Animal Profile: Lemon is an adorable dachshund mix who is estimated to be around 1 year old and weighs 18lbs. She was rescued from a high kill shelter in Bakersfield, CA.  Foster Update: Meet Lemon! She is hard to miss with this adorable ears. Lemon is all love, and she is not afraid to let you know it. Lemon's foster mom describes her as follows: "Lemons is a velcro dog- she wants to be in your lap under a blanket and she wants to please her human; she is very quick to roll over on her back and submit to me. She is incredibly sweet, but doesn't know her own strength, which we are working on." Lemon is equal parts snuggle bug, equal part sidekick - she is ready to take on the world with her human! Lemon is being fostered with another dog and they get along well; Lemon often taking cues from the resident pup. However, Lemon does need clear leadership and boundaries to follow when living with another dog. Without a clear understanding of who is in charge, she feels she needs to be the one to protect her human, and she doesn't want that to be the case.  Stay tuned as we continue to get to know Lemon! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate.
