He is brave, playful, and endlessly curious, Wander has mastered the art of exploring his world through touch, scent, and an incredible memory. Once he's had a chance to map out his environment, he navigates like a pro. He knows exactly where his cozy beds are scattered throughout the house and can even track down his foster mom wherever she's hiding. His five siblings are his trusted companions, and he romps and plays with them confidently, proving that his disabilities are no barrier to fun. Communication with Wander is all about creative connection. He's learning to use his bark and responds beautifully to praise delivered as a gentle hum against his neck—a moment of vibration and warmth that tells him he's loved. He's also learning boundaries through soft puffs of breath on his face, which help him understand his limits in a kind, clear way. This resilient boy is a testament to adaptability and spirit. He's looking for a patient, loving home that will continue nurturing his confidence and celebrating his remarkable ability to thrive. Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. BB King arrived with a case of the Blues, and we are ready to help change that! Believed to have just turned a year old, Chiweenie BB is learning about loving safe family life! BB is learning to trust humans, and loves the other dogs in his foster home, they are showing him the ropes and helping him to understand life gets better from here. BB started out shy, but is showing his sweetness after only a couple days in his foster home. BB came to us as from the Yakima area, where he had been living houseless in an encampment. BB has seen our vet where he received a stellar report, is on track with his weight, received his vaccinations, rabies and microchip. BB will be neutered soon and is ready for his forever home! BB will be neutered and vaccinated to age appropriate as included in his adoption donation.

Meet Paige… a spunky 5 year old who is looking for a family to love and snuggle with. Paige was surrendered to us by a woman after she had been abandoned at her house for a year by a sibling. She has been an outside dog and is learning to be housed trained. She has been introduced to numerous dogs at her foster family and has had no trouble adjusting. Her favorite activity is sleeping… either in your lap, or on the back of the couch. When it’s time to go outside… she spins in circles with excitement then quickly runs outside to explore and sniff everything. She has excellent recall and comes back quickly when called if not on a leash. She is happiest when her person is near. She will make an excellent companion to anyone looking for unconditional love.*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas.
