Story
I am looking for a new foster! I will also need a temp foster from 1/6-1/8 and 1/21-1/23 if I do not have a new foster by then. Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org to sign up to foster! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hi! My name is Dixie and I am from Oklahoma. From her foster: Dixie recently joined us from Oklahoma. While she is not a fan of the cold weather yet, she is getting used to it. Dixie loves nothing more than a good snuggle session on the couch or cuddling up in bed. Her house training is good on a schedule, and she gets along well with other dogs, but may need a bit of time to learn to share high value items such as her people. She also loves her meals and may try to mooch out of other dog's bowls so should be monitored at meal time. She enjoys walks and loves to take in the scents along the path. She will make a wonderful companion . Have not assessed how she does with cats, seems like she would be good with children. From the vet team: Dixie has Cushings Disease which is a condition that produces too much of certain hormones. My future adopters should be aware of what the condition entails and know this will require medication and monitoring with a primary veterinarian.  It was also discovered that I have mammary masses. I have an upcoming surgery to remove these masses. I will be available to go to my forever home after the biopsy results return. Future mass development is something that should be monitored with a primary veterinarian.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxWalter is a goofy and cuddly guy who wants to be near his people. He loves laying in the sun, going on walks, treats & toys and being under the covers.    Walter needs a fully fenced yard as he can be quite the escape artist. He likes to run for short bursts in the yard and find smells to roll in.  Walter gets along with his two resident dogs, but is still learning polite greetings with new dogs.   Walter is very curious, and needs someone who can be patient and reassure him. He is still working on leash training and is currently demonstrating some reactivity with other dogs. Based on the fosters observations we beleive that Walter may be hard of hearing.   Walter is left home with the resident dogs for a few hours at a time. He is known to be a snoop and counter surfer, so he is put in a room with our resident dog. He will settle when left with a doggy friend.    Walter picks up on patterns and routines quickly. He is not a quiet boy and will express his needs.   At this time, we do not how Walter does with kids or cats. Walter tends to be curious, cautious and skittish around new animals and meeting people outside the home.    Currently we are working on basic obedience and leash etiquette. Walter seems to have some reduced hearing and vision. We suspect it's genetic/congenital. He does not seem to be in any pain from it and we are working with MARS Vet to keep tabs on it. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks.   Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250Winston AKA Marty is a senior dachshund mix, though he acts much younger than13. He was surrendered through no fault of his own and is a sweet, little guy who loves food, blankets, and cuddles. He’s incredibly curious, he spent many hours in his first few days with usexploring every nook and cranny he could get his long body into. He’s not a very good listener,he doesn’t respond to his name and only knows “sit.” His ears still work though; he’ll comerunning if he hears anything resembling a treat or food bag.Winston may appreciate being an only dog. In our home, we have a 10-year-old husky/shepherdmix who is incredibly calm, patient, and tolerant. They’re getting along ok, with some occasionalbarking and lunging, mostly by Winston. He’s very territorial around toys and food. Our dogisn’t very interested in toys in her senior years, but Winnie will growl and snap even when ahuman tries to touch or take away his toy. Much of this may be the stress of a new environmentand we’re working on desensitizing him with toys. He’s had one interaction with a young kidsince he’s been with us where he growled and barked. He has “small dog attitude.” He acts verytough and fierce when visitors come to the door. We don’t know if he’s ever been exposed tocats. He is crate trained, which is a safe spot for him.If you want to win this man’s heart, the answer is food. Treats, dog food, or human food, anything he thinks he can eat, he wants. He also occasionally eats poop, so you’ll need to keep aclose eye on him while on walks or potty breaks. He uses a slow feeder for his meals, though hisfood is still scarfed down in about a minute.Winston is very agile. He has no problems jumping up and down to furniture, and even“parkours” from the ottoman to the chair to the couch. He bravely leaps off tall human beds butuses a set of doggie stairs to get back up. He enjoys sitting on laps and cuddling under blankets. If you want him to settle down and take a nap, he needs to have a blanket, or he’ll get coldquickly. He’s had a few accidents in our home on the first two days, one we think was himmarking his territory. Winston has shown no interest in chewing or damaging furniture, shoes, etc. When he’s let outside, he doesn’t wander far. Winston would probably make a goodapartment dog.He loves walks but gets cold even with a coat during our Minnesota winter. He may prefer to bethe only pet in a house where his humans are home often. When you do leave him, he whimpersin his crate for just a few minutes. He’s content to nap all tucked in while someone works fromhome or make an appearance from your lap during zoom meetings. He would thrive with aconsistent routine. His surrendering family got him up at 6am every morning for potty andbreakfast, we’re trying to encourage him to wake up a bit later for us.It will ll take some patience and boundary setting, but this little guy is quite the lover and you’ll berewarded with lots of little dog snuggles. This dog is so “food motivated” that training should goquickly. He needs a warm, loving home for his final years, maybe that’s with you.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Charlotte (approx 11mos & 25lbs) is a very sweet and playful little lady who loves to frolic with the other dogs in her foster home. She warmed up to her foster humans and dog-friends in just a couple days! Though initially cautious of doorways and going in and outside at first, she now follows the other pups in & outside and is gaining confidence. Charlotte’s potty training is still a work in progress - but since her foster mom works from home and keeps her on a schedule and looks for cues, it’s getting better every day! Since Charlotte is still a young pup, when she meets someone new she is learning how not to jump up, and piddle a little bit in excitement. Charlotte stays out around the house for most of the day, but does go in her kennel for night-time. She does pretty well and calms down and falls asleep once the lights are off and everyone is in bed.  Charlotte loves treats, toys, bones, chew toys and stuffed animals with a squeaker, so she keeps herself pretty entertained during the day. She is still learning how to walk on a leash, but will get there with some patience and a bag of treats on every walk!  Once Charlotte warms up to you, she will be your best snuggle buddy for movie nights or couch naps! Charlotte hasn’t had the chance to meet kids or cats yet, but definitely needs another dog around to play and learn from in her forever home. Given her breed, she'll also need a securely fenced in yard. Interested in fostering and/or adopting? Please complete an interest form on our website here. If you are viewing this listing on PETFINDER there is often MORE INFO ON and MORE PICS OF the animal DIRECTLY ON OUR WEBSITE. http://redemptionroadrescue.rescuegroups.org *Adoption fees range from $525-$650, depending on the individual animal* redemptionroad.mn@gmail.com https://www.facebook.com/RedemptionRoadRescue   All animals fully vetted appropriate for age: spayed/neutered, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (@12 months or older), microchipped with lifetime registration, dewormed, flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention.  *Since we typically don't know a rescue dog's actual genetics, their breed and estimated size when grown on their bio is just an educated guess based on information ond observations we have.*  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 16, 2024, 3:27 pm
