Some pets are in the Shelter and others in Foster homes. Please read the bio & email the address listed in the bio.   Additionally for CATS you  may email  JShelton@eulesstx.gov and for DOGS, email trinitygapclub@gmail.com       Meet Tank!  This very sweet dog was adopted four years ago, but sadly found himself in the shelter again through no fault of his own.   Tank is approximately five years old and a big teddy bear.   He should weigh around 80 pounds, but only weighs 63 at this time.   He appears to be a mastiff/terrier mix and is a very friendly dog.   We  do  not know why he was abandoned, but we want to make sure his next home is forever.   Tank appears to be potty trained and knows basic commands.   Although he is now heartworm positive, we will make sure he is treated as soon as he has a foster or forever home.   If you like big dogs, he will be your guy as soon as he gains his weight back. If you would like to save Tank and get a big loving boy,  please email steffeniegaprescue@gmail.comMarch 23, 2025, 12:08 am

Story
Meet Beignet! She is a 2 yr old spayed female Mastiff mix that weighs 80lbs. She was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/30. She is an amazing girl! She doesn’t show well in her kennel as her anxiety of being there for long periods of time shows. Once you get her out of her kennel, her demeanor instantly changes. She walks calmly, stays by your side and doesn’t pull at all on a leash. She enjoys being petted, takes treats very gently and knows the sit command. Beignet is friendly, and enjoys investigating her surroundings. Having a secured backyard to play in, but live indoors where she can cuddle close with her human companions, and take naps on her dog bed would be ideal. As she is a big girl she would need to live in a home, not an apartment. Also, she does not do well with cats or small dogs, but is ok with larger dogs. If you have another dog in the home, please ask the shelter for a dog test. She is truly a very special girl and you just have to meet her, to look into her eyes, to see how much love she has to give. Come spend time with her and you will see how amazing she is.

Story
Molly's people moved and left her behind. Molly is a playful loving, sweet girl who gets along with everybody. She does not jump fences but she loves to get out and run. Sometimes she acts like a puppy even though she's 5 years old. She's a big girl and she uses her muscle sometimes to push her way through the other dogs and get where she wants to go but she never attacks anybody or does anybody any harm she just likes to throw her weight around lol. She is a doll would love someone to wrestle with and go on walks with. She is Crate trained and house trained but she would love something to chew on in her crate at all times. Like I said, she still thinks she is a puppy with her chewing! She's good with big dogs and little dogs! Molly has been with us for over a year and would very much like a home of her own. Please come and meet Molly today. She would love to be your couch potato partner.

Story
Cane is currently in foster care! A note from his foster mom: Cane is the sweetest little hunk of baby love who enjoys being around people and other pets. He has easily assimilated into his foster home, always wagging his tail and looking for his next puppy pat and belly rub. He is good about going to a crate when needed, housebroken and will sit if there`s a treat involved. He loves plush toys and a good romp around the yard with the fur pack he`s with.  Cane can be adopted by contact us directly at 972-557-6035 or by email at animalservices@balchspringstx.gov!
