❗Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Leeju👋 She was found on the street in South Korea at just 2 months old and sent to a high-risk city shelter along with her four siblings. Luckily, she was rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team and sent to her foster home 2 months later. Her foster family has been taking good care of her since, and she’s been living peacefully with the resident dog. LeeJu is now more than ready for a furever home! • Personality: Friendly, Curious, Cautious LeeJu is such a friendly and lovable pup with a curious and cautious personality. Her energy level is mid-low as she mostly chills in a kennel at home and prefers to have light walkies mainly for the bathroom. • Affinity with - Dogs: Super friendly with other dogs as long as they are not too large or aggressive. She doesn’t respond to barking dogs as well. She currently lives with a resident dog in her foster home, so she will be a good fit for a family with other furry companions. - Cats: Good with cats. - Adults/Kids: Good with both adults & kids. She is calm even when kids pet her. • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, mainly using the bathroom outdoors but sometimes indoors when she can’t go outside. • Walking Manners: Well-mannered! • Bathing/Brushing: Very good. • Car Rides: Not anymore. She got better at car rides. Her foster tries to walk her for potty before jumping into the car. • Separation Anxiety: None. • Barks/Howls: A little bit towards continued noise from outside the house. • Appetite/Food Allergies: She likes any sort of food! / No food allergies. • Likes/Dislikes: She loves being petted on her face while snuggling up to your side! / She feels cold easily due to her short coat. • Shedding level (1~10): 4-6 If you have an open heart and a loving home for Leeju, please don't hesitate to apply!

Story
Say hello to Rusty! This adorable little ball of energy is as sweet as he is handsome. We just adore him and he lights up any room he's in. Rusty is a bit shy at first (like most rescue dogs), but warms up quickly once he feels comfortable. His foster family is working with him on basic good boy training and Rusty is getting an A+. He's mellow and quiet, and loves nothing more than being next to you while you watch your favorite TV show or movie on the couch. Rusty loves his chew treats and living the good life now that he's in rescue with us. He can also jump pretty high-as high as 5 feet! Rusty is about 2 years old and 20 pounds. He's leash trained and working on his crate training. His best fit family is one who can give him love, patience, and help him acclimate to his new surroundings. He is best in a home with children over the age of 12.

Story
HENRIETTE-URGENT-Sponsorship: Henriette is awaiting life-saving specialty surgery or radiation treatment (preferred) to remove a tumor on her thyroid gland. It is not malignant but causes an extremely high thyroid count. If it is not removed Henriette will die. Our regular veterinarians won’t do the surgery and have referred us to several specialists to do this very delicate surgery or equally delicate radiation which will cost $12,000 to $14,000. Even with an added 15% rescue discount, it is more money than we can ever raise. We are seeking help! We have no funds left. We have spent nearly $2000 for all her diagnostics—specialty ultrasounds, blood panels, cardiology assessment at MASH, urinalysis and other needed tests, medications, holistic treatments and supplements which we hope will help until we are able to raise the funds necessary for her urgent procedure. Henriette is also on expensive "Just Food For Dogs", human grade food, is fed several times a day, and gets a whole host of supplements and vitamins. Donations can also be made directly to the veterinarian and The Nature Network Inc., a 501c3 non-profit, will provide a donation receipt for tax deductions. We rescued Henriette from the Orange County Animal Shelter, where she was out of time and living her final days. Henriette loves her doggy playmates and they would miss Hen terribly if she died. Henriette is spayed and current on her vaccinations. For more information about HENRIETTE, and if you or someone you know can help her, please contact us: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (Also our PayPal donation/sponsorship email address)

Story
COOKIE is a lovely adult-to-senior girl, 12 pounds, Miniature Pinscher whose senior human dad passed away, leaving Cookie and her four little companions, Shorty, Millie, Poopsy, and Missy, without their dad. They all get along really well, are house trained, and also know to use pads to do their business indoors, at night, and when it's raining or very cold out. Cookie's late dad probably did not realize that Cookie's left eye was swollen and didn't look right. We don't know exactly what happened to it, but veterinarians are thinking it was untreated uveitis leading to glaucoma that was no longer treatable with medicines. So poor Cookie had to have an enucleation--eye removal. We don't think her other eye was or will ever be involved as we don't know what was the underlying cause. It could have been injury to the eye rather than a systemic problem. Cookie can often be found burrowed in a blanket, and when we arrive starts to dig herself out! None of the pups appear to be serious barkers, only barking to warn that someone is at or near the front door, and then they settle down again. They are great with cats, because they were housemate with six (6) cats! If shown a lot of affection and understanding when welcomed into their new homes, we are sure these lovely kiddos will do well in loving new homes even when they won’t be staying together. IMPORTANT NOTE: Recently the number of deaths from hungry coyote attacks has greatly increased. Coyotes can climb 10 foot fences with a small to medium sized dog in their jaws. This happens in broad daylight in the middle of the day, and on trails while hiking with your dog on a leash, it is truly unbelievable, and we have frightening first-hand accounts. We are listing these lovely pups to help their current foster in finding them wonderful new homes. All four girl pups are spayed, Shorty is neutered, and all of them current on vaccines. To learn more about Cookie (or Shorty, Millie, Poopsy, and Missy), please contact us at: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email for donations and sponsorships).
