Story
Kodiak is the true definition of an adventure buddy! Do you enjoy hiking, running, biking, swimming or exploring? Kodiak is the perfect dog for you! In fact he is already and waiting at the door for you! He is an intelligent dog who is capable of learning extremely quickly. He already knows the commands sit, down, stay, come, and speak! Kodiak’s greatest strength is his loyalty; Up or down, good or bad, happy or sad it will be Kodiak and you against the world. What makes Kodiak special is that he has so much love to give. The exact reasons you are looking for a dog are the same reason Kodiak desperately wants his forever human. He will need a very active adult-only family to drain his energy in order to keep him happy. Kodiak is looking for an experienced and confident owner to continue working on his reactivity to dogs and new people. He will need a strong leader to slowly introduce him to new people using the methods he has been taught while at Dog Tales. Kodiak is not friendly with strangers, children or other animals. Therefore he will need to live in a house with a fully fenced backyard. Once he is comfortable with a person he will become very attached and a great listener. Kodiak is looking for his chance with someone special. Upon adoption, Dog Tales can provide training for Kodiak and you in order to set you up for success.

Story
King Tutt / Male / 2 years / 66 lbs / Mastiff Mix / Good with Dogs / No Cats Please / Good with Children / From Tennessee / Fostered in Toronto ** Follow King Tutt’s journey on Instagram @tk_fetchfosters Meet King Tutt! This beautiful brindle boy came to us from Tennessee where he, his brother and dad were left without a home. Despite his difficult past, King Tutt is full of charm and is sure to win over everyone he meets. King Tutt’s foster’s describe him as loyal, loving and playful. He loves to make new friends, whether human or canine. Being with his people is important to him, whether it is out on an adventure, playing at home, or lounging on the couch. King Tutt can be a silly guy, who enjoys exploring, playing with toys, swimming, and running in the yard. He will make a great addition to an active family. King Tutt is a social butterfly, who loves to meet new people, and soak up attention from those he already knows. He has shown no hesitation, and will greet people with excitement, ready for scritches and cuddles. King Tutt has met older children and done well. He sees them as more humans to give him love and attention and will soak it all up. He can get excited and jump, so interactions should be monitored. Although he has not met young children, given his demeanor we think he would do well with respectful, dog-savvy children. King Tutt is very adaptable and is happy to be where his people are. Given this he would do well in any living environment, so long as he has access to greenspace. A home with a yard would be amazing, as he loves to run and play, but if given sufficient exercise he will be good. He really does love to explore and play outdoors, so an active family that shares his love of nature would be perfect. Playing with other dogs is one of King Tutt’s favourite activities. He currently lives with another dog and enjoys his company. King Tutt would do well solo as well, he would just need opportunities to socialize and play with other dogs. King Tutt has not met cats yet, so we are looking for a cat-free home at this time. King Tutt is a busy guy, who needs both physical and mental activities each day. He is gradually learning his leash manners, and enjoys the time outside to sniff. He has shown no signs of reactivity, or fear with other people/dogs, or city sounds. He can pull when he gets excited, so his new family should be prepared to continue working with him with his leash manners. At home King Tutt is learning his house manners with ease. He is house-trained, crate-trained and working on his commands. He has not been given free reign of the house if he is alone yet, as he is curious and may counter surf. King Tutt is not overly food motivated, but he loves to make his humans proud, so training is lots of fun! Prior to coming into care, King Tutt tested positive for Ehrlichia which is a tick-borne infection and is not contagious. A CBC was performed to see if there is an active infection. King Tutt 's CBC came back indicating that there is no active infection however it is recommended that Ehrlichia positive dogs get an annual blood test to monitor and that pre-op blood work including a CBC test and platelet count be performed before any surgeries or dental extractions. King Tutt also has mild enamel hypoplasia which is thinning of the enamel on his teeth. Homecare will help with brushing but he may require professional dental cleaning in the future. He should avoid hard chews, toys, and treats as his teeth will be more prone to breaking during play. If you’re interested in adopting King Tutt, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form King Tutt’s adoption fee is $850. Hello! My name is Jake!I came into the Guelph Humane Society in June very scared and under-socialized. My GHS friends and foster parents have been working very hard to help me learn that the world isn`t so scary. Once I warm up, you will see I have the best wiggle-bum. And I enjoy neck scratches and bum scratches. I`m still working on my confidence as little things can scare me, such as noises and movements. When I feel comfortable though, I can be quite silly and playful. I`m looking for an experienced home that is patient and can dedicate time to helping me continue to come out of my shell!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No, I`m looking for an adult-only home.OTHER DOGS: No, unfortunately I don`t have much experience with dogs and aren`t very comfortable with them.CATS: Potentially, with cat confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I am looking for a family that has lots of dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings due to my fearful nature.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes!If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the `adopt me` button to apply!
