FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Introducing this humongous boy, Fasa! Fasa (short for Mufasa) is a 3.5-year-old, 170 LB Boerboel who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA hoping to find an amazing forever home here in WA! Fasa is very charming, sweet, and extremely strong. He will require an adopter that can handle his strength and has large breed experience. We are also looking for a standalone home with a yard outside of the city as he would not do well as a city dog. He is very loving and will be an incredibly loyal companion to whoever adopts him, but he will require a strong leader who will set the proper boundaries he needs to maintain his good temperament and keep him well exposed and socialized. He has done well with other dogs in our care and would do well with another dog in the home, preferably a female. He would also do just fine as an only dog where he can soak up all the love and attention! Fasa is a beautiful boy with a lot of love to give and will make an amazing companion to whoever adopts him! He is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee $400.

Story
Finley is a two year spayed female Mastiff mix/American Bully. We have had her since she was 10 weeks old. We adopted her from a friend who had an “accidental” litter. She has been raised with a 5 year old Cane Corso/American Bulldog and a 10 year old Shih Tzu. When we got Finley, we had a 5 year old cat. When Finley was about 1 year old she was startled by the cat and responded by grabbing her around the neck, which ultimately killed our cat. We thought (hoped) this would be a one time occurrence because she was so young. Finley has now started becoming very jealous of our Shih Tzu and has started bullying him. She has snapped at him and made attempts to bite him. We feel we need to rehome Finley to a home where she can be the only pet and be the center of attention. She is a very loving, snuggly, and affectionate. It is breaking our hearts to do this.

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Etta! If you love a brindle than this is the puppy for you! She's soooo beautiful and sweet and confident. We got the puppies from a local shelter who said mommy is a Boerbel and daddy is a mastiff. At 16 weeks, she weighs about 26#, a little leaner than her sister. Etta is all the great things in a puppy - floppy, silly and sweet. She has met dogs, cats and kids and has done great. We are working on crate training and all kinds of puppy training. We think big dog experience, a large fenced yard and even another dog for a playmate would be wonderful. They will knock over little kids, as they have very little spacial awareness and are soft, furry wrecking balls! :) This puppy is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Save-A-Mutt requires a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit. Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. We are sending home a 34# bag of Pro Plan puppy kibble, to get ya started! Adoption fee is $575. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
