal. She also has cataracts, but such a sweet and cute girl.

Story
LOOKING FOR MY ANGEL:  Approx. 10 years / Approx. 17 lbs. Hi, my name’s Rusty!  I lost my life-long home when my previous owner experienced medical issues & needed to go to assisted living.  I was sad about that, but fortunately, Mostly Mutts has been able to take me in & I’m in a great foster home while I wait to find my new family that is looking for a constant, sweet companion. I was adopted for a few weeks, but came back to Mostly Mutts as the home was not a good fit.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I like the dogs I have met in my previous home, & I like the older calm chihuahua in my foster home – sharing our people & walking nicely with her on our daily walks, so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet! / I lived with five cats in my previous home. / I liked the calm children I met in my previous home, but I don’t remember their ages. Since I have been known to nip if startled or accidentally hurt, it’s best the children in my new home be older calm kids (age 15+), & - of course, let’s meet!    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet boy who, though initially nervous in new environments, adjusts nicely in a very calm environment which is what I’m looking for in my home.  I often find a lap to jump in where I’m super happy as I’m a true lap dog!  I’ll even settle in & lean back, as if asking you to hold me like a baby – so loving!  I’m used to having my person with me all the time, so a stay-at-home family member is a must for me.  A true ‘Velcro dog’, I just want to be involved in whatever you are doing! You want to watch TV? Great, I’ll sit with you on the couch. You need to work at a desk? I’ll be in the dog bed on the floor in your office.  You cooking? I’ll help! You get the idea? I’m a great constant companion.  I have been a bit protective of my home, barking at strangers & sometimes nipping at the back of their leg when they turn away.  My foster is working on this with me now & I don’t do it in public, just in my home. A home without a lot of people coming & going is best for me. I did nip in my temporary home, but it was also learned that they were not giving me the proper dosage of my anxiety medication. / My energy level is 4 - 6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  My foster reports that I am a smart boy, so they enrolled me in Mostly Mutts’ Adult Basic Training classes where I recently received my certificate of completion for Mostly Mutts basic obedience.  This means I have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, ‘down’, & ‘stay’ commands & how to ‘wait’ before entering & exiting doors. I also have good leash-walking manners, only pulling momentarily in new areas if something makes me nervous. They also say that I’m so smart that I know what they are asking me to do.  I do not respond well to any physical force as I’m very sensitive & get my feelings hurt easily, so a calm home & quiet-natured family is what I will thrive in. / I don’t need a crate at all in my foster home & in fact I do better without one. When my fosters leave the house, I do howl for a bit (so best no apartment/condo type home please), but I haven’t been destructive, & I usually just hang out on the couch.  At night I sleep in my dog bed next to my fosters’ bed & that makes me happy. / My potty manners are great in my foster home, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too!  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy going for walks with my family, as well as hanging out with them in a fenced yard.  I also really love napping on the couch under a blanket & I enjoy playing with squeaky toys & balls with my person.  Collecting all the cuddles is also very nice! /  I am not a fan of that confusing, pesky iRobot vacuum cleaner, so I bark at it – though I’m getting more used to it with time.  I don’t like being restrained or physically forced to do something – it frightens me. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love & attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered.  I have a couple old man lumps & bumps that don’t bother me, & I hope you won’t mind either.  I am  taking an inexpensive anxiety medication (fluoxetine), which has greatly improved some intermittent eye tremors & some separation anxiety I was experiencing. I will likely need to take this medication forever as it helps me so much.   I’m looking for a home where I will be a much-loved family member where I can be with my family a lot. My adoption fee is $100.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 15, 2025, 8:38 am

Story
LOOKING FORWARD TO A GREAT LIFE:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 16 lbs. Hi, I’m Graham! I came from a situation where there were just way too many dogs, so animal control helped me and quite a few others work their way to Mostly Mutts, so I can find a new family to love – perhaps you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with several other dogs whom I got along well with, and I met some dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and although I didn’t want to play with them, I also didn’t show any aggression.  If you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and loved them, so kids around 10 in my new home could be a good fit, let's meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a very sweet dog that is playful and a bit shy, but also very good for my initial bath when I arrived at Mostly Mutts.  I’m new here and am getting used to being a normal doggie who enjoys being held and carried, but has lots of other normal dog things to get used to since I was in a situation with lots of other dogs and am not yet used to being a pup in a regular home.  I visited a temp. foster home, and I was a bit of a counter surfer, so I’ll need my new family to help me learn house manners.  I eat quickly too, without chewing much, so a slow feeder may be best for me to start.  / My energy level seems to be approx. 4 – 6.    • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm enrolled in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘come’ command and I’m looking forward to learning lots with my new family! / The crate is new to me, so you can crate train me. / I’ve had a few accidents in the shelter, as well as in a temp. foster home I visited, and I was learning to stand by the door when I needed to go, so I’ll want my new family to potty train me and continuing to encourage this behavior.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love being carried, being petted and being in laps, so I’ll want that in my new home please.  Belly rubs, ear scratches, sunbathing, and going for walks are some of my favorite things.  I like playing, so let’s do that together, too.  I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we like doing together – so let’s get to know each other! / I was unsure of the stairs in my temp. foster home and needed some encouragement to attempt them.  I also don’t love being left alone, though I hope I’ll adjust as we get to know each other.  I was a bit wary of the car ride, too, but I am getting used to it.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I haven’t had a normal start to doggie life, but I’m looking forward to learning all about it, so I’m looking for a great family to love and be loved by.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 26, 2025, 11:06 am

Story
Mary joined us alongside two others who use to live in the woods with their homeless owner. One day their owner left, but must not have been able to take pups as the trio remained and faithfully waited for their owners return. Since being rescued, Mary has settled in her foster home and shown to be the sweetest love bug! BASICS: — Female — 1.5 years old — 10 pounds — Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped — Small dog friendly — Velcro, shadow, snuggle bug, lap dog PERSONALITY: Shadow and Velcro type baby. Mary thrives on affection, belly rubs, etc. and follows you everywhere. Mary would love to be someone’s lap dog. Mary is shy at first and may need a little bit of time to warm up and feel comfortable, but once she does, she will be your best friend. ENERGY: Pretty low energy. Plays and runs a little DOGS: Does well with little dogs. In foster with multiple dogs ranging in weights from around 10-25lbs. Large dogs unknown. CATS: Unknown KIDS: No young kids. Older kids probably ok POTTY: Almost has it down — around 90% outside and 10% pee pad CRATE: Doing well with crate training and being crated when humans leave in foster home. MISC: Mary has some dry skin areas believed to be just simply from poor nutrition and care prior. She has been started on OTC oils and supplements to help clear. Mary is a bit underweight still from previous history and working to get back to a healthy weight (nothing groceries won’t fix).
