Story
Born approximately 8/8/21 Snickers is a young, Chiweenie who came to us after his owner passed away. Prior to his rescue he escaped the outdoor kennel he had been living in and was attacked by another dog receiving a severe injury to his throat that required immediate vet care. Snickers, Snicky, Snikster, Snickity Cricket etc. put the wig in wiggly. He gets so excited when you get home that he screams his vocalizations to let you know how happy he is that you’ve returned. He’s the perfect mix of high and low energy, up for just about anything like a long walk but just as happy to stay home and hang out in the back yard or napping. He’s currently living in a foster home with both large and small dogs as well as cats. He’s been fine with all but occasionally will growl if he thinks they are invading his nap space – he responds well to a firm – no or knock it off. Snickers tends to gobble his food and if given the opportunity will help himself to the cat’s food. He is crate trained and potty trained, however when he first arrived to live indoors, he would lift his leg to mark areas on occasion. He’s been wearing a belly band most of the time and stands still to put it on and take it off for trips outside. The band is typically dry when he is let outside routinely, indicating the urge/need to mark may be diminishing. Snickers is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He’s ready for a person or family that will commit to be his happy ever after – he wouldn’t mind being your one and only or to have a canine companion. A secure fenced yard is required and if there are children in the home, over the age of five is preferred. www.mikeyschance.com/adoption-application Thank you for choosing rescue! Story
Betty Lou is a small female Dachshund mix born approximately February 20, 2023. Weighing in a whooping 15lbs, she’s a spunky fun filled fighter - having beat her battle with parvo survivor and is now a happy, healthy girl, looking for a forever home! She’s lived with all sizes of dogs but seem to like those her size or bigger. Cats are fun to chase but seems to be more in play than harm. She’s crate trained and mostly housebroken. Leash manners need work as do basic commands. The good news is Betty Lou is a smart cookie and eager to please, so the time dedicated to training her will most certainly pay off! Betty Lou will be best in an active household - another canine playmate is a bonus! Betty Lou will thrive in a home where she has humans and/or other dogs there to help her burn off her puppy energy. Training classes are always encouraged to help both human and canine connect and built a strong relationship for the lifetime of the dog. Fenced yards will be given preference. Children over age 5 please. Applications: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
Born 4/4/23 Elio is a male Chiweenie (Chihuahua Dachshund mix) seeking a forever home. He is typically puppy - curious, playful and learning the ropes to be the best dog he can be.
