Story
Mac is a great dog that was with the same family since a puppy. They had to surrender him due to their little kids. He likes older kids, but requires calm environments. He takes a bit to warm up to strangers and other dogs. Men do make him nervous but with exposure and good interactions, he warms up. He sits, lays down, listens well. He is fully potty trained and goes in his kennel with just one command. He is looking for a home that is quieter and more laid back. He does like to eat alone in peace. Mac takes treats very nicely from a hand. He does well with our 2 dogs (low energy), would not recommend a home with energetic dogs. Not sure about cats.

Story
I’ve been lucky enough to have my homie Draco by my side for the past six years, ever since I brought him home from a local breeder in Milwaukee. We’ve shared so many wonderful moments together, but life can be challenging, especially with my demanding schedule as a firefighter. Unfortunately, Draco's behavior when I’m not around has created some difficulties for my girlfriend. Making the decision to find a new home for him is incredibly hard for me. Draco is such a loving and affectionate dog, always craving cuddles and attention. He has a laid-back personality, but he can also be a bit stubborn at times. He truly adores kids and gets along well with other dogs, which is why it breaks my heart to even think about this. I want what’s best for him, and I hope to find someone who can give him the love and care he deserves.

Story
4/17 PUPDATE - Wiwi has been in Wisconsin for a month now. He is a very sweet boy who would love a family to call his own! He is a little nervous with new things but is working on his puppy skills: leash walking, potty training, etc. He loves to love - which includes snuggling, giving kisses, getting belly rubs, playing with other dogs. He is 4 months and around 40 pounds so he will be a large boy when full grown but he will definitely be a gentle giant!   **3/6 Update - these puppies have gotten BIG! We now know they will be large dogs when full grown. Best guess on breed is mastiff/american bulldog - based on size and looks.  These adorable mixed breed pups are high energy sweethearts! They started showing up around town and all of them have scratches on their faces, leading us to believe they broke free from whatever containment system they were being held in (crate, fence, etc). They are healing and doing great! They are currently in Oklahoma but we are accepting applications for active families now before they come to Wisconsin. 4/17 Pupdate - Gigi is as goofy as her picture shows! She is a perfect mix of sassy and sweet. She will curl up in your lap for snuggles all while chewing on your hair or ear! She loves to give kisses and snuggle and get belly rubs! She is 4 months old and close to 40 pounds so she will be large when full grown. She loves to take walks and is working on all of her puppy basics! Will make an amazing family dog!  **3/6 Update - these puppies have gotten BIG! We now know they will be large dogs when full grown. Story
Handsome-boy Tonka needs a miracle. Due to a drastic change in his owner’s life, Tonka finds himself immediately in-need of a new foster and/or forever home. We know this is a big ask…as this BIG boy has quite a few specific requirements…but we are hopeful that his gorgeously giant smush-face will capture someone’s heart *just* enough to prompt them to give him a shot/bring him home!  Tonka’s details: 6 years old Is a mastiff/bloodhound mix Dog-friendly (Tonka LOVES other dogs! He actually tends to warm up more quickly to humans if there are other dogs around, and would prefer another dog in the home to romp around and explore with. He has done wonderfully with every single dog he’s met! ).  Does ok with dog-savvy cats. If the kitties don’t run, he does just fine…however if they do run, he will chase/terrorize them! Rides very well in a vehicle!  Is extremely loyal, loving, mellow, and snuggly. Fully potty-trained Loves to lounge, is incredibly smart, and doesn’t chew on anything he shouldn’t.  Tonka’s home requirements: Tonka’s #1 setback is that he has “stranger danger.” He is NOT a dog who’s able to be immediately approached by new humans. Therefore any introductions with him need to be slow and proper (no staring, no sudden behaviors/quick movements, no reaching hands toward him, no pets until he’s ready…& REALLY good treats!), with a calm, understanding, and patient demeanor. It can take anywhere from 30mins to several days for Tonka to fully adjust to new people…but once he does, you are “in” with him and he is SO faithful and SO loving! His person will need to be his advocate, as any/all encounters he makes should strictly follow the above guidelines. NO kids! He has a protective nature, and children come with more commotion + more noise. Therefore a kiddo-free environment is a must.  Much prefers females over males. Tonka’s past – before rescue – could’ve definitely held some misuse by a male figure in his life. He undoubtedly gravitates toward women, so would thrive with a single, confident female. Otherwise a couple [with a very patient male] could also prove to be the perfect placement! Toys and treats (especially if they include peanut butter! ) aplenty are a MUST! If living in town, a fenced-in, private yard is a necessity. He will react to/bark at (& has quite the BIG bark!) people walking by…and so quiet, country-living would be most ideal. More than anything, Tonka yearns for LOVE! If you show him compassion and earn his trust, he is amazing beyond measure! If you’re willing to give him that chance, he promises to return that love for the rest of his days.  APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com Tonka is an eligible foster-to-adopt candidate, so please private message us with any interest/additional questions ##1983835##

Story
*DOB: 5-8-18*Sergeant is a big guy! Coming in at a whopping 112lbs he is just full of love. His size and bark can be intimidating but we can assure you he`s just a big cuddle bug! Sergeant knows a few basic commands such as sit and shake. He was found on the side of the road with a pile of food. In the short time that we have had Sergeant he has come a long way! He takes a bit to warm up to new people so he would **require multiple meet and greets.** Sergeant seems to prefer Women and is a little more cautious around Men. He is currently being treated for a skin infection but since he needs multiple meet and greets he should be good to go before you take him home! Sergeant is just looking for a home with endless love and unlimited tennis balls. If that home sounds like yours apply for sergeant online at eastshoreha.org!As of now we are by appointment only. Please apply online or call the shelter before coming. Once you submit your application one of our staff members will process it and reach out to you to schedule a meet and great. Please apply online at Eastshore Humane. Thanks!
