Available to Foster or Foster to Adopt Located in Paris, Ontario Born December 9th 2024 Adoption fee $700 Hi, I’m Beth, a gorgeous Mastiff mix pup with a heart as big as my paws! My siblings and I were born outside, braving the freezing cold, until we were lucky enough to find a warm place in rescue. Not long after I left my siblings for my very own foster home, I ended up in emergency surgery to treat two inguinal hernias. I was in critical condition, and they weren’t sure I’d make it through, but I wasn’t ready to give up! I fought through it and have been thriving in my foster home ever since. Despite every challenge I’ve faced, I’ve kept fighting, and now I’m ready to find the forever family I fought so hard for! I’m a total cuddle bug—my favorite place to nap is curled up in your lap. With my princess personality, I love being wrapped up in a cozy blanket. When I’m not snoozing, you’ll find me chasing toys, working on treat puzzles, or chewing on peanut butter Kongs. I’m currently living with three other dogs, and we get along great! I haven’t been around cats yet, but I’m pretty sure I’d be just fine with them. Potty training is still a work in progress, so I’ll need a family willing to help me with that. I do great in my crate and sleep soundly through the night, only crying if I need to go potty. I’m the perfect mix of playful companion and snuggly lap dog, and I’m looking for a family who’ll love me as much as I’ll love them. Together, we’ll make all the battles worth it! I am up to date on my vaccines, microchipped and will be spayed prior to moving to my furever home. If you think your home would be a good fit for a spunky girl like me, please fill out the application below. https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250

Story
Available to foster or adopt 3 years old Fostered in London, Ontario Well hey there!! I’m Noelle! And I’m ready to steal your heart! I came from a local First Nations community, where I was living outside with my pups. But luckily, we were all brought into care on December 14, 2024, and now I’m enjoying the good life indoors, all cozy and comfy. My pups don’t need me anymore, and now it’s my turn for some extra love and attention! Unfortunately, I tested positive for both heartworm and Lyme disease, so I am looking for a foster or adoptive home to let me relax while I go through treatment. My medical care is paid for by the rescue. I’m a total sweetheart: calm, loving, and always up for snuggling with my humans. I’m housebroken and great with kids. I’m eager to learn, and I’m pretty proud of my leash skills (they’re a work in progress, but I’m catching on!). I’ll always be near you, hoping for some pets—and maybe a snack or two (I’m very generous that way). I am still learning the ropes when it comes to leash skills but with patience and training, I’m making progress and looking forward to continued improvement! I am reactive to other dogs , so a home with no other pets is a must for me. I need a family who is willing to continue working with me and maybe, hopefully one day I will learn to love some doggy friends! I have been microchipped, am up to date on my vaccines and will be spayed in the near future. If you think your home could be a good fit for me, please apply below! https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250

Story
Available for Adoption Fostered in London, Ontario Born December 9th 2024 Adoption fee $700 Hi there, I'm Tate – though my friends sometimes call me Tater, Tater-tot, or even Po-tater! You might recognize me from the Yellowstone litter. I am a Mastiff mix of sorts, but I like to think of myself as a little champion with plenty of heart and a hint of playful mischief! Born on a frosty December day as one of eight adorable pups, I've always known I was my mama's favorite. I'm pretty sure I remember being born first, so I like to say I’m older by a few minutes. A few minutes is a lot if you're waiting for breakfast! I'm a total cuddle bug, always up for snuggles, naps, and playful romps. I love hanging out with the big dogs at playtime and showing off my spirited personality. Even though they are bigger than I am and a lot older, I definitely hold my own (and find good hiding spots they cannot fit into when I need a break—I love that trick). I even love the cat, and one day I know she will love me too. I'm crate trained and steadily perfecting my potty skills. And while I might not be the biggest fan of cold weather or snowy days, nothing beats curling up in a warm, cozy spot on the couch—especially when there's a funny YouTube video of squirrels on the screen. My perfect match is someone who will love me forever. I may be cute and small now, but just wait until I'm a big, lovable boy taking up a whole lot more of the couch. I'll need you to love me just as much then! If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart full of love, a dash of cheeky charm, and a spirit that’s as warm as your favorite blanket, then I might just be the perfect match for you. Let's make some unforgettable memories together! I am up to date on my vaccines, microchipped, and will be neutered next week. If you think you’re up for loving a guy like me, please fill out the application below! https://form.jotform.com/221626931360250

Ranger is the tallest of the males in his litter of 10. He is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He is a typical busy puppy, who loves to play, run, and wrestle. He will be a large dog, as both mom and dad are over 75 pounds. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. It is recommended that he attend a puppy socialization class to become comfortable with friends who are not his siblings. He will be visiting the vet this week for his vaccines, flea and tick treatment, microchip, and wellness screening. He will come with a voucher for his neuter at 6 months of age at our vet in Woodstock. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. We thankyou for respecting these guidelines.

**IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** For Adoption: Parsley! Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. To apply for adoption and for more information on our process and requirements, visit our website at https://pounddog.ca/adoption-info/. Nitro is a 2-year-old Rottweiler/Mastiff mix weighing in a about 102lbs and still has some filling out to do! He has a silky soft black coat on his back and head, typical of a Rottweiler, with the brindle colouring coming through on his legs and belly. He is a solid boy, and is very strong. He has a protective instinct, typical of his breed mix but when he settles in at home, he is a very sweet, cuddly and goofy boy. Nitro was found as a stray running loose and was brought into a shelter where he was unclaimed. We were able to bring him in into our care, which is for the best as he was very skinny when we got him, and hadn’t been cared for. Shortly after entering our care we found out that Nitro was heartworm positive. He obviously hadn’t been on heartworm prevention in his prior home and with heartworm very prevalent on Ontario now, and transmitted by mosquitos, he was susceptible. The treatment for heartworm is very involved and expensive but we took to getting him back to health and heartworm free. Nitro has now completed his heartworm treatment and is on preventative monthly to ensure he is never exposed again. His new family will need to commit to keeping him on heartworm prevention from the vet to ensure he is never exposed again. True to his breeds, with people he considers part of his pack, he is very loving and gentle and so very loyal. Nitro is very devoted to his people and absolutely adores his family. When we first got him, he was nervous of others coming into the house or out on walks, but having now settled in and with some leash training and positive association training he is doing very well. Nitro would be a suitable dog for an experienced guardian breed owner who is keen on training and can confidently handle a very large dog. His foster family has done a ton of work with him on obedience skills and he is such a smart dog, picking up on all new skills very quickly. We are looking for his forever family to continue the training we have already instilled in him and continue to build on that. He is not suitable for a first-time dog owner, but for those who are experienced with and love Rotties and Mastiffs, this handsome dude is the best of both breeds. Nitro would do best in a home with no kids or visiting kids. We’ve come to know and love his kind and gentle soul; however, he has a very strong protective instinct and doesn’t like any too quick movements. He’s a very quiet boy, only speaking when absolutely necessary – which is typically just to warn you of any potential threats or trespassers on the property. He has a deep, loud bark that would scare the pants off just about anyone but a simple “thank you” is all he needs to understand his job is done. He’s a very active dog, always looking for a job to do. If you don’t give him one, he will find something to occupy himself, and that’s usually finding any stray article of clothing on the floor and bringing it to you – he tends not to inflict any damage, but he likes a tidy house. He looks forward to his walks which are usually about 45 minutes, twice a day in order to expel his energy. He has learned to walk wonderfully on a leash at whatever pace the leash holder sets for him – with the odd reminder. Keep your eye out for squirrels and rabbits, he does like to chase but has learned pretty quickly that it’s not always necessary. Nitro is so eager to please his people and is incredibly adaptable to whatever life seems to throw his way. He does require exercise and a job to keep him on track, but is always quite happy to start and end the day with a cuddle on the couch – or your lap. He loves to roll around in the grass so once a month or so he gets a bath and a nail trim. He doesn’t love to get his ears cleaned but luckily, they don’t get too dirty. Nitro is fully house, and crate trained, he’s not had accidents here but has been known to ‘mark’ when visiting other homes with strong pet smells. He sleeps in his crate at night and is crated anytime he’s home alone. He was reluctant at first but has become very comfortable in his crate and will go in on his own – the fact that he gets a special treat every time he goes in certainly helps. He does require the plastic kennel style vs. the wire crate style cage – his preference and he will escape the wire crate. He is very gentle with food, we’ve had no issues petting him or taking a bowl from him – he does get a bit possessive with toys which we’re working on. Partly due to the fact that he tends to be quite destructive with toys, so he tends to lose access to them – so once he gets them, he hangs on pretty tight. On the bright side, in destroying toys he doesn’t seem to swallow any pieces, and he seems to know what is a toy and what is not a toy. Nitro also LOVES a car ride. It doesn’t matter where you’re going, long or short drive, he is eager to jump in and tag along. He sits quite nicely in the back seat just observing his surroundings. Nitro would do best in a detached or semi-detached home, with a fenced in yard that he can run and play in. He loves to be outside, where he likes to play fetch and chase critters out of the yard, however he doesn’t like to be left outside by himself. He requires a quiet home without a lot of people coming and going and few visitors. He needs proper introduction to all visitors, and random people can’t be coming and going at will. He is a home protection breed, and although he has never been aggressive in our care, he won’t stand for strangers coming into the house, or any rough