Meet Harlequin 💕
Harlequin is a 7–8 year old Dachshund weighing around 10 lbs, and she is everything you could want in a little companion dog. Sweet, devoted, and happiest right by your side, she has truly mastered the art of being someone’s shadow.
Harlequin thrives on routine and quickly learns the rhythm of her home. When the alarm goes off in the morning, she knows it’s time to start her day—heading out to potty and then eagerly waiting for breakfast, her little body wiggling with excitement and her tail wagging the whole time. After breakfast, she’s ready to settle in for what she does best… snuggling.
Her favorite place in the world is your lap. Whether you’re working, relaxing, or winding down for the evening, Harlequin will happily stay close, soaking up every moment with her person. She enjoys regular potty breaks every couple of hours and, of course, never says no to a tasty treat.
She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and types. She hasn’t been tested with cats. Harlequin also enjoys car rides and will happily tag along wherever life takes you.
Evenings are her favorite—dinner, followed by cozy snuggles, and then bedtime curled up next to you. She sleeps peacefully through the night with no messes and truly cherishes that close connection.
When left alone, Harlequin prefers to stay curled up on the bed rather than in a crate, though she will tolerate a crate if needed. Because of her loving, people-focused nature, she would do best in a home where someone is around often and can give her the time and companionship she thrives on.
Harlequin requires a secure physical fenced yard.
She is spayed, has received a dental, is microchipped, and current on vaccines.

Applications at leiashope.org
Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3), foster-based rescue. Applications take 7–10 business days to process. Meet and greets are held after an approved application with all family members present. Adopters must travel to the dog’s location—no transport is provided. If flying, dogs must travel in the cabin.
Harlequin is ready to find her person—the one whose lap she can call home forever. 💗
