If you’re looking for the sweetest, loviest couch potato around, I’m your guy! I’m an 11-year-old, 30lb dachshund mix and my foster mom says I have the most adorable pot belly. I may be working on my summer bod already  I am truly an incredible boy. I am potty trained, calm, quiet, and can be left out in the house for hours. I’m not destructive and I really just want to follow you around the house all day and be where you are. My favorite spot to be is perched up on top of the couch. I have stubby little legs, so I appreciate the extra height! I am trained, too! I can sit, shake, “sit pretty”, and I do great in a crate if needed. Naps are my favorite thing, but don’t let my age fool you. I still have a LOT of life left! I like to run around and play with stuffies, jump up and down from the couch with ease, explore the yard, and walks are so exciting! I am pretty shy with new people at first, so I take some time to warm up. But once I love you (and it doesn’t take much!) I don’t like to be separated from my humans—but I’m fine if I am. I get along great with all dogs and would be great in a home with other respectful dogs, or also as an only dog. I really am looking for a calm and quiet home where I can continue to get my naps and be your companion. My ideal family won't have children (it's my one flaw! Kids make me very nervous!) You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Awrroooo Awroooo! Thats right I’m a sweet adorable Basset Hound and I do love to howl when I’m excited and when I’m sad. I was estimated to be 3 years old, but my foster mama thinks I’m younger. As I’m super duper playful and love to chew on things, meaning if you leave your shoes unattended outside, I think they are fair game and just another toy.  I was in the shelter for a long time before becoming a Rescue Rover dog, and lost a lot of weight. So I’m currently working on gaining that back.  I love other dogs and really like to playful with my foster brother kitty cat too.  My foster mama says I have the most adorable ears and eyes and I love to snuggle.  I’m crate trained but don’t love the crate.  Because of my howling (all bassst hounds howl, it’s a breed characteristic) living in an apartment would not be for me, as neighbors might complain of my beautiful singing   I’ve met some kids and was great with them!  If you think you’d like to meet me, please apply as I would love to meet you and see if you might be the pawfect fur parent.  Apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 6, 2024, 12:47 am