housing type behavior going on in the house. Generally chill and super easy going with his people, he is on alert if strangers come on the property. Nitro would like to be the only pet in the home for now. We don’t know how he would be with cats as he hasn’t been cat tested. He has met a well mannered, friendly dog and he was fine with him. He could absolutely have dog friends to go on walks with, and once comfortable with them, could even have play sessions. But we would like him to be his new families sole focus for the first year at least so he can settle in, get fully trained, and fully mature, as power breeds take 3yrs to fully mature physically and emotionally. Nitro is incredibly smart and quick to learn his basic manners, particularly when there are treats involved. He’s still working on stay, because he very much likes to remain right by his humans’ side at all times. He’s got his sit and down commands pretty well mastered along with waiting to be told “go” before attacking his food dish. He’s also come a very long way with recall to the command – “here” – and will a bit of practice and diligence will have this mastered in no time. He’s incredibly eager to please and work for his people so training is very important to him, but he catches on very quickly and just needs the odd reminder. When Nitro came into foster care he was fully checked out, brought up to date on his vaccinations and neutered as well as tested and treated for heartworms. Initially he was a bit wary at the vet, however, in his subsequent appointments he’s received glowing reviews from the staff showing his ability to build trust. Nitro is a fiercely loyal and protective dog, and when shown love and care, becomes a sweet, loving and goofy boy. He’s incredibly smart and adaptable and will make a wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a dog that will always be by your side, and have your back, Nitro just might be the guy for you! For Adoption: Titan! Take a seat while I tell you all about Titan who is a certified 10/10 good boy! Titan is approximately 4.5 months old and he is a perfect mix of Bullmastiff and German Shepherd, with I’m sure a bit of Husky in there too. Titan is currently a whopping 32lbs, he is growing fast now that he is on a good consistent diet and he is gaining weight quickly. Titan will grow to be a very large and sturdy dog and I expect him to exceed 80lbs fully grown. Titan has a beautiful tan coloured coat that is so soft and luxurious, he’s got some black markings coming in along his back, and a beautiful black mask. He really is a very striking and good looking dog. He has the most heartwarming brown eyes that will watch every move you make, and he is always looking to you for direction on what he should do next. Don’t let his looks fool you though, he’s not just handsome, this boy is SMART with a dashing personality to match. Titan came to us all the way from Northern Manitoba where he was saved by Save a Dog Network after being found roaming all alone out in the cold and starving, from there he took a plane and was welcomed into our care with Pound Dog Rescue. It was clear that Titan had not had a full meal in quite some time and in addition he also had worms when he arrived so he was experiencing diarrhea. From the moment we brought Titan into our home it was clear that he had had some less than desirable experiences with humans as he was fairly skittish if we went in to pet him. It didn’t take him long to realise though that we were not going to hurt him and we were there to help him eat, grow and learn how to love. Titan warmed up to the dogs in the household immediately and was won over by the adults in teens in the home within hours. Titan is currently living in a home with adults and teens and he loves everyone very much. Titan is still unsure about super fast movements though, between him being unsure of fast movements and loud noises and the fact that he is a very large gangly puppy we are recommending a home with kids that are aged 10+ who are well versed in proper interactions with dogs and understand how to be calm and deal with a large puppy who may occasionally like to jump up or puppy mouth. Titan is also living in a home with several dogs, of all ages. Titan loves to play, he would play all day long if it was up to him. Running around the backyard or the house, playing keep away with toys or tug, or just some fun wrestle matches, this boy is up for it all. He is also quite content to find an open pet bed and chew on a toy all on his own. Titan has been very respectful of the older dogs in the home, he has on occasion tried to initiate play with them, but he respects their cues when they are not interested. Titan is still working on his confidence and right now he is still a very submissive dog when it comes to interacting with other dogs, it’s really important that if there is another dog in the home that it not be a dog that is super confident who may potentially bully him. Titan also has a cat in the home, our cat is very dog savvy and therefore we do not find her on the floor very often, but on the occasion when she has been around Titan has been fairly respectful of her and has shown moderate interest. I believe that Titan would be suitable for a home with a dog savvy cat, as long as his new owners are of the understanding that this integration could take many weeks or months for them to become compatible. Titan is fully crate trained, he goes into his crate for all of his meals, for bed time at night as well as when we are gone during the day. We have made Titan’s bed a very safe place for him and a comfortable place with blankets, because of this Titan absolutely loves his bed and has no issues with going in. Titan has always been super quiet in his bed and normally