Story
Introducing River: A Strong, Loyal Companion Seeking a Special Adult-Only HomeMeet River, a 7-year-old mastiff mix with a heart as big as his presence! Weighing in at around 50 pounds, River is a dog who brings both strength and affection to the table. He’s looking for a loving, patient, and experienced adopter who understands his unique needs and is ready to help him flourish in a calm, structured environment. He can be a bit shy around strangers but once he warms up, he’s a loyal and devoted companion. He thrives in the presence of his people and is most comfortable in a home where he can feel secure. River’s ideal home is one with no other pets or small animals, as he has a high prey drive and a tendency to react around other dogs and cats. He would do best as the sole pet in an adult-only household where he can receive the attention and guidance he deserves.Training & Behavior Needs:River has a few things he`s working through, but with the right owner, he has the potential to make great strides. Here`s what you should know about him:Leash Training: River is strong and loves to pull on the leash during walks, so he will need a bit of work to improve his leash manners. With some consistent training and positive reinforcement, he will learn how to walk more politely.Dog Reactivity: Due to his reactivity to other dogs, River needs a calm, pet-free home. He can get overwhelmed by the presence of other animals and will need time and patience to work through his reactivity. With the right guidance, he can learn to manage these impulses.Food Guarding: River has some food guarding tendencies that will require careful management and training. His new family should be prepared to work with him on this issue, using positive reinforcement techniques to help him feel more secure around food.Timid with Strangers: While River can be a little timid with new people, once he gets to know you, he becomes a loving and loyal companion. His ideal adopter will be patient and gentle, allowing River the time he needs to feel comfortable. Why River?River is a big-hearted dog who will give you his unwavering loyalty in exchange for a patient, understanding, and consistent owner. He’s looking for someone who will work with him on his behavioral challenges, help him manage his reactivity, and provide a calm, safe environment where he can thrive. River is sure to reward your efforts with affection, companionship, and

Story
Lilah is a gentle and loving 1 year old dog very easy to care for and is crate trained. She has had no issues with other dogs aside from our one border collie who she does not get along with. We love and care for her very dearly but at this time it is not feasible to keep the two together. She has always been great with kids and cats. She does have a heart condition which means she cannot be spayed. Our hopes are that someone will adopt her who can love her as much as we do. We can also provide the crate she likes to sleep in.
