Name: GregoryAge: 3 years old Breed: Mastiff mixLikes: Being around people, watching tv with his `person`, going for walks, to snuggle, playing fetch both on land and in water, his toy ball, stick or frisbee, being groomed, car rides, treat puzzles or hunting for treats in the house Dislikes: Being alone! What would the ideal home: Gregory is looking for a home with lots of cuddles and one that makes sure he gets exercise. He prefers not to be left alone a lot, but does well being left for a few hours, especially once he settles in and knows that you will return predictably! Good with cats: Dependent on the cat.Good with dogs: Yes, but recommend a home without a dominant male dog. He is more of a people dog and doesn`t seem to really play with another dog.Good with children: Dependent - recommended no kids under 14 years.Temperament: Friendly, PlayfulMotivators: Food/treats. He loves veggies (celery/carrots), fruit, and peanut butter!Known commands: `Sit` , `Wait` for food or to catch up on walks, `Drop it` for toys, `down`, `touch`, `stay`, `come`, `spin`, he also has very good recallHouse trained: YesCrate trained: Yes, but doesn`t love it. Recommended to only crate for short periods. He is not destructive at all when left alone, he usually just sleeps. How long will it take to settle into a new environment: 3-3-3 rule: First 3 days - Your dog may be overwhelmed and may hide, have a lack of appetite, or test boundaries. Give them space and time to adjust in a quiet room with their bed, food, water, and toys. 3 weeks - Your dog may start to settle in and their personality will emerge. You can expect behavior issues to arise, so set boundaries and expectations with positive reinforcement training. 3 months - Your dog should be comfortable and acclimated to your home. They should know their routine and expect meals and enrichment at specific times.Any special needs or traits the adopter should know: Although Gregory likes to be active he does not have endurance. He will play for awhile and then rest. He loves to go for walks and will pull a bit at first but then settle into whatever pace you set for him. Gregory loves to go for ´sniffing’ walks. Gregory is not afraid of loud noises. He sits calmly through thunderstorms and loves to sit on a covered porch and watch the rain. We have had construction going on next door and I have taken him on