doesn’t make a peep. He will gladly lay down and wait, knowing full well that you will come and let him out when its time. It will be very beneficial for Titan to continue his crate training in his adoptive home so that he will always have a safe place that he can go to when needed, this can come in handy if you are having work done on your home and need him in a safe place, or for when you need to leave the house you know that he will be safe and not getting into any mischief. Titan is also 98% house trained! I say 98% because Titan has not yet figured out how to let us know when he needs to go outside to use the bathroom, but he is always going to the bathroom outside. Titan has done fairly well right from the beginning with this with only a few accidents, and the last few weeks have been completely accident free, we have Titan on a very consistent schedule for bathroom break currently. Titan has been on a few car rides during his time with us, and he has been a fantastic traveller! Currently Titan is in his crate in the back seat when we travel anywhere, and he will immediately lay down and not make a peep until you get to wherever you are going! Titan is very much an adventurer and that means that going for walks are one of his favourite things to do! Titan currently goes on at least 2 walks a day, sometimes these walks are on his own, and sometimes they are with the other dogs in the household, either way Titan is always up for the adventure! Titan is an excellent walker, if you keep engaged with him and provide the occasional treat you will have him loose leash walking from his martingale collar the entire time. There is the occasional time where he will pull from the end of your leash, but if you give him a few leash pops and continue to talk to him he will return right back to a loose leash again, which I then always reward him for. Titan loves all the smells and sights when he is out for his walks and he has been enjoying the many more squirrels, rabbits and birds that we have been seeing. He does sometimes get a little over excited for these animals, however talking to him and keep his attention re-directed to you is always a sure fire way to get through it! Titan is definitely looking for a family who is outdoorsy and loves to go for long walks and trail hikes, as this is something that he loves to do! Training is always a very important part of dog ownership, if not one of the most important things. It’s important that his new forever home understand that training is a lifelong thing and not just 7 classes and your done. There is always something to be learned to keep their curious minds working, as well it’s always good to keep up with their socialization and continue building that confidence! During his time with us I have enrolled him in some training classes to help him with building his confidence, and he has also shown that he has quite the drive to learn and wants to please. He is doing so well in his classes and I am so proud of him! Training is of course a requirement of our adoption contracts here at Pound Dog, however given Titans breed and how much he enjoys training, we are really looking for a home for him where someone will be committed to taking him through advanced levels of obedience and possibly move onto something like agility or a dog sport afterwards. As mentioned above, Titan is a very beautiful boy and he is certainly eye catching but he has so much more to him than just his looks. This boy is such a sweet soul, you can tell he really puts everything into anything he does. When he plays, he plays hard. When he sleeps, he’s passed out. When you’re working and training him, he is learning so well! He really does deserve the 10/10 rating for being the best boy, but shh don’t tell my dogs that. Titan has adapted so well to living in a home with us after being found wandering in the north, he now thoroughly enjoys the comforts of living in a home and having pet beds and couches to sleep on, he really loves to hang out and watch TV with you at the end of the night! This boy is always up for whatever you’re up for. Now that Titan is eating good food and having consistent meals, he is definitely starting to put on some weight, but it’s very clear that he still has a ways to go because his body is still constantly growing at this point! Its important that he be kept on a good high quality diet to ensure that he will continue to get all the nutrients that he needs to be able to grow big and strong. Titan has been in to see our vet and he is doing very well. We are looking for a home for Titan where he can either be the only dog or he can have a buddy as long as they are not too confident or pushy of a dog. His ideal home would have children who are aged 10+. I believe that Titan would do well living in most home situations, such as either a detached home, or a semi-detached as he does not make too much noise in his crate. His ideal home would hopefully have a fenced in yard for him to be able to hang out in the sun and run around to find some sticks to chew on. We are looking for a home where he will get lots of walks and trail hikes daily to help him work out his energies and someone who is committed to his training. If Titan sounds like the dog for you, then I suggest you submit an application today for this good boy! #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #rescuedog #adoptdontshop #pounddogs #pdr13years #pounddogrescue13yearsstrong Name: Titan ID # PDR1352 Age: 4.5mths Gender: male UTD vaccines: yes Breed: Bullmastiff/German Shepherd Colours: fawn, black mask Coat length: short House trained: yes Special needs: no OK with kids: older OK with cats: yes Ok with dogs: yes Status: adoptable Microchip: yes Size: large Location: Plattsville Adoption fee: $900
